Chapter 12: the great Wake-up and Didnt we eat this last year??
Heres the song I was thinking of.....http://www.bobrivers.com/player/player.asp?atype=tunes&ID=619&Speed=4
I love Bob Rivers....
Ok, putting away nerd identification card....
ANYWAY!!
OK, a reminder...we had hustled back to the room from Epcot and I had a migraine to kill a horse. As we start this chapter, I am asleep.
At about a quarter to five in the evening....three hours after we got back to the room, by the way....HHBG gently woke me up and asked if I wanted to get up for dinner, or if I just wanted him to go get counter service food for him and the kids. I woke up feeling ok, so I decided I wanted some Flying Fish.
I went and popped back into the shower to get my standing-straight-up bed-head hair back under control, and HHBG woke up the little girl and got her dressed. It was the kids first night in the kids club, so we walked them over a little early so we could fill out all of the paperwork, and get the kids used to the people there.
What a waste of time.
Why, you ask??
Well, we got there, and the kids TOOK OFF. Brianna was off playing with the Butterscotch horse they had, and Spencer was on the computer before we had even been handed the paperwork. We filled it out, and had to chase the kids down for goodbye kisses. Trust me, you could FEEL the love.
HHBG and I hopped a cab and were off to the Boardwalk. Last year, the Flying Fish Café was HHBGs favorite restaurant, and it was one of the only restaurants we decided to repeat.
We got seated in the back because it was pretty crowded, and we started to look at the menu. We knew for certain that we were goign to get the cheese plate as a post-dinner, before-dessert dish, but we wanted to see what they had before we made any other decisions.
While we were perusing the menu, I took these pics of HHBG:
And the other eyebrow:
At Flying Fish, if you dont know, they are willing to take any order you make, and split it onto two plates in the kitchen, so its like both people at the table are getting a half order. This saved us havign to split at the table, and it was pretty. Also, its like a make-your-own tasting, which I love.
This was what we ended up ordering:
Appetizer: Tuna tartare
Drink with appetizer: Tattinger Champagne
Entree 1: Scallops
Entree 2: potato wrapper red snapper
dinner drink: Pinot Noir (It was Australian, and I forget the vineyard)
post dinner plate: Cheese plate
drink with cheese: Port, sherry, and Madeira tasting flight
my dessert: Strawberry dessert
HHBGs dessert: Cheesecake
dessert drink: Cappucino (we needed something to sober us up)
Overall, it was another A+ awesome meal. HHBG says it was the best meal he had all week.
Our server was Mo from Morocco, if you go. He was attentive and awesome.
Hmmm......I use the word awesome a lot....almost as much as I say Dude....sometimes, I use them together, like dude, that was awesome!......
ANYWAY!!!!
As we were waiting onthe check, HHBG and I were talking about our meals. We were commenting on how good our food was both times we were at FFC, when HHBG said, "you know....I think we had the exact same dinner last year, too...."
I think he was right, too.

Oh well, either way, it was awesome.....I mean fantastic.
After dinner, we waddled our liquored selves over to the Wyland gallery. Now, we KNEW this was a bad move. HHBG and I have a weakness for good art. Last year, we bought a gorgeous painting from this gallery. We knew there was a good chance HHBGs job wouldnt survive the merger, and dropping four figures on art was a bad idea, and we also knew that if we went there we were most likely goign to buy something, BUT WE WENT ANYWAY!!
This is a really lousy picture of the piece we bought last year:
And another piece we bought through the Wyland gallery in Las Vegas....yeah, were weak.
Well, we went in there, and walked around and there was a huge brand new Tim Cotterill frog sculpture on a table. It was GORGEOUS. I HAD to have it. But, I knew we were trying NOT to spend money. I was willing to walk away.....
Now, for those of you who dont know me, I have a love affair with frogs. NOT the cutesy frogs, but the nice arty frogs, and realistic frogs. I have a frog tattoo behind my left ear. My drawer and cabinet pulls in the kitchen are frogs. I already have four sculptures by Tim Cotterill, the frogman. I have a frog climbing a blade of grass on my mantle, and see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil frogs (the see no evil, etc frogs and monkeys a re a big thing with HHBG and I...long story I may tell separately). Trust me, if you have been to a gallery, you know who I am talking about. He does the brass and enamel frog sculptures. (I'll try to get some decent pics of our frogs later!!)
HHBG knew I wanted the piece. he knows about my love of frogs. He saw that I couldn't keep my eyes off of the sculpture. he saw that I kept walking past it. Now, he liked it too, but he knew I coveted it, and was only walking away because we were trying to save as much as possible before he got fired.
So, he bought it for me...as my late birthday/anniversary gift.
Here it is on our window seat in the Dining room....the table is covered with D&D parepanalia right now.
At that point, it was determined that we had lightened our wallets enough, and we needed to get back, so we caught another cab back to the resort to go get the kids.
When we went to pick up the kids, they threw the hugest fit EVER. They did NOT want to leave. The only way we got them to go back tot he room was to promise that they were coming back the following day...so much for our concerns that they wouldnt like the kids club.
We got back to the room, chose outfits for the following day, brushed teeth, and went to bed. We had another big day coming up....
