Mommy...Why does Crush talk like you? Final thoughts and summary 10/15

So sorry about the migrane pain, that's never good. I have a friend who is exactly the same as you, we were out for a meal (not in disney!) and the same thing happened to her, so I can kind of sympathise with the pain and the way it impacted your meal!
Look at it on the positive side, at least you got to eat the snails and enjoy most of the apetizers before you got the migrane from hell!!! :rotfl:

Angela your migraine sounded terrible, it came on so fast too, do you think the lack of sleep was a cause? I hope the sleep helped and you were able to go out :)

BTW I don't know what the french chair tumblers are called either :rotfl:

What texture are the snails when they're cooked? chewey?

Even if it's not your own, migraines are no fun. They make for a miserable lunch. Still, it goes to show that plans are more a 'suggestion' than anything else.

The food was good and nicely complemented by the wine. The escargot was one of my favorites. Escargot has a good texture. It isn't chewy like rocky mountain oysters. Each morsel is pretty small, so there isn't a big 'texture' effect.

I'm sorry to hear about HHBG loosing his job, but that is great news that you don't have to stress about it all and he can take his time in finding a good job that he will enjoy!

And that totally sucks about the migrane at lunch! That stinks that you had to deal with that while having such a wonderful meal. :sad2:

Migraines suck!!! I use to get them all the time. Luckily for me we found out what was causing them and I haven't had another since Sept :woohoo:... sorry I shouldn't be dancing around when you are telling us about your horrible migraine ruining your favourite food :sad2: (in my defense I am a dancer so it just can't be helped).

Anyway, what I was trying to get at is that I totally understand how that feels and it just sucks that it happened to you not only at Disney but at a meal you were so looking forward to... there just ought to be laws against that!

I am so embarrassed to admit that I have never seen the Godfather....:sad2:

Now really...let's see who should be embarrrased here...the one that has never seen it or the one that freely let's her children watch, of all things, a ganster movie. It's history, right? :lmao:

True, I DID enjoy my meal. BUT I WANTED THE CREME BRULEE!! WAAAHH. :sad2:

I think the sleep definitely contributed....as did AF. :rolleyes1

They're kind of like mussels.

That migrain was a total buzz kill! Sorry to hear that it ruined your lovely lunch! :(

It was not fun, but HHBG was so sexy in taking care of everything for me. All I had to do was walk to the taxi.

HAD to bring up the Rocky Mountain oysters, didn't you?? Personally, I think the texture was closer to the rattlesnake. :snooty:

mmmmmm.......rattlesnake.......(insert another of those homer simpson drooley faces)

HHBG made it up to me a few days later at Bistro.

It was stinky, but it did force me to get some much needed sleep. Fortunately I brought the meds to WDW. When we went to Vegas in 2001, I completely forgot my migraine meds, and had to go to walgreens for a refill. :sad2:

I don't know why I never saw it, I just never did. My brother keeps threatening to buy it for me....he should. Otherwise, I will never see it. :confused3 I rarely watch movies unless it's with the kids. Maybe when Spencer and Brianna are older....

My son is scared by kids TV shows. there's now ay I would let him watch something like that. I still have to remind him that NEMO is a movie.....

How about a crippling sudden-onset migraine of death??

Dude. This was one of the worst headaches I have gotten in the 15 years I have been dealing with migraines. No warning, just sudden SEVERE pain, light sensitivity, and dizziness. BLEH!
I have only had 1 severe headache... well 2 weeks straight of them... in my life.... I couldn't imagine suffering from migranes... and getting one in the middle of WDW... sooo sorry girl :sad2:

I know what everyone thinks about me:

"great...more additions to the shallow end of the gene pool" or
"why did that woman reporduce? How irresponsible"

I won't tell. :thumbsup2

And WELCOME!

You are a good mom! You cook the kids dinner and you sew. Your family is lucky to have you. I can't sew and my husband cooks. But I know how you feel. Trust me. No mother of the year award for me.

Your trip report is great. I hope everything is going well. Can't wait to hear more. The kids are sooo cute!

Sorry to hear about the migraine. What a mood spoiler!! Really, What a trip spoiler. I have never tried snails. :scared: What does it taste like? Chicken?

Hey everyone, sorry. HHBG's last day is Monday, and we are clearing out his office adn making room in the house for his 9 boxes of books. Also, we spent the weekend settign up a budget and a plan for the next few months, because it looks more likely than not that neither of us will be working over the summer while he writes a book and I watch the kids. I'm also trying to get things set up for the summer with the kids, and my family is throwing my mother a surprise 60th birthday party this weekend, so I am finishing up some stuff for that. AND Spencer was diagnosed yesterday as being on the spectrum (Autism/asperger's stuff), and we are in the process of trying to get things set up there and get some follow-up stuff done with him to pin down exactly wat is going on and to try to get him set up wit some interventions.

I will probably be back posting in about a week or so. Also, sorry if I am usually on your TR/PTR, I'll check in eventually. I just popped in here to let you guys know what is going on. Thanks for stickign with me and your concern!!

diagnosed yesterday as being on the spectrum (Autism/asperger's stuff),

Hi! camelotcats:

I just want to say I am glad that you found out about your son so early on with his diagnosis. My son just turned 15 and we only found out last year that he has Aspergers Syndrome. My husband and I fought for years with Doctors, Therapists ect. to get him diagnosed. Even givin the fact that my BROTHER has Autism. Go figure!!

I can tell you the best thing we did for him was have him see an OT for sensory intergration therapy. It did him wonders, helped him focus more in school. Be warned though most insurances will not cover this type of therapy. Trust me I know I fought with the insurance company for months only to be denied. We ended up sending him to a private therapist that worked out of her home she was wonderful and only charged us what our co-pay would have been.

Since then we have tried a combination of Meds that seem to have worked and his grades have skyrocketed. I was reluctant to give him meds but he has been really unaffected by them and I have really seen a differance in him more focused, calm, less anxiety.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to PM me with any concerns. We have been through it all with him. I can let you know what worked for us and what didn't. But PLEASE get him the help he needs. The first thing I would do is get an IEP ( here it is called Individual Education Plan) in place with school. That way things will be all set for next school year. Once again PLEASE PM me with any concerns you have.

Wendy
