MNSSHP, the dates, the discussion.

Did those same calendars also provide confirmation of party dates? That is what has me confused.

No, but a 7:00 closing at MK is usually a pretty good indication (except on the 11th and 12th, which are for Night of Joy). There really isn't any other reason (other than a private event, which is pretty rare) for MK to close that early. And every 7:00 closing from the 15th on is a party night.

To assist you with your planning. I am unclear as to how Disney encouraged them to provide false information. That would the fault of the planning sites for not confirming or making it clear they were guessing.

I respectfully disagree. Every planning site saying that the party would be in early sept isnt a coincidence. Disney knew when releasing that calendar what speculation would happen. Everyone here on the boards thought the party started the 1st also. The planning sites all reported exactly what Disney told them. It wasn't a random guess.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. I did not mean to cause trouble. Sorry of this impacts your vacation negatively.

What a bummer for anyone trying to plan! I hope everyone is able to find an acceptable alternate plan.

Especially 7:00pm closings on the 1st a Tuesday, the 4th a Friday, and the 7th labour day Monday......typical party days. I can see if it was one private event happening, but three days like this? it screams Halloween party to me.

Hi Everyone!

Looks like MNSSHP will begin on Sept 1, which is a Tuesday. Its also the last day of my trip before we travel home!

OP, I'm so sorry it now appears you'll miss the start of the party. I know I would be quite disappointed.

I do want to point out that you might want to make a revision to your title. As long as this appears on the first page of threads, lots of people are seeing the title and might not read the thread all the way to the end to see that it now appears the first party is probably not on the 1st.

So true. Everytime this thread catches my eye I get excited all over again. Then I read the last few posts and get let down again...and again....and again. :rotfl:

Actually, I just did some googling, and it looks like last year was the first time they had one earlier than the 10th.

I meant the days of the week....Tuesdays and Fridays were typical party days. Not the dates themselves.

2009 started on 9/4. And a lot of people made plans for an early September start the next year and were disappointed.

Done. Sorry for any disappointment I may have caused.

Oh, I don't think you are responsible for any disappointment. It was a reasonable assumption.

I hope you find a way to get to MNSSHP one day. :)

Me too!!! I just feel bad for everyone, and never wanted to mislead anyone. I really believed they would offer it then, historically, and based on the "unofficial sites" :( I never dreamed that by planning my "august" vacation that we would be able to attend a Halloween party. But I stick to my original plan......we will still have an amazing time!!!

So I called Disney today to inquire about the dates. Sadly I was told that September 15th is the first official date. I also asked about the early closing times on the 1st, 4th and the 7th and was told that the September calendar is not available yet. I guess we'll just have to enjoy Disneyworld without a Halloween party.

We will be at WDW Sept 11-15...of course, we just miss the first night of the MNSSHP. Bummer! Does anyone know if the park will be decorated with Halloween decorations or do they wait until the MNSSHP begins? I would at least love to see the park decorated... :worried:

So Disney releases a sept calendar that makes everyone think there are parties beginning the first, then release party dates beginning the 15th but then say the sept calendar isn't out yet? Who is responsible for the confusion?

Well, that's wrong because the September calendar is available, and Disney put it out.

I'm pretty sure they have the parks decorated in early September.
