Yep, it sounds like something is up and we are not privy to the information just yet. Disney can do anything they want. It's still 6.5 months away, folks!:thumbsup2

Me and my DS (32) will be going to WDW October 2016. Is there a good reason for us to attend MNSSHP or should we skip it?

The first time we went to Disney we said no way we're paying extra money for some party. Well, we did end up going, and it was hands down THE BEST thing we did while there. I would say it's can't miss IMHO.

Count me in as one who was hoping I could attend the first week of September. I was so excited as this would be our only chance. I saw someone mention elsewhere that perhaps they close early those 3 nights because they need to decorate. Is that possible? I know they decorate through the middle of the night for the most part. It also seems hard to believe that there are 3 private parties that close together.

Nope. All the decorating and cast rehearsals are done overnight.

The same thing happened Labor Day weekend last year. Both Friday and Monday had 7 p.m. closes at MK. Then, a fairly long while after the TA calendar came out, Disney changed Friday's closing time to 11 p.m.

Well... This will be my fourth year in a row... The last two years we drove down to Orlando from VA with MNSSHP being our biggest and main reason for going. After our last week-long trip, DH was burned out and asked that we skip WDW for a few years, but said his favorite part was the party and he'd do it again in heartbeat. He had such a great time in 2014 (even with THE WORST weather we've had for a party) that he booked a weeklong stay for 2015. :-)

Does that help answer the "is it worth it?" Question?

That reassures me a bit, thank you.

We were excited over the bonus of a party during our stay, if it happens, cool, if not then that's fine too, I just want to enjoy my stay. What caught me more off guard was the 7pm closings, in particular the 4th, hate to think our last MK day would be shortened, no desire to change the itinerary.
We've been lucky, and have gone to the parties in the past, and is well worth the extra money. I do feel badly for those who have booked based on the TA dates, and hope for a little luck to come their way. We planned our dates a year ago, and never really thought the parties would happen.

I'm so bummed about this. We missed the party last time and was hoping we could make it this time and it looks likes it won't happen. Unless Disney opens up a few more days. ;-)

It's pure conjecture on my part. But it won't close at 7 unless there's a party or private event. I can't imagine them having private events all of those nights so I find that unlikely. If there's really no party, they'll have to adjust those hours.

yes I agree. Its just surprising to me that thy haven't done that yet. Do they typically change around park hours?

What are people's thoughts about the 11/1 party...thinking it will be more or less crowded due to it being the day after Halloween and a Sunday? Can't decide on the going 10/29 or 11/1...any advice?

I don't think it will really matter. I think the day after Halloween party traditionally sells out as well.

So, you don't think there's much of a difference between 10/29 and 11/1? Bummer...I was sort of hoping it would be less crowded on 11/1.
