MNSSHP coming back 2021?

I'm hoping for no unless things are 100% rolled back and all normal stuff is put back into place. Because I know people will pay for Covid holiday parties and it annoys me because we're once again conditioning Disney to give us less for more and they'll justify raising prices even more for tickets in normal times.
I cannot like this enough. Disney has such an insanely sick way of getting us excited and grateful to have the opportunity to pay more for less...

The special announcement better had be the return of the parties. Otherwise what could the special announcement be?

Disney Villain After Hours? That might be an easier event to add on since it doesn't require all the shows and fireworks and parades that would encourage people to gather.

What could they do for the the Xmas parties then? Fireworks will be back. No way are they going to bother hiring a fireworks position or testing the harmonious barges if they were not planning on or being positive about having fireworks this year.

"Disney After Hours Boo Bash comes as part of the Disney Parks “Halfway to Halloween” wicked celebration today and May 8, 2021 that’ll feature special announcements, a few “shriek peeks,” recipes for dreadfully delicious dishes from the parks, a “mummy approved” Disney+ playlist, not-so-spooky tips, frightfully favorite Halloween wallpapers, and much more.

Disney After Hours Boo Bash is a new Halloween party coming to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World beginning in August 2021

Disney After Hours BOO BASH will take place on select nights at Magic Kingdom from August 10, 2021 through October 31, 2021. Tickets for this event will go on sale in June 2021, so continue to check for updates. Disney After Hours BOO BASH tickets will grant admission to Magic Kingdom park as early as 7:00 PM without the need for a day park ticket or Disney Park Pass theme park reservation"

Yay! The blog updated. Thanks for sharing, everyone!

After Hours Boo Bash sounds fun! It sounds like a hybrid between Disney Villains After Hours and MNSSHP. Kids will be allowed to dress up, but instead of parades that encourage people to gather, they will have Halloween-themed cavalcades and character sightings.

At first I didn’t see entry at 7...for only three hours that was going to be a tough sell

So this event sounds like just a slightly halloween themed after hours event? No fireworks or parades? I don’t think this provides much hope for people (read as me) who were hoping for more entertainment offerings and a return to normal in the fall.

I think the sooner vaccination rates increase, the sooner WDW will offer more offerings. A lot of counties (like Orange County) have COVID protocols linked to the percentage of people vaccinated. Vaccination for children 2+ should be available by October. Because it will take two doses plus 2 weeks, most people will be able to be fully vaccinated by Thanksgiving. Maybe fireworks will come back then if enough people don't get vaccinated sooner! Honestly, I think fireworks could come back sooner IF vaccination rates increase and IF Disney could figure out a way to keep the thousands of people from leaving the parks at the same time. Unfortunately, when there are firework shows, everyone who is tired tries to stay for the fireworks, and then they all leave at once. People are packed together so closely when they try to leave MK after fireworks. It honestly is kind of scary at times even before the pandemic!

I think that the 50th being so heavily set in MK might be some of the reason for a scaled down event. There will already be a lot going on in MK and trying to pull off a full scale version might not be in the cards. I am disappointed but excited that at least they are going the extra measure to bring back as much as they can with some new features.

I think we see Harmonious by or after July 4th. Just my gut feeling - Disney has to get something geared up and running smoothly for Oct and the 50th.

Now really hoping that masks are dropped for walking around outside so we can go, first time since parks reopened that I really want to try and go.

Its more they aren't running normal parades and fireworks and the castle shows not enough space to get people apart and cause traffic jams.

Any guesses on the pricing?? I'm going to bet that they will really restrict attendance and not pack people in as in previous years. I would say that $249/person is not outside the realm of possibility. I'm sure people will eagerly pay it...even for just 3-5 hours.

I won't pay that. Three hours with not very many entertainment offerings, and the unlimited snacks of the former After Hours events not being included. I wouldn't pay much more than a days ticket price.
