MNSSHP - Bad Choice for Day?

have never been as late in the month as you are looking, but usually go to the party twice when I go...and I have gone on arrival day. The earlier in the week, ie Sunday, Tuesday, the less crowded the party. Can you handle arrival day plus party? Depends on who is with you. Travel days are tiring, who sleeps the night before? So that may not work for your party depending on the ages of who you are traveling with. The later in the week, the more crowded. That does not mean it is not doable. The parade is the best-do not miss. The second is less crowded, but still crowded. Personally I love the Villains mix and mingle show at the castle. If you have a favorite villain, you have time for one picture after the show-run for your favorite villain. Be sure to come up with a costume. The best part of the Halloween party is seeing how creative the fellow guests are!

Do not skip the haunted mansion-the cast members are "in the spirit". Also great fun

Yeah...although our arrival day is a MNSSHP and we plan on heading over to MK when we get there (between 3 and 4pm) with a 7pm ADR at resort near by...I think that hitting the party would be too much. Our kids will be 5 and 9 when we travel so will probably be tired by evening (but excited!)...3+hr flight plus airport time...so not sure it's the best idea. Plus we've already bought the 5 day park tickets which includes arrival day.

So that only leaves the Thursday or Friday. And the issue is that on Thursday I already have CRT booked, which is our prime ADR at the moment (still trying for BOG on another night) and so don't want to feel rushed.

As for villains, my DD is a bit of a suck (she wouldn't watch Little Mermaid for awhile because of the Octopus villain), but my DS would enjoy. Will try and catch them. Party sounds like so much fun...but as per original post, am just a bit worried it will be extremely crowded.

Btw...anyone know when tickets go on sale? I thought I had heard May 1st but am not seeing it on sale on the Disney site yet.

We opted to go with the 31st. It's a bit more pricey but since we are there it gives the kids something special to do on Hallowe'en.
