I just ordered my tickets for Halloween night since this is the only time we can go this will also be our first time going to the party. I know it will be crowded but there are no other nights we can go so I was wondering how is it on Halloween night ?

I haven't been on Halloween night, but I've been on here long enough to learn that it will sell out and it will be busy. You should make a list of priorities and try to stay for the second parade. At most parties, many leave after the fireworks and have already seen the first parade. Have fun!

It's a sold out part, that's for sure.

Rides will have a very low wait, it's the character lines that will be a problem.

It'll also be my first time ever at the MNSSHP and I plan to follow easyWDW advice for characters. I don't want to meet too many characthers anyway, my only priorities are Dwarves, Donald Duck, Jack Sparrown and the Evil Queen.

I believe if you have somewhat of a plan crowds won't be a problem and you'll have a great time.

All I can say is you never know...I've never been on Halloween night BUT..the first time we went to MNSSHP Halloween was on a weekday (Wed. I believe) we had tickets for the Friday and Sunday nights right before Halloween.

I thought those days (especially Friday) would be very crowded as it was the weekend right before Halloween and I thought it would be popular among locals especially those with Kids who had school on Halloween.

Well both nights were great! Not overly crowded at all..we got to see and do all we wanted and had time for lots of trick or treating...in fact, last year we went towards end of Sept. and it was much more crowded than when we went weekend before Halloween.

We can't wait, but I think everyone is right I need to make a game plan. the characters I would want are Jack Sparrow and the Dwarves other than that I am for the parades and trick or treating

LOL. Didn't see this before I made my post. I'm trying to make a decision about going Halloween night, too.

If dwarves are important then plan to get on line very early. Last times we went the dwarves were set up by Splash Mt. area, but this year they may change due to new Mine Train ride...I would definitely check out on Disboards where Dwarves are before you go.

When we've gone I've seen people lined up as early as 4 - 4:30 (when they usually let in guests for MNSSHP) to see the Dwarves... Since they are so popular and if they are a must-see for you then I would get in that line as early as you can. This way you can see the Dwarves then go and enjoy the party.
As far as Jack Sparrow ... check on Kenny the Priate website..I believe there are other times other then MNSSHP when you can see him. One time DS was picked to participate in his pirate school they have in MK. If you can see Sparrow another time on your trip that might be advisable as there is so many other things and characters you can meet only at MNSSHP why waste time waiting to see a character you can see another time on trip. Just a suggestion.

Also what was helpful the first time I went was people posted PDFs of the map for MNSSHP...it was helpful to know where things were and who was out and about before we left. With the disboards you will be able to get all this information in plenty of time before you leave to make a game plan.
CMS are also very helpful...when we were waiting for Villains Mix and Mingle show last year a CM showed us the layout of where the villains go after the show for M&G so DS could stand in line are for his favorite villain first. We usually get to meet all the villains within 2 showings.

That makes alot of sense. We will be there from Oct 30th - Nov 4th so I have plenty of time to see some of the other characters. My main thing really is for my kids to go trick or treating and to see a parade

Always sold out on this night! Walkways especially during earlier parade totally jammed up and lines for characters really long. But candy lines although also crazy long move fast and lines for rides are not too bad. Stay for 10 pm parade if possible it's way less crowded as is everything else later in the evening.
It's special to go on Halloween night if you can handle crazy crowded!

I do not like crowds but I deal with them when I have too. I am so looking forward to this It will be a new experience for all of us .

2 years ago we did Halloween night.. we got in line for the Dwarves at 6:15 and were finished by 7:20. The dwarves came out at 7pm. Maybe we were lucky the line was not too bad when we got there... It definitely grew after we got there.. I was SO glad we had our whole night left...

I am also going on October 31st, but I decided to go another day as well Oct 28th. Hopefully this way I can watch two parades, two fireworks, get a ton of candy, and meet all the characters. We also love the special photos you can get, as well as how low the ride times are.

I have heard from so many different people so many varying opinions on Halloween night, from its not bad at all, to kinda bad, to some on this thread saying its terrible. All I can say is go in with a game plan, pick a couple must dos and then the rest is gravy :)
