Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

This is probably a stupid question but.....

Most posters to this thread are arriving prior to the 7PM start time....Would there be any problems entering the park later, say 8 or 9. I would think you would be able to avoid the crowds leaving the park.

I like getting there when the crowds are leaving. You get to walk on the wide-open right of Main Street with your special arm band while everyone else has to leave for the night. :p
The crowds leaving aren't a problem either. In fact, I find Disney transportation to be a bit more efficient to the resorts at that time because they have so many people to get out of the MK at that time.
Also, the first time I attended MVMCP, back in 2000, we got there late, just got into town, and we regretted doing so. There was so much to see and do and we lost an hour and a half.

I am planning on going to MVMCP on Sunday Nov 27th the 1st night,I was wondering if anyone has done that,I know it is the end of Thanksgiving day weekend and I am worried it will be busy, but it is the day I am arriving and I will get to the hotel at about 1pm and I think that would be the best use of my day so if anyone has gone on the 1st day I would appreciate any feedback.
thanks!!!! :)

I will be there from the 23 or 24 through the 28th. :confused3 Are the parks open and celebrating on the 24-25??? I just was thinking about it and would love it if someone could answer that just so I'm not assuming. We usually go the last of Dec and beg of Jan so this is new to me! Thanks!!!!!

The parks are open, but there isn't an MVMCP those days.

We'll be there the 24th to the 2nd of December and I'm also wondering if the 27th (first night) will be more crowded than going on the 29th (Tuesday). :confused3

We will be there from Nov 29- Dec 6 with MVMCP on Thursday, Dec 1 (and rain date of Sun Dec 4). Want to eat at LTT for that night.

Our plan for the day is (hopefully will get the reservations!) Pirate Cruise for all 3 while DH and I eat at Konas. Then lounge around the resort, snack, and take a long nap. Then off to LTT and MVMCP!

I'm hoping the kids will be able to enjoy the late night. Planning an easy am on Friday to sleep in as well.

So excited!

I wouldn't worry about the crowds. Disney sells a limited number of tickets to this event. So, for example, let's say this year they sell 20,000 tickets per party. Parties usually sell out. So no matter what night you go, there will be 20,000 people there. And before you think that sounds like a lot - it's less than the MK absorbs on a low season day. ;) Go any day! We were going to schedule it for 12/1, but now, we're looking at 11/29. See ya'll there!

I don't mean to criticize anyone, but I don't understand why so many people want to spend time with a table-service restaurant during MVMCP. It's only for a limited number of hours. I want to get as much as I can out of it, so when we eat, it will be at a (relatively) much quicker counter service restaurant.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Thanks for the info,I have been there 2 times in the past and it didn't seem busy,I don't think it soldout, but I don't think it was so close to Thanksgiving I usually go later but changed it to avoid Pop Warner. :)

You're right different strokes for different folks. I arrive at 4:00p and eat around 5:00 - 5:30 because we enjoy sitting down to eat while everyone's being sent to Tomorrowland. Then we're done just in time for the beginning of the party, around 6:45p.

Works great for us.

Oh, somehow I missed the part about eating during the "transition time." Makes a little more sense, now.

If we can get PS's for that transition time, then we'll be doing LTT. If we can't, then we'll be doing a counter service (like we did for MNSSHP last year). Pecos Bill's was EMPTY & we were able to relax & take our time eating, then only spent a short amount of time in Tomorrowland before 7pm.

Thanks..but I was at MNSSHP on 10/29 last year and they didn't say they were sold out but I thought the park was very crowded. Maybe some days they sell more tickets than others?? I'm leaning towards going on the 2nd night, I think alot of Thanksgiving people may hang on for that following Sunday just to get the MVMCP squeezed in. :)

We're probably going to do the last party on the 20th...even though it's last party, I'm hoping it won't be *too* bad since it's on a Tuesday. Can't wait to bring my mom and DS to experience the magic!
We will be at this party too, Skuttle! My DH and DD (18) and I. It's our arrival day for our first "Christmas at WDW" trip! :) I have the same hopes that you do!! :goodvibes

Oh...you will LOVE WDW during Christmas! It's my favorite time to go!! We'll be in WDW (staying at the Swan) Dec. 16-24. Maybe we'll see y'all around! It'll be me, DH, DS (will be 2 1/2), and my mom. :)

I wanted to go during Christmas but I have read so many things about how crowded it is!! Plus, I just want to see the Osbourne Spect. of Lights, the caroling brass and singers and I really really wanted to go to MVMCP!!! I changed my dates to the 15-20!!!! I hope that the MVMCP is going to have at least three nights when I'm there so I have plenty to choose from!!!!!

Oh good! We are at the Dolphin, 20th-27th!! I will look for you :)

I just can't wait! :Pinkbounc

Your thoughts.
We have plenty of time before our trip and 2 options right now. Option #1 - Go on 11/27. This is the day our friends arrive. We're a little afraid of going this night because if their flight gets delayed or something, we won't be able to meet up with them until after 6pm at the air port. But it would be a great way to start them off in the grand tradition of Disney! It's thier first trip.
Option #2 - Go 11/29. It'll be in the middle of our trip, so no schedule conflicts, but it won't start them off! We were considering going to Illuminations the first night if we do MVMCP later in the week. Thoughts?

I would think about doing it later in the week. It will be a very late night after travelling to Orlando, and it might just be better to let them get a little rest first. ::MickeyMo

We're coming from the West coast, so we'll probably all be WIDE awake until midnight, due to the 3 hour time change. Hm... Oh yeah! The first morning we're there, we have the 1st seating at Donald's Breakfastosauros planned. Hm... but later in the week, they'll have been to the park before and can go slow and really enjoy the atmosphere... Maybe later would be better. Delayed gratification. :)
