Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

This will be our 1st visit this time of year. Are the tickets further discounted if you are an AP holder? I have so many questions but I think I will wait until our May trip is done. We too are surprising our DD's (4&6) with this trip!

We arrive on the 15th and it's great to see we will have the chance of chosing between 3 MVMCP nights :) Looking at last years dates were were worried that our only choice would be the Friday the 16th :)

Now I just need to decide what night to go - Friday 16th, Sunday 18th or Tuesday 20th! The 16th will be our first full day, so after the 9 hour flight the day before a late night at MVMCP may be too much. So that leaves Sunday or Tuesday - any thoughts on which would be best?

I have asked this question before because we are also choosing between the 18th and the 20th. What I was told is that the 20th may sell out, just because it is the last night..... But they supposedly only sell 20,000 tickets so even if it sells out it should not be crowded. I think we're gonna choose the 18th.

MVMCP is supposed to go on rain or MOONLIGHT. Have the fireworks, shows and parades ever been cancelled because of the weather. :sad2:

Once a couple of years ago (2002, I believe) one MVMCP night was pouring rain. They did cancel a few things like the fireworks and parade so they did let people exchange tickets for another night (that's why it's better to allow for a backup night) or gave them a refund and some got a one-day pass. But those people waited in the long, rainy Guest Services line that night before they left the park. Not sure what they'd do if you tried to get compensation AFTER you've left the party.

But it's rare that this happens. I only know of the one party in 2002.

It would be nice, but there are no discounts for MVMCP as an AP holder.

Actually there is a discount starting this year. BUT it's 25% off the day of, gate price. No one knows yet if that means we have to wait till we're down there OR if we can buy them when they go on sale from home but just pay the gate price minus the 25% off.

So glad to see this thread! We've always gone to WDW in the summer, but this year DS's marching band is going in December, so I'm finally going to see WDW all decorated for the holidays! Can't wait!! :cool1:

Does anyone know if the disney transportation(monorail and buses) continue to run all through MVMCP hours(12am) to and from the resorts?

Yes, they do, all night long. We were there until 12:30 one night watching the show in front of the castle and still had no problem with buses.

Yes, that is what I meant, that would also mean it's the gate price. Sorry for the confusion.

Everyone is hoping though that they only mean that AP holders pay Gate price and don't actually have to wait till the day of as many nights sell out. Time will tell.

As far as Disney transportation goes, and this may be a fluke, but at 1am, we were stranded at the TTC until 3am waiting for a bus to take us back to the All-star. A handful of people were stranded w/ us, so don't wait until the very last second to board! Security was very nice about calling an extra bus for us, but since the other handful of people who were stranded came from FW, it took us about 45 minutes to get back to our allstar room once we got on the bus. (Since this was DH's first visit, he's now ADAMANT that we rent a car every time we go.)

So if tickets go on sale in May when will Disney officially post the dates and all the information on thier site?

Last year the tickets didn't go on sale online for about 2 weeks after they went on sale over the phone.

I am assuming we will get the official word right here on this thread as soon as it becomes available......or sooner. :teeth: I check this thread daily.

While on the phone with Disney dining today, I asked the CM if they had any details, yet. He checked and said that they still had only that MVMCP would be held in November and December--well duh we both concluded! :confused3

OK, have lurked on about 4 boards reading info on MVMCP. It seems like 99% of those of us who are going are doing so on a Tuesday! Everyone keeps saying that's the slowest day, but how slow can it really be if everyone is being told to go on that day? HMMMMM......

Just wondering what everyone thinks. If nothing else there will be a lot of "board" people there!

I have heard that since there are only 20,000 people allowed and that is like Magic Kingdom on a low attendance day...I'm not worried about any day. I don't think that it will feel cramped at all.

Anyone else feel this way? I think I'm going to try to go on the 16th or 18th of December.

That's my thinking, and the only reason we're even considering going to the party for the first time. Now I just have my fingers crossed that there really will be one on December 20th - even though that's closer to Christmas than they usually run - because that's the only day we could attend.
