Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

That's my thinking, and the only reason we're even considering going to the party for the first time. Now I just have my fingers crossed that there really will be one on December 20th - even though that's closer to Christmas than they usually run - because that's the only day we could attend.
:grouphug:

My fingers are crossed too!! Our trip is December 16-24...we weren't expecting any MVMCPs during our trip. We're hoping for the 20th as it fits better in our plans than the 17th.

We have the choice of the 18th or the 20th so I'm pretty sure we are going to do the 18th.

Isn't 20,000 a fraction of the amount of people who normally go to the park on any given day? If so, is the 20th really going to be all that busy if only 20,000 people are there?

Also, does anyone know if MVMCP tickets are something that the IPO staff can book for you if you stay Concierge? I gave them my credit card and a list of the stuff that I want including MVMCP but they never confirmed/denied that they can book it.

No one knows if it's really 20,000. Disney is pretty secretive about that. All I can say is I've been MNSSHP on Halloween night and it was VERY packed. Sell out nights are VERY packed. I've been to MVMCP 3 times now and MNSSHP on Hallween twice and it seemed pretty crowded on the streets although some rides had no or little wait.

If I had to choose between a night that would sell out and a night that wouldn't, I'd absolutely pick the one that wouldn't.

According to this thread the dates are 12/18 and 12/20 not 12/17. Hope that helps with your plans.

My experience has been that concierge will not help you until they receive your reservation which is typically around 5 months prior to your trip. Which is somewhere around July. The tickets will go on sale in May. So to avoid the possibility of these dates selling out, you are probably better off purchasing the tickets yourself.

It don't think WDW ever held the MVMCP this late in December before but the closer you get to Christmas, the parks and the resorts get more crowded, which probably means more people will be trying to get tickets this year for those dates.

I meant the 18th...I just forgot the dates. Thanks, though! The 20th still works out best for us. We did MVMCP in 2001 so at least we sorta know what to expect, where things are, etc if it is extra crowded.

They've actually already booked several things for me. I just emailed them, introduced myself and told them when I was coming. They confirmed my ressie in their system and we've been communicating regularly since. I was just wondering if this fell under the category of something they would book because they do tours but they don't do Richard Petty. I would ask them but they won't even talk about MVMCP because Disney hasn't released the dates yet. Oh well!

I am gonna call back and see if they have my reservation yet. There are some other things I would like them to take care of.

Which resort are you staying at?

For those who have been during Christmas season, which resort has the best Christmas decorations? I've never tried WL, so I was considering that one.

Wilderness Lodge does have the best, but I think Animal Kingdom Lodge is just as nice by the size of that tree! Also, both resorts have a warmer appeal at night, with what seems to be less interior lighting and more windows, making the lights shine more, IMHO.

When we were there in December 2000, I would say that the Grand Floridian had the most lavish Christmas decorations we saw. There was a very tall tree in the center of the main lounge, plus a big gingerbread house with a lady inside selling candy and snacks, and a pretty nice electric train setup on the upper level overlooking the grand lounge. We also visited WL, but were mostly impressed by the totem poles and other year-round "decorations", although the tree was very nice. We stayed off-site, and the only other resort we visited was the Contemporary. They had some decorations, but we don't remember them as being all that impressive.

Last year we stayed at the BW and really enjoyed the chocolate Christmas decorations there. They had carolers most nights. We also walked over to the Dolphin, Swan, Beach and Yacht Club and they also had some wonderful decorations. I guess you can do that with the monorail resorts also, but the nights were cool and wonderful to take longs walks in.

I havn't read through all this yet, so I don't know if this has been posted already. Does anyone know when they will have the list of speakers for this year? Thanks!

That doesn't come out till at least August or September and some years even later...

Thanks, beattyfamily. I didn't remember them announcing it so late in the year.

Sorry, new to the Disney holiday thing but does the Candlelight need a special ticket or is it just the dining deal available? :confused3

Thanks!

No ticket necessary. It's a show at Epcot and there's 3 a night. You can do a package just like Fantasmic Package that guarantees you a seat. YOu pay for it when you book it though.

You can try and see a show without the package though.

Thanks!!! We'll probably do a package because I don't like to wait in line - I know, weird for a Disneyite!

Unfortunately, you will still have to go in a line but you are guaranteed a seat. Last year when there were certain narrators that were popular the package came in handy.

Planning our first holiday trip to WDW. Hoping to experience MVMCP on my birthday, Nov 29th. May just be one of my favorite birthday's ever!
