Hey all...

My best friend, me and my two boys (10 & 8) will be down in Disneyland the weekend of October 7th-9th, 2011. Today, I noticed that the park will be closing at 7pm that friday night for the Halloween Party. So me being the Disney freak that I am, I want to get as much time in the parks that I can, yet need to save money where I can. So my question is. Is the Halloween Party worth the $$?

Thanks in advance.

We ahd a lot of fun doing it last year. There are a lot of photo ops and the rides are open as well. We also came home with close to 20 pounds or so of candy. The bags were breaking before we got back to the room. My question to you is what do you want to get out of the extra time?

oooh photo ops?? That made my ears perk up!! :lol

Is it less crowded during the tour time?? I mean if it's not as crowded it might be worth the money.

I went last year on my solo trip, and ended up with over 20lbs of good old junk food (the good stuff too!)at the 2 MHP's I attended. And I wasn't even trying that hard, and could have gotten alot more if I put my mind to it:banana::banana:. I had a blast, and the fireworks are worth the admission alone. In fact I loved it so much, that we are surprising the kids with a trip to DL at the end of next month, and will be attending the MHP on Sept 30th. It's going to be alot of fun showing the family DL in all it's spooky glory.:maleficen:maleficen:maleficen

We went last year. For us...yes, it was worth the money. It was a lot of fun, there was a different vibe in the park, having 2 of my childhood favorites (trick-or-treating and Disneyland) colliding...very much worth the money.

BUT, as far as crowds go, our party night was definitely more crowded than our days. I guess I should say it FELT MUCH MORE CROWDED than our days. We were there the entire last week of October and attended the party on Tuesday night. Our Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday days all felt less crowded than our Tuesday party night and Friday day.

ok, so my next question is....

Since the park closes at 7p to the public, how late does it stay open for the MHP??

We did the WDW version in 2008 and LOVED it. We were so disappointed that we couldn't do it last year- the party dates had changed and didn't start until our departure day. Anyway- we are SO excited to try the DL version this year! My kids don't know about the trip and even after we get there we are not going to tell them about the party until the night of! For us it is worth the money- love the fireworks, the characters, the parade (not sure it is the same at DL). Anyway- we love it!

I should point out that this is how my hubby and I choose to celebrate our anniversary. :) We love it! Last year we had so much candy I though we were going to have to pay extra to check our bags. This year, we are going to pass on the treats and play more. :) :rotfl:
