Mickey Bars in Bed & Dole Whips for Lunch - Nov 15 Dining Report - Complete!

Thanks so much for the info on the chase visa lounge. I had no idea. It will be great to go in and get a coke.

You are so welcome! If not for the boards/some Disney blogs, I wouldn't have known about it either. I thought it was only for Disney Visa but it was for all Chase Visa. It was really nice to go in and cool off and have a Coke.

Can't believe CHH closed so early and then Casey's was the nightmare that it was. I haven't had the corn dog nuggets in a few years, but I'd imagine they wouldn't be too good if they weren't piping hot.

Looks like you all got plenty of park and food time on your last day though. And not shocked at all you had, not one, but two things of nachos before you left ; )

Thanks for letting me eat along with you once again. And presuming we route for the same team, GO STEELERS tomorrow!!!!

Justin had his eye on the holiday ice cream sandwich. I asked him to share and he gave me major side eye. I have had one of those sandwiches before (the chocolate chip kind) and they are HUGE.
That. Looks. Awesome! :hyper: I have never had an ice cream sandwich before, but I really need to try one on my next trip. Looks like I'll have to share though!

Thanks for the great reviews and pictures. I need to go eat something now...

Hi there! Back home, caught up, and once again loved your report :) Funniest thing? Just this past Saturday Steve and I discovered the indoor seating at La Cantina lol!!! Never knew it was there before!

Haha! So we are not the only ones! I don't think we'd ever been to La Cantina before this trip but it took us 3 times to find the indoor seating.. who would've thought. I thought maybe it was part of La Hacienda but we were there in the afternoon so I guess not.

It was so good! :) They also have them at Sleepy Hollow but I believe at the Plaza you can choose any flavor of ice cream. Thanks for reading!

Great reviews Ashley!

Thank you!! :)

Right! I was so shocked that 1.5 hours before the party started, it was already closed. Like a ghost town. Stinks, especially for folks leaving at 7 once the party started.

Hahaha yes, TWO nachos! Looking back we ate so many nachos that week, haha.

Sorry about the Steelers luck. Darn! Justin was watching and I skipped out about halfway through but he was less than thrilled with the outcome to say the least. The only time he swears is when there's football on TV. ;)

So, being the uber-planner, Southwest flight stalker, and Disney fan that I am, we decided on one last "quick trip" before the wedding in September. Between an exam for work, wedding planning, and honeymoon planning, we are ready for a vacation! Justin's AP runs out in June so what better time to head to WDW one last time. Just trying to be economical here. ;)

Coincidentally, we'll be heading down during the Star Wars Half Marathon. We were in WDW during the Wine and Dine half in November (also by coincidence). Now my running days are nearly 2 years behind me so I won't be participating. I've done 3 half marathons (with my sister and cousins, so it was lots of fun) but unless someone is holding a glass of Riesling in front of me, I ain't running 13 miles ever again. It was fun while it lasted.

We have approximately 45,000 BIG family events happening in spring/summer 2016: My cousin is having a baby in March! My brother is graduating college. My other brother is graduating high school. My sister is heading to Air Force boot camp of some kind (she's in college @ PSU and is part of the Air Force ROTC program), and oh! My other cousin is having a baby in June. So we have 2 graduations, a graduation party (my mom does NOT mess around with grad parties and at the last ones, invited over 200 people. Basically the size of our wedding), 2 baby showers, and 2 baptisms (#MyBigFatCatholicFamily). And that's just my mom's side. Not to mention wedding festivities such as planning, the wedding shower, and the bachelorette party.

So naturally right in the middle of it we felt it was necessary to book a trip to WDW because where else can we burn off all of that extra stress?!

We are heading down on Saturday 4/16 (our flight takes off at 6:30 AM I think) and returning on Tuesday 4/19 (our return flight takes off at 7:30 PM and lands around 9:30). So it will be a quick 4 days, 3 nights, but that's all we really need.

We decided to do Deluxe Dining this time. We were going to do the regular DDP. Justin wanted to eat at Le Cellier, and with 3 TS meals, that would require 2, so we figured we'd pay OOP for that one. Well, then he bet me that if I could get to 15 boot camp classes at our gym this month, he'd take me to a restaurant of my choice. Currently I have 4 more classes to go, but looks like this girl will be going to Narcoossee's. ;) That's my kind of bet!

Anyways, by the time we factored in paying OOP for both of those, we decided to just upgrade to Deluxe. We've been wanting to try it and the price difference was justifiable since it's such a short trip. I snagged a really good deal at Pop Century (AP discount) so the resort came to around $100/night - not bad at all. All Stars was even less ($97 per night I think) but Justin likes the buses at Pop so we went with that.

We also got a good deal on our flights! Originally we planned Friday-Monday, but I played with the dates and we ended up saving $40 more by switching Saturday-Tuesday. #bargainshopper

I'm really excited to try the DDP. We don't eat out often at home and we've been limiting our spending because of the wedding, so this is a treat for sure.

Now, if you lasted through my long-windedness (I'm even worse in person), here's our plan of places to try:

Ohana (repeat for us but we just love it)
Biergarten (Justin's request)
Le Cellier
Trails End (Breakfast - Wanted to try it for dinner but breakfast fit better)
Raglan Road (I'm in it for the bread pudding & I've been wanting to return since I did not love it the first time)
Narcoossee's (My pick. I'm in it for the lobster/filet combo and the almond crusted cheesecake)
Tusker House (This one's negotiable but we do want to spend some time at AK. If not this, maybe Sanaa for lunch).

So the only one that's not new to Justin is Ohana, and I've only been to Ohana, Tusker House, and Raglan Road. Lots of new places!

YES for Narcoossee's!! I may have said this already but we ate there in Nov. and the almond crusted cheesecake is now my favorite Disney dessert :cloud9: Not to be confused with my favorite Disney snack, school bread lol. But that cheesecake was beyond delicious!!

YEAH for a trip in April!! Your TR was FABULOUS and I can't wait to read this one!!

I'm VERY interested in your reviews for that trip because for our upcoming June trip we also have Raglan Road (our 1st time EVER and our first dinner of the trip!) AND Narcoossee's (also our 1st time EVER!) but also b/c I don't see the lobster/filet combo on their menu anymore and that was MY entree of choice that night!! so PLEASE report back if the combo is still on the menu (or a mini-menu), but just not listed on WDW anymore...

OMG, I am in it for the filet and lobster, LOL! I sooo hope that is an option. I'll be sure to let you know. We have done Raglan Road once (I did it on a girls trip) and it was good, but I chose poorly for my entree, so I'm excited to give it a second shot.

I got that push pop thingy at France in October and it melted everywhere too. I gave up and when it fell on the ground I took a picture because I was in the UK watching the band there and was not going back to France til after the show. The CM tried to say it had been to long but I showed her the picture and she gave me a refund. I will not try that again this year. I love the Chase lounge. I have the Disney card so I got preferred seating for Rick Springfield(my whole reason for the trip) and Sugar ray. They sang all their hits. Hanson not doing it seems weird. I loved your report and am thinking of changing my Chef Mickey to Boma now for breakfast.

WOW!!! I had the very best time reading your wonderful dining report! I loved everything about it! The pics were awesome, the descriptions were great. Excited now you guys are going back. Yey! :)

Great review! I'm sad that it's over.

Thank you! :)

I figured it wasn't just me since the thing clearly had some issues, but that is so nice that they gave you a replacement! I agree, I won't waste my money again. It definitely wasn't cheap. Sugar Ray and Rick Springfield sound like great shows! I was bummed when Hanson didn't sing mmbop.

Boma was absolutely DELICIOUS! I have never been to Chef Mickey's, but Boma was great (no characters though). Thanks for reading!

Thank you sooo much!!! I really appreciate it.

Aack! You're going again in April? Lucky you!!!!
Looking forward to another review! :)

Yes we are! It will be a quick trip, but I bought an AP in November with the plan to go with my mom in March. That fell through and we bumped our trip back to the fall, so we decided to squeeze one more in before Justin's AP expires in June.

Just found your trip report. Even though we have been many times in November we only got to food and wine once for one day! Looking forward to our next trip which the whole time will be food and wine. I am really wanting to spend one whole day just eating around the world without any ADR! Love all of your reviews good and bad!
