Mice Chat Reporting Disneyland Hard Ticket Christmas Parties

On event nights, the info page says mix in starts at 5 for an 8-midnight event. Anyone know or have an informed guess when they’ll be kicking non-ticket holders out of DL that day? Or what park hours (DCA especially) might look like? Have a trip planned the week of the 11/16 event and this was an unexpected wrench we are absolutely not going to buy into. Can’t help but feel robbed having reduced access to DL yet still paying full price for the day.
Disneyland will close at 8pm for regular guests.

Honestly, that’s not much earlier than usual for a random Tuesday in November. 🤷‍♀️

I have been super anti-ticketed Christmas parties at DL, but this one seems pretty harmless. Only a few week nights, none of the normal entertainment trapped behind a paywall… the way it’s set up, it’s not going to detract much from the normal guest experience. Which is great. My concern is what it will morph into for future years… I have a feeling we’ll look back on this fondly in a few years. 😬

The way I'm understanding it is 8pm park will close to regular day guests [actual hours are not yet posted for Nov/Dec]. This is based on the "4 hours" quote from event website, as event is 8pm to 12midnight. With even ticket purchase, you'll be allowed in park to mix in starting at 5pm (that is 3 hours prior to 8pm)

*I would assume you can plan on park closing at 8pm on 11/11, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, 12/9.

The way it works is, at 7pm they will start funneling non-special event guests out. They set-up checkpoints around the park and check for special event wristband and/or lanyard. If you don't have one, they will start to force you towards the exit. Don't expect to do too much between 7-8pm. At least this has been the way it has worked in the past.

I apologize if I missed this earlier in the thread - I think I read everything and haven't seen this question.

Does anyone know why Thursday, Nov 11th is $10 more expensive than the other dates? It just seems odd...

It’s the first day, so there’s an excitement factor to being “first” at a new event. For sure all the bloggers will want to be there to get their reviews in first.

It’ll also be the first showing of ACF of the Christmas season and all that.

For those that have gotten tickets to special events like this at DL....what time do they typically go on sale? I know it is tomorrow they go on sale but any idea what time? I will be out there with my daughter and her boyfriend and would love to get tickets. We did the Villains After Hours Party at WDW last year and it was well worth the extra cost imo.

Somewhere it said no earlier than 9 am Pacific (though I can’t find that now). Based on past releases, at or around that time buyers will be randomly placed in a virtual queue for who knows how long until their time comes up and they can buy tickets.

Edit: it was the Disney Parks Blog article on Friday that said no earlier than 9am. I’m inferring Pacific because it’s California.

Awesome! Thank you for the info. I was looking all over and couldnt find the time. I’ll try and roll the dice tomorrow at lunch my time (I’m in NY) and see how it goes. If we can’t get tickets then we will always be able to park hop over to DCA once they move us out of DL.

Be aware that you will likely be in a virtual queue for HOURS. This is not something you will be able to accomplish on your lunch break.

I had to wait almost 4 hours in a VQ just to buy my Magic Key pass.

I appreciate the heads up. Thankfully I work at a desk and can be here as long as it takes, and since I am the boss I'm not worried about keeping it open on one of my three screens while I work.. Only thing that worries me is if the internet goes down at some point and I lose my place in line.

Queue-It Tips:
  • Use multiple devices, preferably on different networks. (Laptop on the home or office WiFi; plus Phone/Table over Cellular data)
  • Find and Copy the Queue-It link (a specific URL for your place in line) to a Notepad app. It allows your place in line to be recovered if there is an interruption or even passed to another device.

That is great advice... :flower1:

So where will the link to buy tickets show up tomorrow morning? My friend and I will be trying at the same time and keeping in touch via text to see who gets in first. If we get in. 🤣

So is it better to call at 9am or order via laptop? or phone? All 3? Where can i find the queue it link?
Thanks!

I think going the multiple online route is the best from the sound of it. I did see on the site where you can only order them online and not over the phone. Also, no Disney Gift Cards...only CC for payment. Glad I saw that part before I got one from Target.

I've never tried calling. I've only worked the Queue-It system online (laptop, phones & tablet).
See attached screen grab with the Queue-It ID marked with a red arrow. Click on that link to find/copy the URL for your specific place in line. Good luck!

This is probably a dumb question, but will there be a link on the DL site sending me to the Queue-It portal? I've never done this one before so it is new to me.
