Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Good morning. Its quiet here now. Both the kids are at school. I think they have both "checked out" for the year. It happens every year about this time. Its a challenge to keep them focused, but fun too. I am looking forward to summer also:)

Happy Monday Ladies.

This is the last week of school for DD as well and I think she has also checked out. We were so happy not to have to study this weekend; we forgot what that felt like. :yay:

Have a good day!

Morning Y'all,

Did anyone remember to watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition last night? I boo-hooed my way through it.

What great weather we had this weekend! I had a good one, DD had passes to the Jewelry show at the convention center. Didn't buy any jewelry but did buy a lot of the stuff!

Alexis is off in WDW this week! They are having a great time at SSR!

Let's hope we are not in for a flood today. Kyle is graduating, I know Kathy's going to cry a river! Hugs for Mom.

Congratulations to Kyle!!!

Congratulations to Kyle!!!

I watched with my box of Kleenex at my side. :sad1: It definitely brought back lots of sad memories for me.

Congratulations Kyle.

I watched EMHE crying as well. This weekend has been a very hard one for me, this depression can't be normal.:sad1:

Kyle- I'm very proud of you! Congrats!

Kathy- I'm even prouder of you. You have raised a wonderful boy (man) in a world that doesn't really make it easy anymore. You've endured the last couple years with true grace and class. You keep all of us girls reigned in on a regular basis, and stopped smoking. You've managed to keep from filling the freezer with Johnny, and convinced him that fried green tomatoes do make a complete meal. I am in awe.:worship:

I know you're sad- but you are truly an amazing person. There's still so much to look forward to with your "baby", it's just a new book in the series.

Kathy, I soo agree with Lori! I think the way your feeling is totally normal!!! As you can tell watching the EH last night, really got to me & Tricia too. Everytime I see it, I get really upset still. So that on top of everything else you've dealt with & your boy graduating, you are going to feel really down.

When DD graduated from HS, I didn't have any of this other crapola going on & I was REALLY depressed! I mean it got to me before grad & for her whole fresh. year at LSU. So yes I think it's normal. Just know you've got friends to help & with that young man of your's, you have a lot to be proud of!!!

Lori & Sheryl -

I can't thank you enough, your words have touched my heart.:grouphug: I'm sobbing but feel better about it, if that makes sense.:sad1:

Sometimes that's the only way to get it moving out of the system. Yell, if you need anything. You already have my good thoughts and prayers my friend.:grouphug:

I watched the show as well. It was very touching and heartwarming.

Kathy - hugs to you. I too have been going through a bad patch but I think I have hit my stride now. With time, love and medication I am happy now.:goodvibes

Hey y'all! :flower3:

Just a quick check-in! :wave2:

Kathy- to you. And congrats to Kyle! :wizard:

I missed EMHE- was it about New Orleans?

7:00 at the Alario Center. He wanted to go to Outback after but since the Hornets are playing he wants to get "Outback to go".:goodvibes

Thanks a lot Terry.

Kathy, That should be great, no parking hassles at the graduation! Call Outback when you leave & Kyle will be home quick enough for chowing down & watching the Hornets! Hope you enjoy it! :goodvibes

Hi Lorie! Oh you missed the show with the family in Westwego & the Baptist Church in the 9th ward. It was really heart warming to see. But still hard to see the bad pics all over again.

Ah, I see. Probably best I don't see it. We drove to the lakefront a few days ago because we wanted to sit on the seawall- drving through Lakeview is bad enough. :guilty: It's so strange because in my mind I still see Lakeview the way it was, but when I open my eyes and look at what is actually there (or not there) now, it is truly unbelievable. Just shocking. :sad2:

It was a good show, the rest of the nation needs to see it. They also highlighted local heroes. Just not something we want to see again.

Sheryl that's so true. It was so hard for me and brought back so many bad memories but I am so glad it was on. I really think the rest of the country thinks everything is back to normal. Last nights show should be an eye opener to lots of people.

Tricia, It's really good that such a popular program actually showed what real families are going through. It needs to be seen, but it just ain't fun to watch. :sad1:
