Memories of the DREAM come true ….. 08/09 All 30 days done!

Your boatwrights meal just confirms for me that I want to keep our ADR in december. How absolutely yummy it looks!!!

Oh, Karen, how thoughtful of Ellen! So many wonderful DISers. :goodvibes

LOVE the photo of Tom in the car - the palm trees in the background make it perfect! Also, another great photo of the two of you - you both always take such nice photos! I avoid the camera as much as possible; do not want to scare small children...or DISers.:lmao:

Boatwrights is such a popular place and your dinner looks yummy! We ate there just once several years ago, but did not have a great experience. I'm never over near POR anymore, but should probably give it another try. It generally has great reviews. :)

Even though I don't visit WDW as often these days, we were blessed to go very often for 30 years, so like you and Tom, while I love the parks, do not need to do the attractions over and over again. What I enjoy most is strolling through a park with friends and doing whatever - attractions, dining, shopping is all fun with friends. Disney is enchanting - sharing it with friends just makes it more so.:goodvibes

As usual, have some catching up to do :rotfl:....and happen to have some time right now, so off to enjoy some Karin TR writing! :goodvibes

I could not believe it, when we opened that parcel - such a wonderful and thoughtful gesture! And it came in VERY handy at CC! :thumbsup2

We have always loved Boatwright's, especially when they still served breakfast, but dinner was always a hit with us too! It's a shame it got such harsh reviews a while back. You should definitely go back!

Hope you enjoyed todays installments - more to come, but my headmistress informed me this afternoon that I have to fill in for a sick teacher tomorrow for 5 hours - no fun, and I needed to do some work to keep my pupils occupied! :rotfl2:

What a neat gift. That is so thoughtful!

It was such a wonderful gift - we loved it! :goodvibes

Love the picture of Tom in the Mustang! The food at Boatwrights looks good! If we were able to swing going to WDW in late summer or fall this year which mod resort would you suggest? We have never tried POR, I no nothing about it.

We really enjoyed driving the Mustang. It's one of Tom's favourite cars and he was lucky he got exactly what he wanted both times! :thumbsup2
As for the moderates - we LOVE POR and always make a request for the mansion houses (in February we are going to stay in a Royal Room with a river view!) I just love that "gone with the wind" feel of POR. The gardens are beautiful and the food isn't bad either! ;)
We stayed at CBR too, in a Pirate room. Loved it too, but the resort is huge and we were glad we had our car to get around.
CSR has beautiful grounds as you know, but the lack of service last time just turned us off.
The only resort that doesn't appeal to us at all is POFQ - don't know why, but it doesn't draw us in.
If it were me, I would go with POR.

What a thoughtful gift! And Boatwright's looks really nice, too. I would stay at POFQ in a second, except that I'm scared of the buses. That's one thing CSR's got...excellent bus service. :lmao: Then again...as you can see by my current plans, I've been a bit spoiled by the deluxe experience, too.

It was such a wonderful gift! Ellen's name was mentioned ever so often! ;)
I am not a huge fan of POFQ, I love POR and you know, having a car, we never worry about the buses.
We love the villa resorts, the space you have is just amazing! And I cannot wait for summer and the CR. :cloud9:

Karin Boatwights has been on my radar for some time !! The food looks very good !!I also was intriqued by the pork chop and cheese grits !!The pecan pie was also on my list!!!!So I guess for this meal I go with Tom!!

Rosie, I am sure you (and your guys) would love Boatwright's. The cheese grits were devine! And the bread pudding was awesome!

Love the car, and Tom looks good behind the wheel. :thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed your meal at Boatwright's. We've not been back there since our REALLY bad meal in 2007. We still have too many places we have yet to try so I doubt we'll be bck to give it another shot.

Tom loved both his cars this summer! It was a really wonderful vacation with everything working out so well.
Don't tell me about having restaurants still to try before going back to give something else a second chance - our end of the list restaurant at the moment is Narcoossee's. Had really bad service and even worse food! :scared1:

I really hope you will love your meal as much as we did - the first mac and cheese I liked! :thumbsup2 Soooooo good!
And so easy to just pop over to the "neighbours" ;)

Silly, Karin! ;) I enjoy EVERY installment of EVERY PTR and/or TR....if I can just keep up, i.e find them all!!:lmao:

Well, preparing for an unexpected class not a fun way to spend an afternoon :sad1:...5 hours is a long time...almost the entire day. What happens to your class?

Hope it is great group of kids and the time flies by tomorrow!:goodvibes

I am glad you enjoy every installment! ;) Not that I had doubts. :rotfl2:

It would have been my "short" day tomorrow - only 2 lessons 9 - 11! :cloud9: Now I am stuck at school until 3.30 :scared1: And I don't even know the class, oh well, I will after tomorrow. :rotfl2:

Hey, we're on at the same time!! That calls for a dance!!:dance3:

Yes, we were, but it looks like it was not for long. :sad2: No fun when you are 6 hours ahead of your friends. ;)

We really enjoyed our visit to Boatwright's, such a nice leisurely and yummy dinner!

We were stunned by MamaPotts (Ellen's) generosity and thoughtfulness! DISfriends are the best!

Glad you came over from Jen's TR. I really love new readers - so much fun to get to know new friends.
I hope you'll like what you are going to read ...... there are lots more adventures ahead of us! :goodvibes

what a great start! I SOOO wish I went on vacation for a month!!! ;):lmao::goodvibes Gosh, that must be nice! I understand the reason behind it, but being American, just can't grasp it!!

Looks like you are having a great time so far and yeah on the Dis meets!!! :thumbsup2

Mmmm, dinner at Boatwright's looks great! I have never eaten there, but may have to on another trip.

So nice that your friend sent you some sunblock! Sweet! :goodvibes

I truly have no idea how I have managed to miss your trip and dining reports so completely for so long (especially given the fact that we're virtually next-door neighbors, seen from the US!:thumbsup2).
Today I have finally found you, though! I am really enjoying both your trippie and your dining report, and I shall definitely visit some of all those others ones you have written (boy, you've been productive! :worship:)

I am especially looking forward to that part of your report when you get to your Dream b2b2b, as I am currently totally obsessed with Disney cruises and desperately need something more to tide me over until our next cruise in August '12.

Hi Karin....It's Elaine & Howie from the 8/28 Dream. I just found your trip reports and I am all caught up. I don't know if you remember us but we were talking with Jeff, Lily, & Karen by the shops one night. We were giving thumbs up or down when the CM was showing us the pictures. Can't wait until you're up to the Dream trip report so I can relive it through you.

We were off to a perfect start to our vacation and without getting ahead of myself, ....... it stayed that way.
Long vacations are the BEST! :thumbsup2

It was a wonderful meal, we enjoyed it a lot. You should give it a try next time. :thumbsup2
We were just so surprised and thankful about that wonderful gift we had received from a friend we only knew from the internet! :goodvibes

Hi, neighbour! Where in Germany are you?
I have been "silently" following your reports :lmao: but never posted ...... don't know why. :confused3
We are obsessed with DCL as well. In 2009 we cruised on the Wonder for the first time and before that I always said that it would be our once in a lifetime experience. By day two we were rebooked! :rotfl2: Did a b2b in 2010 and this summer we did the three cruises in a row. After this year's cruises we went home with another four bookings for 2012 and 2013!
Not much longer and I will get to cruising the DREAM, we took lots of photos while spending 11 nights on board, it was so much fun!

Just checkin' in !!Been down with a cold most of the week!!!

I hope you are feeling much better today, Rosie!

Hi Elaine and Howie!
Sure I remember you! Remember, we "bumped" into each other at the MK as well. It was a wonderful vacation, we met so many really wonderful people on board. And it is even better that we keep in touch even afterwards! :goodvibes

I hope to be able to post more tonight or tomorrow - work is a bit crazy at the moment, but I have a long weekend until Thursday! ;)

Day 4, August 16

Guest of honour - Part 1

We slept in a little that day and only got up around 8am.
We then got ready and were out the door shortly before 9am. Since we didn’t want to have breakfast in the room again, we went to our other favourite breakfast place, Wolfgang Puck’s Express. Even though we had arrived shortly after they had opened, the restaurant was already bustling. We placed our order, picked up our marker and our drinks

and found a nice table.
It didn’t take long for a server to arrive and hand us some cutlery and shortly after that our breakfast had arrived. Tom had ordered

his favourite, Wolfgang's Breakfast Pocket, Scrambled eggs, peppers, Niman Ranch Bacon, onions, mushrooms, mozzarella and cheddar cheese baked into Wolfgang's pizza dough and served with breakfast potatoes, while I just had to have my favourite breakfast at Wolfgang’s,

the Smoked Bacon Pizza, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and Ranch Dressing. We were in breakfast heaven. When we had finished our breakfast we spotted our favourite server, Maritza.
She is on her way up the ladder and is in training for another position, but when she saw us, she came over and we all hugged. We had brought her some Austrian candy for her little boy and she was stunned that we had thought about her, while away from Florida.
She told us her schedule and we vowed to come back when she was working. We then made our way back to the car to drive offsite and do a little shopping. Tom and I just love to browse through all those huge stores, so we went to Walmart and Target and spent a good part of the morning there.

Once we were done shopping we decided to make a stop at our favourite Krispy Kreme store.

IMG_0726.jpg

We picked up a dozen hot doughnuts and a large Diet Coke to share and sat inside the store to enjoy a doughnut or two. Once we had filled our sweet tooth, we drove back to Old Key West and hauled all our new stuff up into the villa.
We had a little time left until we were to leave again for our Fantasmic Package, so we decided to just stay put for a while.
Tom made use of the Jacuzzi, while I checked my email and did an update on the DISboards. Soon it was time to head out again. It isn’t very far to the Studios and we arrived there in no time. This is by far the worst park to park at for us. We either start a new row or park at the far end of the tram stop. This day was no different. :rotfl2:
We parked more than halfway down the parking lot, the tram stopped a few rows away :scared1: and it was pretty hot. Bag check was easy and even getting through the turnstiles was done in no time. We checked the tip board on the way to the restaurant and picked up a Fastpass for Startours before heading for our Mama Melrose ADR.

To be continued ..........

Great edition, Karin! Breakfast looks yummy - love the coffee and cola! Mine would be the cola. :)

I always like the way you and Tom go to visit other stores - it makes it more than just parks, parks, parks. While I absolutely love the parks, because we went so often, I enjoy strolling through and doing attractions as we come upon each one without a line - if I don't do it that visit, will likely the next or even the next.

Next visit hoping I am with someone willing to do ones I have done in a while. :)

Looking forward to your evening at the Studios! :goodvibes
