May the Force be with who? A May 2013 PTR

I've been thinking of ways to sneak in a few movie nights before our trip but DS's social and physical calendar is putting a stop to that! I think he has sleepovers planned for every Saturday from now until our trip! LOL!

I really want to sit them down for Saludos Amigos before we go. And I need to watch the boys and Waking Sleeping Beauty again. Both kids are on separate sleepovers and DH is about to go out with some friends. I was invited, but I just feel like sitting in my chair and watching TV while I work on my new business.

Sounds like a great opportunity for "me" time. Do it!

That "me" time is happening right now. I found out from my brother that I need to dump my entire system and start over on my laptop.

Everyone in the family is out at the ILs for dinner and I'm going to put in a movie and start backing up my files. :)

And now I'm 2 days behind again... (I'll do day 42 after they get home)

Day 44: (DD) Ride Under the Sea

Day 43: (DD) See a sunset

Um... I've lost a few days... oops!

Day 38: (me) Watch the flag retreat

Day 37: (DH) grab a beer in EP

Day 36: (DH) see Goofy

I'm off to call DVC member services. My friend had the time share certificate transferred into my name in the 10th. They were supposed to do it on the 6th. I called the folks at DVC on the 16th and they said the transfer hadn't taken effect yet.

I was so stressed that I started to get misty. I'm 36 days out and I haven't booked ME OR DDP. They told me to call on Friday, but we had heavy flooding all through my town. Most of the area schools cancelled but we went. They dismissed us 2 hours early due to the growing threat of rising water.

My son's little league is under water completely. All that is left is the second story press box. Everything else is submerged. :( Navigating all the rain plus trying to squeeze in photo shoots have shot my week. This stupid rain and flooding has cost me almost $200 Disney dollars...

Oh no!
:(
You don't need this stress!
This should be almost the best part of your holiday - the final planning & everything looks set phase....

Oh no!! Hope it all works out ok... Good luck with MS!! Hope the error is on their end and not with your friend, so that they can resolve it quickly!! Big big hugs!!

The certificate of transfer finally went through so I was able to get our ME added.

After a bit of sticker shock concerning DDP, I am back to the drawing board. It gets really expensive when I have to pay for DD... :scratchin

As for the rest of my day, I went out and photographed the two ball parks that were under water PLUS my nephew's game. The one park should be good to go as early as next week.

Our park on the other hand... I honestly don't think we'll be able to play there this year. The entire park is under water (with the exception of the press box). Park benches have been displaced from up the creek and deposited where they shouldn't be. Our groundskeeper shed and restrooms are completely under. There is a picnic table sitting on top of some bleachers and a dugout.

I knew it was bad, but I wasn't prepared for what I saw!

Overview of the park:

This post used to be in the ground and lining our driveway to the park:

A new park bench:

From the driveway:

Back left - the bleachers; middle - a picnic table; right - dugout. Front of the pole - some fencing that belongs attached to the bathroom building:

Bathrooms (left) and groundskeeping building (right):

The press box should be between the two blue tarps. The current was so strong that it knocked it on its side:

We are supposed to get more rain this week, too.

Our coach just called and said they plan to play this weekend...

I am so sorry bout the struggles with DVC. Glad you got it worked out though...

and the rain!! OMG! That is a lot of water!!!

Luckily everything got resolved.

I sat down today and tried to make paying for DDP upfront NOT worth it. And I couldn't.

Even if I drink water at every meal (and consider we're paying OOP for a TS meal), I'm still $30 over the price I was told for DDP for us. At least with DDP that would include a drink and dessert. And I'm sorry... I WANT MY DESSERT!!!! :rotfl2: If I pay OOP for everything, I'd be shorting us on a lot of the things we are looking forward to.

And besides, I can't imagine going to Le Cel and not getting some chocolate moose. That's just not an option!

Would you believe it if I told you that there is NO water remaining on the baseball fields I shot yesterday?

In 24 hours, all the water receded. The damage is still pretty severe. We've got a lot of work ahead of us at the ball diamond. I told the league president that I'd give him all of the pictures I have (from both days) to turn into insurance.

I also discovered that the part of fence that I thought was in the picture with the picnic table on top of the dugout was actually the bleachers that used to be in right field. They are now sitting on top of the fence:

Shoveled debris:

Pumping water out of the back of the park:

This guy gave up using a rake to remove dried debris from the fence. He went for some more power:

One of my two favorite shots:

This is actually a 1/4" thick layer of mud that was deposited on top of the brick dust. As it is drying, it is curling, much like the top layer of mud on most playas in the west.

Here is my other favorite shot. If you really didn't know what was going on, this is a really pretty, peaceful shot:

Water drains away real quick!

But the clean-up is never as quick.

Hope you get the diamond back in operation soon.

Day 35: (DH) See Goofy

Day 34: (DH) Go to SWW... again (since we are going two days)
