MAY Countdown!! This is it, folks

Just checked the Disney grad nites site and found they have added additional dates during our stay, despite being there for 6 days we will only have 2 days that are not grad nites. :( We've spent a fortune booking our trip, coming half way round the World and specifically designed it to include the least amount of grad nites possible and now Disney go and add additional dates. :( Ok rant over, sorry guys, just so worried our very expensive and long planned trip is going to be ruined by masses of highschool kids with special fastpasses. Booking in advance is neccessary for us coming so far but this time it has really been to our detriment :( Guess we'll have to wait and see how they affect the crowd levels, fingers crossed it doesnt too badly and they dont add any more additional dates.

Special fastpasses? eek. I guess I need to go read the grad night thread. I know that most days during our trip there will be grad nites, so I am a bit nervous of the crowds being full of highschool kids (unchaperoned?). I hope everything goes smoothly for those of us braving grad night days!

We'll be in the parks May 7-11, off to visit relatives for Mother's Day weekend, and then back in the parks May 14-17. Many of our days are Grad Nites events, as well. We're just going to hope for the best (ie: that the kids won't be in the parks early in the mornings, etc.). Heading into it knowing that we're going to have to be mentally flexible.

We don't have to come from halfway across the world, as DisneyDreamsDancer does....but it's still a 12 hour drive each way and is also costing us thousands of dollars. So, I'm also really hoping very much that the event doesn't put a huge damper on our visit. We've been planning this trip for almost 2 years.

Just go early, as soon as the park opens and enjoy! I highly doubt they will arrive before noon.

We will be there May 29 - June 1, staying at the Residence Inn Maingate. We are WDW pros but haven't been to DL in about 10 years so it's time to read up. :surfweb:

Hi there! WDW fan here! :goodvibes Yes, a lot of reading, and relax too! DLR is great!!!

20 months here  It won't if you don't let it.. as I told DDD, just arrive at park opening, that's the best tip EVER that I've received for a wonderful day at the parks.
And welcome!! Your dates are added on Post#1.

May 13-16th, staying at the Park Vue Inn. Hubby's mom is joining us this trip.
Hi there! I also added your dates, welcome! :goodvibes

BTW, I updated Post #15 (reachable from Post #1) with more info about Rehabs that I just found out today.
And how about that crazy calendar, huh?? it only confuses me every day!!

I can't believe I haven't already posted here...already on the July thread for summer trip.

DH and I will be there May 18-21, couples trip to celebrate graduation. We're staying at the HoJo. :thumbsup2

Our very first trip to Disneyland will be May 13-17 and we're so excited!

This was originally supposed to be a 30th birthday trip for my cousin next spring. When our family decided to take a trip to Hawaii next June, Disneyland started to look complicated. I suggested pushing it back to 2014. My cousin suggested pushing it up to August. Then a couple of weeks ago, we joked about going in May and now the trip is booked! We can't wait to finally be there! :yay:

My Granddaughter (17) and I (over 17) will be headed to stay at the Grand Californian on May 18th for 4 nights. This will be out first DL visit.

Disney World Oct 2011
D23 scavenger hunt/Boardwalk May 2011
Caribbean Beach Dec 2010
so many other visits

Annadette, I am looking into using the Entertainment Rates also but how did you go about it and how much is it per night? TRYING to plan for the end of May.

We'll be at DL May 8 - 10th. :cool1:

Welcome too, added your dates! :wizard:

BTW, noticed that the May Calendar is coming up nicely? Of course, when your browser lets you see the dates, they come and go as they please!
But today I saw that dates until the 1st week of May are up.. if you have trouble looking at the daily schedule, you're not alone! I've finally was able to see today all the schedule for my dates, but sure was a pain! :surfweb:

YAY! We will be there May 1-5, staying at Days Inn Maingate...it's the first visit for my in-laws, and part of my Father-in-law's 60th birthday surprise!!

I'm not sure whether they have to be chaperoned and I havnt read the thread here on the grad nites I just checked Disneys officially website for the nights and one of the 'perks' they are advertising for the grads is a 'special' fastpass. Not sure what that is, maybe is is valid for multiple rides? :confused3 I'm keeping all fingers and toes crossed it doesn't affect park crowds! :thumbsup2

Thanks, we usually lie in and dont worry about being at park open due to jetlag but we will definitely try to be at rope drop every day I think! :thumbsup2 Almost at the mouth to go count!! :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure there has to be some chaperones since it is still technically a school event, not with every group but there should be adults there with some of the kids. If it's anything like my high schools grad night (which was at a different amusement park) the adults will probably either be helping prep for the 'grad party' or hanging around to make sure kids don't mess around too much. But you never know, it could be differnt now. :confused3
I think the fastpasses they get are for any rides they wish to use them for, at least that's what I've gathered. I'm really interested in the information about grad night as well, because on the last day of our trip it's going to be a grad night and we reeeeally don't want a bunch of high schoolers making long lines! :scared:

I am going May 7-10 :goodvibes I have no hotel as of yet...but I did make a WOC reservation at Ariel's for May 8. I also hope that the grad night isn't packed on May 10th

I just have to say because I can barely contain myself! Today it will be 30 days until we return to visit the MOUSE!!!!!:cheer2: It's been 755 days since Dh and visited and 1050 days since the girls saw the MOUSE!!! YEAH! :woohoo:

I hope I did the math right!:rotfl:
