Ok i am soo stressed out right now that i wish vacation was right now do to a bill that just came in this that is due right before we leave we have had to cancel some of our stuff we had planned on doing while on the cruise. so with that said it looks like we may not be doing paradise beach as i don't want the 20% charge extra on my credit card and i won't have the extra cash either now. we also are forgoing the massages too..i just hate this as i also wanted to order a goody cruise pak from goodypak.com for amber but i am not doing any of that now seems like this month has just been getting worse and worse for me instead of better.. and to top things off its snowing again right now tomorrow has to get better right??

hope everyone else is having a better day then me right now.

I'm sorry for your troubles too, Tracy. I really hate those unexpected ones. Like when I accidentally forget to make a payment and then a double is due...
Madison and I were working on our goodie bags yesterday. They really are too young for Ryan and Jonathon though. Tracy, do you know about how many kids are coming to the meet? I counted 18 (I think) on the mail list. Does that sound right?
DH said, he would get the luggage down....not yet though....
Sherrie are you flying down to Orlando? I just called American and they said they do not require any forms to take Madison on a plane across country. I know there is one required by Disney, but apparently any ol' Tom, Dick or Harry can bring a child on a plane as long as they don't leave the country!!! I almost have a problem with that. I think I may have my daughter get something notorized any way just to be on the safe side.

Yes karen we are flying, no qustions asked when i booked with her last name. we do have the notorized medical paper so if need be we can show the airline that, Plus we all have passports. But come to think of it we have flown with her to WDW for the past 4 yrs and never needed a thing. No one ever asked. Yes that is scary that someone can hop a plane with a child without anyone questioning whose child it is.

well i had figured up for us that we would need roughly 30 for the round trip taxi, 50 for lunch/drinks for 4 of us, the boys said they would want the toys so it would be 18 for that , and then we was talking about the parasailing and that is 55 per person times 4 ..well that adds up..and i could put it on the credit card but i read that paradise beach charges an extra 20% on top of your purchase if you use a credit card but i am calming down a bit now i got out my cross stitch and worked on that for a few hours tonite to let my mind relax.. wonder if they would let me bring that on the cruise with the needles and all..


karen..yeah i rounded up and figured 20 kids but got enough for at least 24 i think just in case we have a few that meet us that didnt say they were planning on it. i need to put my things in bags yet and i am going to do the little frisbies we will just have to watch the kids so they dont fly them overboard Lisa and I was discussing the older kids and all..we figured they was all old enough to start a conversation on their own i think there is 3 teens on the list to greet.. they can meet and such and then make their own plans plus i think all 3 teens were boys anyways. and we know boys dont like gifts from each other especially strangers

I can't believe the airlines not requiring that kind of stuff..with this day and age of higher abuctions and everything else. i would think it should be required to have a signed note from the parents oking it. I know the last time we flew was in 2000 and they had us bring the kids birth certificates for the cruise and the only thing the airline did was give us weird looks since the boys are half mexican and both of us are bright white...

I agree it is scary my children have flown all over the US with there grandparnts and with out any question. Even the last names diffrent on the tickets didn't even cause a eye lift. But if you cary to big of sewing scissors then well they check everything.

I am still watinig for the kids passports to arrive it has been over 7 weeks since I have sent em in. I check online and they are still being processes. At least they got there. I think tomorrow I will call the passport agency and se if they will be here by May 2. Seeing we are having to fly out on the 4th and head down to the airport on the 3rd.

isnt that sad..more worried about scissors and liquids even then abduction of kids. with the 9-11 ordeal it seems like they could care less about some child being taken and hurt on an airline but they are very secure at making sure you don't bring liquds, razors, etc. with you on your vacation.

I am going to try to talk dh into taking me to Best Buy today for a computer. I am having some very serious withdrawals. Granted, I can occassionally borrow dd's to check email, but I can't play with pictures or make the gift I started for my "new friends"!!!! I need a printer...... ... Actually I have a printer and I hope it works on Vista Vista is my biggest concern. I have so many programs that I am not sure will run on Vista. But when I asked around, I could only find xp on refurbished computers. I sure don't want to buy an old computer.
Well, wish me luck, maybe I will be back later with my own computer!!

i had to get off some of my sinus meds so i am more energetic today..taking both strong pills was just doing me in..i even gained a lb... so i am doing just the one for now and see how it goes..so far its not too bad so with my extra energy today i am doing and packing some more stuff ( or at least getting a few more things organized) also doing stain removal from some of ambers clothes.. i wasnt going to take my laptop on vacation with me but with a couple of bills due that week and i wont have time to do it before we leave i will have to do it while in florida before we hit the cruise oh well could be worse i guess

hi wdwpirates...the cruise documents should be going out sometime this week or so...if you booked your cruise thru a travel agent then your documents will go to them and then your agent will get them to you. if you booked directly thru disney then they will send them directly to you. they normally send the documents by fedex, dhl, or registered mail (at least they did back in 2000) when i called about it at the end of this past week i was told we should start receiving documents roughly around the 20th - 25th of this month hope this answering your questions

Yes everyone, I am still here! I have been trying to eep up with the posts but have not had the time to post myself! Tracey...we are dealing with the same financial stresses that you are but try and let yourself relax! I finally got to the point where I said I don't care what I do as long as I am on that ship! I told my husband I really did'nt care after awhile that I could not spend what I wanted on stuff (clothes included), I am really going to try to relax and not sweat the small stuff like dressing to a tee, etc. I'll be thinking of you and hope things get better!

Weather: well we have about 60 degrees or so and it doesn't feel too warm to me!

Tracy: I hear ya on the financial thing, we actually cancelled our Coz excursion and decided to stay onboard as a family and maybe get off to shop, but otherwise just take advantage of a nearly empty ship!

Documents: I seem to recall that last year (we sailed this same sailing) we got our docs about the 20th or so of April. We use Dreams, but they have the docs sent directly from Disney. Tracy had it right on the other TA's, they will get them first then send them on.

Computers and Printers: Well my printer just went kaput, so now I don't know how I am going to make our tshirts!
I went online and can get some from Zazzle, but after Ryan took so much time to make the design for ours, I hate NOT to use them! I just can't afford a new printer right now. DH is using our entire tax refund to build his new garage! What is it with men and their garages?

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, despite some of the weather some are having.

As I type this dh is out in the garage building a work bench. A LARGE ONE!
I did not get a computer today, but I found one I wanted at Fry's Electronics. We don't have a store close by, but there is one just down the street from where dh is teaching at the sheriff's academy tomorrow, so he will pick it up tomorrow night. Now, after all that, I hope my printer works with the new Vista or I will be sending it off to Lisa!
I got my luggage tags from WDW, to use from the cruise to PORFQ last week.
Tracy, I am glad you are getting better. My cold came back unexpectically during the middle of the night. I could not sleep at all. I need to get better soon. The medication that works the best of course costs the most and I am tired of buying it.
Glad you checked in Fl Kim, you were missed. And where oh where is Pppiglet?? And freezing cold Kim, how is the new job?

Karen, to protect yourself and Madison have your daughter fill out a notarized affidavit not only giving you permission to travel with her but to contract on Madison's behalf should she need medical treatment. Here is a sample that I drafted when I took my niece to WDW last summer and fall.

The job is good, thanks for asking. Boss seems great. But there is a level of disorganization unlike any I've ever seen before requiring me to complain my very first week. But what can you do...it was seriously unacceptable. I don't even have computer access yet At least they had the keys to my car ready for me.

Lisa.. thats about what we are going to do as of right now...just get off do some piddly shopping for our pin and such and then spend the rest of the time on the ship.

KimberlyC.. thats an awesome idea there...covers all your bases for just in cases and my opinion is better safe then sorry.. when we travel with the boys we always bring their birth certificate that shows my dh is their father, the custody papers showing we do have full custody of them,our marriage license and a current picture of all of us, as well as we get government ids for each of the kids..i know probably overkill but but we have had to provide some of it at some point in time. this time around i am only bringing the birth certificates and passports and thats it since jonathan is old enough to travel without having the permission of the other natural parent as well.

Fl Kim ..i plan on relaxing no doubt about it. and we dont even worry much about the clothes and such..we are just bummed that we cant aford do the extras like massages, parasailing, etc. is all..not the first time this has happened to us. i am delaing better with it today as i calmed myself down. but dh said since i have to take the laptop we will be bringing it with us on the cruise as well.. ugh...but at least i dont have to worry about not having enough memory on my digital camera now as i can download to my computer thruout the week.

Karen.yeah i would think your printer should work with vista but if it doesnt go to the printer website and see if they have an update for the drivers for your printer as most times thats all they need to work with a new operating system....and what is PORFQ??

with my extra energy i got all our suitcases marked with colored electrical tape, put our luggage tags that i got from disney.com on, and amber helped me put the gift bags together for the kids, but as soon as i sat down tonite i started coughing really bag. i just hope when we get out of this goofy weather then maybe it will go away completely. and i hear ya on the expense of meds. i have 3 different type sinus meds and and all 3 are name brand and they dont have generic for them.

Its been lovely and warm here in the UK so feels like holiday time!

I hope they mail our cruise docs out before the 25th as we're leaving on the 26th for the aiport! No worries, we'll just sort it out at the port if necessary!
