May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Danielle,

What stateroom are you in? My partner Lisa and I are in 7570, and our friends are in 7568 and 7572.

Linda

We'll be just down from you in 7576. This was a great room for us as it was right next to the green lights that are on the wall, so the girls always knew where our room was.

We'll be across from you guys in 7072. :cool1:

Great! It will be so nice to have DIS neighbors onboard. Brandie, After being neighbors on our last cruise it seems only fitting that we will be neighbors on this cruise too!

Just pushing us to the top again!!! :)

Also, the oceaneer's club is set up as 3-4, 5-7...so they probably wouldn't play together in the OC. My little ones will be in the 5-7 group. I'm curious to see how that works out. not that much difference between the 3-4 year olds, but 5-7 is a pretty big gap, I think. Guess we'll see. We've been watching the planning video from last year to keep us in the mood! I've also started looking at my Passporter book to see what excurious we might want to do. Obviously with the 7 night (versus the 4-night), the excursions can get MUCH MORE expensive so I'm weighing what to do, the cost, the fact that K&G will be 5, etc.

Also, for those of you that know me...I am in SERIOUS vacation withdrawal...the weekends of the zoo, Sesame Place and such are great, but MAN do I need a vacation... :thumbsup2 Just over a month...already started pre-packing (which has consisted of packing a suitcase full of snacks and breakfast type items since we're staying off-property in September).

Well, my (will be) 5 yo DS will LOVE to play with your (will be) 5 yo DS & DD; he's a very social little guy!

I know what you mean about super advanced planning! I've already decided we're doing the aquarium and butterfly conservatory in Key West, Stingray City and the turtle farm in Grand Cayman, and I'm still deciding, but leaning toward Chankanaab in Cozumel! At least you have September to look forward too! We've just got the long haul until May (although an end of summer day trip to Sesame Place, to bookend the one we took in June, is definitely in our future).:yay:

Isn't Sesame Place awesome? I swear we're there AT LEAST 1 day each weekend. But then it's only about 35-40 minutes for us. Can you say SEASON PASS? We were there yesterday...only for about 4 hours, but it was enough to go, do some water stuff, do some dry stuff, have lunch and come home (at which point I took a 2 hour nap). :rotfl2: I think I may be getting old!

I'll join you in feeling old. I need the nap just as much as Fiona!

Yeah, Sesame Place rocks for folks with preschoolers. We got the 2 day pass, because it's more like 2 hours away for us. Have you ever tried Dutch Wonderland? I've heard that place is fantastic. It seems like all the best parks for little kids near us are in Pennsylvania.

We haven't taken DS to WDW yet. He's only into the mildest of rides and he's easily overstimulated, so we figure we'll try to work in a couple of days at the parks when we do our cruise when he's six. I can't wait!

We're actually mixed. Kendall doesn't always meet the height requirements, but she definitely has the will! We have a video of her with her hands high in the air on the Grover roller-coaster. Gavin HAS the height requirement, but not usually the will. We went to Storybook Land (near Atlantic City) on a field trip and he went on the roller coaster. I was STUNNED. That helped us convince him to go on Grover's and he liked it. WHOO HOO! We may have had a breakthrough. Now, if we can get him on Goofy's Barnstormer, we'll have the trifecta! (ha ha). Never been to Dutch Wonderland, but I have heard it's pretty cool. Storybook Land is kind of cheesy in its decoration, but all the rides are geared for littler kids so it worked out very well.

Ciao!

Hi everyone. Wanted to hop onto this thread since we will be sailing on the 5/3/08 Western also. It will be me, My dd (6yo), my sister & my parents. We got connecting cat 6 cabins & late dining.

It will be the 2nd cruise for me, dd & my sis (we were on the DCL Eastern in March 2007). For my parents it will be a first.

Would love to get to know some people before hand this time so that Avery (dd) has some friends to play with in the club & stuff.

Anyone thought about excursions yet? I'm still undecided. But I do know I want at least 1 spa treatment. They were so nice last time.

Looking forward to getting to know ya'll :)

Alison

WELCOME TO THE GROUP!!! SOME OF US are already acquainted because we met on the 4/26 4-night Wonder cruise, but all are welcome!!! :)

I imagine your little one will be in the OC in the 5-7 group so she'd be with my two munchkins (who will be 5 at the time of sailing).

It's a fun group...welcome!

I haven't decided definitively on anything yet...still perusing the book. I have $400 in stateroom credits and am trying to figure out how best to use them...We'll probably just do our own thing in Key West...debating on some snorkeling in Grand Cayman and I'm pushing DH to do the Tulum tour thing (which is $100 bucks, but an all day thing) at which point I'd stay mostly on the ship (since I've been to Cozumel) and do a spa treatment...we shall see. PLENTY of time to figure that out!

Welcome aboard! You were an early poster on the other thread, which doesn't seem to be as active anymore as this one. My DS will be 5 by the next cruise, so he'll be in the Oceaneer Club with your girl and Dawn's twins!

Being the crazy planner that I am, we're tentatively planning on doing the aquarium and butterfly conservatory in Key West, Stingray City with Captain Marvin's and the Turtle Farm in Grand Cayman and tentatively, Chankanaab in Cozumel. On Castaway Cay, we plan to just rent a floatie and enjoy a relaxing day on the beach!

Me! Me! Me!

Me and the sexy smoking hot man in my icon will be on the Western for our 2nd Cruise. It's for our 3rd Anniversary and we are sooooooooooo excited!

ME! DH and I will be there for our 3rd Anniversary! We can't wait! And, don't let us bring home any "souvenirs!" hahahaha

Dh and I are planning on a 5/3/08 Western without kids. :thumbsup2 We love our "with kids vacations" but try to do something alone every other year. We've not done an adult only cruise yet, but DCL seemed like the logical choice as we love it.

We are hoping to book while on board in 29 days  I have gotten quotes from various sites incluing DCL.com and will come to the rebooking desk prepared! I hope to leave florida this September having booked two new cruises and joing DVC! Dh is on board with the May cruise and leaning toward DVC, but I'll have to keep working on him for the Spring break cruise.
I'm applying to a grad program in the fall which would start fall of 2008 and much of my time will be consumed from fall '08-spring '11, so a Spring break or Christmas cruise might be easy to talk him into.

I look forward to meeting you all. I'll have to search out the other thread too.
