May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

I'm sorry I'm not sure what Atlantis is (besides the one in Nassau). Are you maybe thinking of Poseiden's Fury in Islands of Adventure? If you are, well then I can assure you that you haven't missed much!

It's kind of a cross between a show and an attraction in that you "walk through the show." It's a whole lot of standing, skin-on-skin contact in dark rooms with special effects. You move through rooms as the story unfolds. We did it once, hated it. Tried it several years later and decided "yup, still hate it!" :)

If the new Simpsons ride (Universal Studios) opens right before the cruise, I may convince Mike to go to Universal before the cruise. Keeping my fingers crossed, and if anyone wants to try the "Dark Side" before or after the cruise, I am most happy to help!

Yup, that's the ride I was thinking of. Thanks for the reassurance. We just didn't want to "waste" a half hour walking around when we had the park to ourselves.

The Spiderman ride was intense! I really liked it.

Oh, and *chuckle* from the concierge thread. I'm working on it, I'm working on it...

Brandie

Oh, yes, you know you want to upgrade! :)

Poseiden's Fury does take about a half hour, and I'm sure you had much more fun doing whatever else you were doing instead! We love Spiderman as well. I can ride that over and over. Mike sometimes gets a little motion sick after a spell, but I slip him a Bonine and tell him: Buck Up, little soldier!

It's nice to see some activity in this thread again!

Jodie and Mike, welcome to our little group. Several of us met last April on the Wonder and all booked again for this cruise.

Brandie, NOTHING is going to keep Lisa and I as well as all our friends from going on this cruise. In fact we all just booked the Royal Swim in Cozumel and are SO incredibly excited about that. We are also looking forward to as many meals in Palo as we can book.....both brunches and dinner.

*dancy dance* Goody goody goody! :yay: :dance3: That's fabulous to hear!

Anybody care to rescue me? I need to cook dinner, and I can't figure out what to make with the leftover cooked hamburger meat from last night. Remember, I can't use milk or milk products, so I'm feeling like I'm in a canoe, far from shore, without a paddle! :rotfl2:

What's the Royal Swim?
This is my first Disney Cruise and I'm so excited. I'll be trying to get Palo for my birthday. Jodie and Mike, I'll probably see you at the adult pool, all our kids are grown and we'll be on our own (if you don't count my sister who's comming too). We also have the late seating. Maybe we'll see you in the dining room. Can't wait.
I'm happy to see this thread come to the top again. Sue

Sue,

The Royal Swim is the dolphin swim offered directly through Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel. Lisa and I were going to do the Dolphin Encounter on our last cruise, but we had to return to port and our Nassau Day was switched and we did not get to do it. We decided when we booked this cruise that we were not going to miss the Dolphin Swim. We booked directly through Dolphin Discovery as DCL only offers an encounter. With the Royal Swim you get the dorsal pull and the foot push.

There will be six of us in our group. Lisa and I are second timers and our 4 friends will be on their first DCL cruise. One couple has never cruised before. We will also have late seating. We had invited our friends on the first cruise and several of them looked at us somewhat Skeptically and said " a DISNEY cruise???" When we showed them our pictures and the peaceful serenity of the adults only areas of the ship and Castaway Cay they were sold. We are really looking forward to sharing this experience with all of them.

As for other things planned....many fruity drinks, maybe a snorkeling excursion on Grand Cayman, more fruity drinks, lots of relaxation, parasailing on Castway Cay, even more fruity drinks........

Linda

Ah, I know what you mean about adult friends saying "DISNEY cruise??" My SIL and BIL turn their noses at us going, even though they are avid cruisers. They like HAL, and while we do too, HAL really is an older demographic once you move past a 7-day cruise. We would never dream of going on a HAL cruise with just the 2 of us, but we like DCL cuz we can have fun with just the 2 of us. It's just a younger, more upbeat crowd. Hopefully, that makes sense!

Thanks Linda- I'll have to check it out. Fruity drinks sound good. Hope to see you all on board- Sue

Man, that sounds like an awesome vacation!!! :thumbsup2 I can understand being so excited! :rotfl:

What excursions are you thinking about booking?

Welcome to the group!
Brandie

Thanx,

We planning to book nothing voor Key West and do it by ourselfes.

For Grand Cayman we're thinking about stingray city plus island tour, but we're not sure yet. Also there are 2 options there with snorkeling or a semi-submarine and we don't know yet.
** so any tips are very much welcome.

For Cozumel we're thinking about Tulum. We're pretty sure about that one.

At this weeks DIS podcast my email was discussed about the shore excursions and they were a great help.
They made me help to make the discission about Cozumel and probebly also with Grand Cayman tour.

Welcome to the group...Some of us on this blog did the 4-night Disney Cruise last April and loved it so much we rebooked for May '08...Look forward to meeting you!

Separately--I changed/updated my pics...took the first one before we went to MNSSHP (where it RAINED, RAINED and then RAINED some more). The second one is from Downtown Disney. Whaddya think?

Dawn McG

Dawn, you look a little too chipper to be the Queen of Hearts! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 How many heads were you chopping off??? :rotfl:

I -love- the pictures! I especially love how your son is squinting on the picture with the ship's wheel! Fiona has that same shirt your daughter is wearing, too!

Awesome! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing! Your kids are sooo cute, and your hubby seems so personable, too.

Brandie

I was very excited for the kids and was So looking forward to the party. I got tons of compliments on it at the party (until the rain ensued and caused major crankiness) where heads were close to rolling. :lmao: :rotfl2: Think I could wear it for formal night? :rotfl:

I think that would be fabulous for formal night! What's DH going to wear? I'd almost pay money if he could be a knight!
