ME! DH and I will be there for our 3rd Anniversary! We can't wait! And, don't let us bring home any "souvenirs!" hahahaha

Ditto for us! :goodvibes Actually, our anniversary is in August, but it will be 3 years for us next year as well. No souvies planned for us either. ;)

Thanks for the welcome Brandie! I look forward to getting to know you all a bit more! :grouphug:

Evidently, we're all having a busy summer, so we haven't posted a lot lately. My company's re-organizing, and I find out what I now do today. :) No worries, nobody lost their job or anything, but I don't have an immediate supervisor today. I'm hoping to steal my old (very wonderful) supervisor back from where she got moved to. :thumbsup2 She's intrigued, the boss with the empty position is working on her, and I'm trying to push what a wonderful opportunity it would be... ;) She'd have a smaller team, too, which she'd love. We'll see. Either way, I'll still work from home, so I'm happy.

Kiddo started the "Big Kids Room" today! She's 2.5, and she's been bouncing off the walls happy when she visited the 3 year olds room for the past few months. She was allllll about the fun to be had in the 3 year olds. They have scissors and crayons there! And they play on the BIG playground! *eyeroll* So, yeah, she's going to have a great day! The director is moving a group of the girls at the same time. That will tip the 3 year old room from being a LOT of rowdy boys (climbing tables, yelling, running around crazy) to being a quieter group, too. At least, that's my hope. I pop into the day care every so often and I've seen my daughter's previous teacher being "dressed" for her day quite a few times. Boas are soooo the thing, don't ya know??? :rotfl:

Anyway, have a great day!

Brandie's right, it has been a busy summer.

Things began to heat up for me in early July when my review team from the state arrived on the very first day they could. The kids were not having any of it and the visit did not go well and we had 45 days instead of the usual 60 to fix all the deficiencies they found. It turned out well though as we were able to put in place lots of little things that will make group home life easier for all.

Then, just as I got things at work fixed I ended up with 2 abscessed teeth! I am extremely dental phobic and have avoided having any work done for way way too long. I ended up needing to have 4 teeth extracted and now am dealing with complications and a dry socket in one of them. I am feeling better but not great. I can't wait to be back to my old self again.

Still in all, nothing will keep Lisa and I and our friends from meeting everyone on the cruise in May. I can't believe how fast the time, and the time to pay for it all is going!

Keep in touch everyone!

Linda

Linda:

For me, it has been three days since the re-org and due to a massive computer failure, the meetings to find out what we do for jobs have been cancelled for everyone. Not a good thing. As my software hasn't been impacted, I'm just trying to stay out of everyone's way. Pretty easy when all of your meetings get cancelled so the participants can be elsewhere! :)

I also caught a summer cold, so I'm doped up on Benadryl. Fun times. Doesn't come close to your dental issues, Linda (and here's another  for good measure), but I would love to be able to sleep!

Ya'll have a good day!

That is so cute. Such a big deal to move up rooms, My baby started all day  kindergarten today. :teacher: What am I going to do with myself. I had all intentions to start folding laundry and what am I doing...:surfweb: dis'ing. LOL. I have a huge to do list that I want to work on. I can't believe how much cleaner the house is going to stay without all the kids in it all day :woohoo: , but it's so quiet. :rolleyes1

Busy, busy here too! DS had to have a second set of ventilation tubes put in his ears, as they've been full of fluid since the last set came out eight months ago! He wasn't hearing anything below around 40 db! This time, they took out his adenoids as well, and the ENT says this should improve the success rate of the procedure this time around. I hope so. Helping the poor little guy come around from the anesthesia wasn't any easier this time than it was two years ago!:sad1:

After DS was clearly on the road to recovery from his procedure, DH and I used all the air miles we had from when DS made us abandon our flight to DCL last January (long, long story...think planes, trains, and automobiles) to take a trip to Chicago for two days. It was nice not to have to play mommy for a couple of days!

Can't wait until May

Linda, you aren't going to have to drop out of our cruise, are you? That dental bill is intimidating. :scared1:

Brandie

Just checking in too. I can't believe we are at the 8 month mark already. Time is flying.:cool1: I have been busy too. I started a new full time job in July so my summer has flown by and I can't believe the kids start school next week.

I am already shopping for the trip; for the kids anyway. I haven't found anything for myself. :sad1: Oh well, I shall keep looking.;)

You've got time! :rotfl:

I hadn't noticed we were at 8 months--thanks for the pick-me-up! :thumbsup2 This time is passing fast AND slow... Just have to get through winter and then we'll be on a boat! :dance3: :cheer2:

I just booked this cruise 2 days ago and it's our first Disney cruise. I would love to meet some of you while on board. It's just me, my husband and my sister and we just joined DVC too. Can't wait- Sue

Welcome Sue!:welcome: Glad to have you join us. We have a pretty good group here so far. I think I have counted about 20 families that have chimed in on this thread.

Hi! I hadn't seen this thread. I had posted on the other, but that one is just sooo sleepy!

It's just hubby and me. Late seating. Deck 8. Second DCL. 6th cruise. Other stats and blood pressure and cholesterol available on request. ;)

Looking forward to meeting everyone. :)

*chuckle* *wave* Hiya!

What are you looking forward to on the cruise?

Brandie

Hi back! We are looking forward to the Quiet Cove pool and Palo!

How about you? :)

Kiddo will be 3 on this cruise, so I'm hoping I actually get to see the adult sections on this cruise because she'll be having a blast at her club. The only time I got to see them on our first cruise was when I was helping a lost little girl find her mommy. The little girl said mommy was in the adult pool, mommy said she had told her she was someplace else. Pretty unnerving, because the kid was maybe 5!

Hubby is interested in the "whirlpool on the verandah", so we might go check out the Spa villas. I also want to do breakfast on the verandah and have kiddo enjoy her club. It'll be interesting to see if Fiona can survive the long dinners at the restaurants. Dawn and I hope to eat together, but we'll see if that happens (there was a mix-up when we called to link our reservations to eat at the same table).

For excursions, I am thinking XCaret. I'm also thinking of sending DH parasailing. It'll be payback because he babysat Fiona while I did the stingray excursion last time.

Sounds like a plan! :goodvibes

We are Mike and Jodie, btw. I say this because everyone winds up calling us Alex and Vanessa due to my unfortunate choice of sreenname!

We like to sleep late and hang by the pool for the most part. We are very much looking forward to Key West though! As an old English major, I will be dragging Mike on a tour of Hemingway's house. And, I do mean drag.....

I was hoping to get Mike to spend a few days in Orlando before the cruise (I know it's sacrilege in these parts, but we are Universal Annual Passholders), but we are going several times this year, and he just wants to spend a day or two near the port before hand. I have a feeling I'll get my way some way or other! :)

I really enjoyed my night at Universal last May. I went to Orlando for a convention, and they rented out the Islands of Adventure park for us. We had a blast running through the lines with no wait.

I missed Atlantis, though. What's that one like?

Thanks for the reminder about Key West. I think I'll get pie on a stick there. :thumbsup2

Brandie

I'm sorry I'm not sure what Atlantis is (besides the one in Nassau). Are you maybe thinking of Poseiden's Fury in Islands of Adventure? If you are, well then I can assure you that you haven't missed much!

It's kind of a cross between a show and an attraction in that you "walk through the show." It's a whole lot of standing, skin-on-skin contact in dark rooms with special effects. You move through rooms as the story unfolds. We did it once, hated it. Tried it several years later and decided "yup, still hate it!" :)

If the new Simpsons ride (Universal Studios) opens right before the cruise, I may convince Mike to go to Universal before the cruise. Keeping my fingers crossed, and if anyone wants to try the "Dark Side" before or after the cruise, I am most happy to help!
