May 28, 2011 - 11 Night Mediterranean Sailing from Barcelona

I don't think there will be a firework for the arrival of the Disney Magic in Barcelona. Those you see on youtube were related to the inaugural mediterranean cruise in 2007. It was to celebrate the first ever coming of the Disney Magic.

Home from work ill today with a nasty flu. I'm the last in my family of 4 to get it, fortunately it seems to have a short shelf life. So what do I do with my unexpected free time? Rat around the DISboards. The old hands will be familiar with most of this, but I found it helpful/interesting and thought maybe some other newbies would as well.

Here is a thread for pictures of food aboard. Lowest page numbers are from years ago, but still quit fun.

In all our cruises with Disney we have never dressed up for Pirate Night. Just curious if anyone else wil be dressing up?

We won't be doing Pirate night as that is the night we are going to Palo for dinner. We won't be dressing up for formal either because I feel the dress I have is not formal enough and husband doesn't want to dress up alot. The only thing we are doing is semi-formal.

Pirate Night - we participate and go to dinner much more casual than normal. It will be a long day and late night that day! I have seen men even wear nice shorts to dinner with a nice polo or "pirate" or "party" shirt.
We will do the formal night dinner, but I would say in semi-formal dress. I just didn't want to bring 2 mens suits and dress shoes with us due to packing space. From our pasts cruises my son and husband are just fine in their navy jackets and a tie for formal night. :flower3:

We always get out our pirate themed t-shirts, tie on a few bandanas and slap on a few temporary tatoos! The family pictures on pirate night always end up being our favourite!!!

A week from now we will already be in Barcelona - I am so excited I hardly know how to get past that final week :rotfl2:

So much looking forward to this trip, to the Magic, to the beautiful ports, and to meeting new people and maybe making new friends!

Safe travels everyone. I am on the June 18th 11nt sailing and looking forward to everyone's comments, reports, blogs, navigators, etc

Here are the name tags that I made. I made one for every adult on the roll call for which I actually had a first name. If you are on the roll call and have not provided me with names I have not made one for you.

Unfortunately I do not have a way to laminate them. They will fit in the little pocket that people have on their lanyards.

If anyone in our roll call would like one and your name is not listed on roll call, let me know and I will make one for you also.

Cindy, thank you so much for making our nametags! They are great!
Can't wait to meet everyone. Next week this time, we'll be in Barcelona!

Hi all. I have a few questions about the cell/internet services that are being offered. Is anyone doing the cellular or interent service with Cellular Abroad? If so how does it work? Or are we better off using the internet cafes on the ship? Do we get interent service while at sea or just in port with either Disney or Cellular Abraod? Sorry for all the questions but need some answers thanks. :confused3

I'm up late finishing up our FE gifts -- having so much fun, too! Just a quick question about our FE 'guidelines' -- are we supposed to identify ourselves as the givers in some ways, or are gifts anonymous(e)? The general FE thread seemed to suggest that it could go either way depending on the group doing the FE.

Anyone? :) I'm trying to finish packing everything and want to make sure I don't overlook any details ;)

We are leaving from California at 6am tomorrow and I just saw something about name tags. Could someone please message me how to locate ours and when I get to New York I will print them out at the hotel....then after a few days off to Barcelona !!!! Yippee !!! We can't wait to meet everyone !

Travel Safe everyone...see you in ONE WEEK !!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

I can't believe that we will be on the magic in one week!! I hope that I can get everything done by then. ;) Looking forward to meeting everyone and to having a wonderful cruise. Safe travels.

We leave for Barcelona on Tuesday and are in the final stages of packing this weekend. Kids are excited and we look forward to seeing everyone on board. Good luck and safe travel to all.
