May 19 - 24, 2014 San Diego to Vancouver

So I received a reminder email today from DCL and the picture it showed was of pirate night, not to mention below had a tab I could click. So I'm confused. There isn't a pirate night? If so that's false advertising and disney should correct that. There was a note on the link about Pixar Pals but noted it was for the Alaska cruises.

It also said there would not be a Formal Night on this sailing.

The Cast Member that I was just talking to said Pixar night is 05/22 and there is a dress up night - but it was not noted which night dress up night is.

It's been a crazy week at work. One of our preschool teachers quit, so I had to change classrooms to take over her class. It's been crazy trying to get the classroom organized and the kids on top of things. Hopefully things will come down next week. 15 days until we head to Disneyland for a week! I'm off to go buy more FE gifts!

Anyway I could talk you into mailing me a handful of park maps? I will gladly pay for postage. I want them for crafting purposes, not for reference, so it wouldn't matter which ones were sent.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to attend the cruise meet at 3 PM on embarkation day. We have a boarding time of 1:30 - 2:00 PM and will need to check with the dining staff regarding allergies, have lunch, get to our room, etc. We'll do our best to make it there in time, but chances are we'll be rushed to do anything before the muster drill at 4. I'm sure we'll see a few of you around the ship.

Cannot wait! Less than six weeks to go.

Sure thing! Just shoot me a message to remind me. We leave on the 20th.

Cross posted on the FB page as well. My SIL and I are planning on spending the day before we set sail at the San Diego Zoo--I guess a Disney trip without a lot of walking just wouldn't be right, :rotfl2:, so we are looking for some guidance. Here is what I posed on FB--

San Diego locals, some of us are looking for information on the San Diego Zoo, not basics like hours, cost, etc., but recommendations on what to make our priorities. In looking at the map this zoo looks huge. I have been before but it has been 20+ years, so I recall very little. It looks as if the zoo is not doable in one day, at least for slower folks like me, so what do we need to make we do not miss? Better places to eat, good shopping? Thanks in advance for your help and ideas.

Any word on the private mixology class - if not no worries - figured it might be too early

This will be our 7th Disney Cruise, mother/daughter vacation

We love our Disney Cruises. Have been going once a year since 2005, had to do Aulani the past two years, but we are trying to fit this one in as I was having withdrawals.

Daughter is a cm of dlr so we are doing this last minute hoping scheduling works for her and it is a short cruise and of course starting in CA, makes it ideal for her and I to see each other for a WONDERful mini vacation.

We will be amtracking from Anaheim the morning of, she has to work to the last min...

But still finguring out a hotel in Vancouver for Saturday night on the flip side, nice and cheap, well let me rephrase that inexpensive.

What is everyone else doing and if you stay in Vancouver what are you doing for that day. I haven't read through the 58 pages of post yet, sorry if everyone has already answered these questions. I saw the post for the shuttle to the hotels and airports on the first threads, nice they are at the beginning.

Since we haven't cruised in 2 years, will they have a formal night and a pirates night on this 5 night cruise?

Welcome to the cruise!

There will not be a pirates night on this cruise. I think formal night is the 2nd night, but I'm not positive.

The Manor Guest House is nice B & B in Vancouver. We hae stayed there a few times--wonderful folks and nice accomodations.
