It took forever to catch up on this thread. My DS had a stomach flu that was going around school it seemed like most if not all of his class got it. He was throwing up all night poor thing but the good thing is that that is why I could catch up on the thread because we couldn't go to all of the soccer games and birthday parties and DH is working all weekend. I was happy he got sick over the weekend and it only lasted one night because that way he doesn't miss any more days of school trying to save them up for this trip:thumbsup2

Aaawww, poor little guy! I hope he's feeling better. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry about everything with Tyler:hug: :grouphug:  Be at peace that you are doing your best and that is great that you are proactive and doing both (testing and counseling) you have all your basis covered. Parenting is not easy and it has its ups and down. That is great that it may be something he cannot control because once its diagnosed with something you could treat it accordingly and he could control it then. You are doing the right thing:thumbsup2 As a mom all you could do is your best and don't worry what other people think your #1 priority is Tyler not your EX or anybody else because in the end you are living with Tyler and have to raise him mostly. You are very blessed to have a boss that cares:goodvibes
His dad told me today that he made an appointment for the free counselling through his work. The appointment is Tuesday. He says he was told that first they want to speak with the parents to hear about what's going on, then they'll set up a 2nd appointment so Tyler can be evaluated.

Tyler's stepmom told me that like dad, she's also convinced it's nothing physical going on. Mainly because her stepmom, who is a retired firefighter, told her that any effects from the lack of oxygen at birth would have shown up right away. I nicely told her I do appreciate her checking around for advice from others, but that her stepmom is not a neurologist or doctor, and so I still want to get that part checked out, even if it means just narrowing out that possibility. She said, "Well, I'm just trying to get ideas" and I told her I understand that and am grateful for her input because it shows how much she cares about Tyler, but that I just want to have every possibility checked out. She understands that, but dad is dead set against it. Oh well.

She also told me that maybe they're not strict enough with Tyler because she says she sees how strict I am and that they always threaten punishment but don't follow through like I do. Then his dad admitted that he always gives in to Tyler. I'm thrilled they finally see that, so at least this whole ordeal is having a tiny bit of a positive spin.

Holly congrats on the 40lbs lost...you deserve a few outfits that fit until your done losing more. I hate shopping for clothes too but maybe with the weight lost and this cruise you'll have fun shopping for May:cool1:
Thank you! :dance3: If I keep losing at the same rate (5 pounds/month), I'll reach my goal in April!!!! Right before the cruise! I've always wanted another tattoo, but told myself, even before I started losing weight, that I'd save that as a reward for reaching my pre-pregnancy weight. Now, it's really looking like I might make it! :yay: I'd better hurry up and write a good story to send to the Miami Ink show! I jokingly told friends & family that's what I want to do. It's really just a fantasy of mine, but I suppose I could actually try now. :woohoo:

V - Isn't Kentucky playing your Gators next week? I don't think I would like to play them next week!! Good Luck!!

Yes --- I have been SCREAMING!! John and I are at odds...he wanted LSU to win, me UK...I don't care about the SEC championship at this point. Our season is over. But we should have beaten LSU. They are not that great.

LSU sure walked all over VA Tech. VA Tech is overrated at 12. Tyrod Taylor (the 18 year old QB) got injured today...something with his ankle. Glennon, the QB they benched during the LSU game came in and played great!! I guess he had something to prove.

I am trying to upload the pictures from Homecoming and my battery died on my camera so I am charging it now. I thought I would post beach pictures fro last weekend. The weather was just perfect.

The thread is really slow tonight....where is everyone.....watching Cleveland??

Lisa, those pics are well worth the wait! I kept patiently checking every few minutes to see if you posted them. All I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW! I never knew homecoming was so formal. I love Vanessa's dress....everybody looks great! But I have to say the expression on the guy 3rd from the left in the group photo absolutely cracked me up!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just found 2 cruise meet threads for my 11/29 mini-cruise. One has 2 pages and the other has 3 posts. Oh boy.....they're not gonna know what hit them when I start posting! :rotfl: :lmao:

That is Matt. He is my best friend's son. The boys were not too thrilled to be there, my guess. I don't know a lot of these kids because I did not raise a child this age. There were 4 church kids there.

This family whose house they took the pictures at has a 9th grader and an 11th grader. The 9th grader had his friends there first. Another dear friend (she is the youth minister at church and preaches purity to all the teens) had her 9th grade son there. His date was very well endowed (sp?) and her dress did not cover up very much. Sharon was livid!! The mom of the girl came over and apoligized and Sharon said "Well, you bought it for her."

There is a sleep over at my house....girls only.

Oh, I remember my prom pics. My friend Debbi & I doubled with our dates who were twin brothers. A few of those pics showed similar expressions on the boys' faces! :rotfl2: I think it's just the awkwardness of the age. ;)

The well-endowed girl....is she by chance the one sitting next to Vanessa in the group photo?

ETA: Nevermind. I just read the part about the well-endowed girl being the 9th grade boy's date, so he wouldn't be in your group photo. Sorry.....I'm a little slow tonight. Tyler went to bed early tonight (7:30), and I had a couple beers afterwards.

Its sad that it takes all this for him to see that he is giving in to him:sad2: It's good your checking everything out early. Ok they say they don't think its anything neurological then ok check him out anyways and rule that out but it doesn't hurt to find out then you could focus on whatever other possiblitlies there are. You may really want to check out an allegist to do a scratch test on his back I had both my kids tested at 3 by their allergist(who is also a pediatrician ...I got lucky) and my DD is not allergic to anything (well sunblock but they didn't test for that) but my son is allergic to a whole bunch of things just like my DH. It doesn't affect his behavior just his breathing/asthma/hives but I have some friends that their kids allergies affect their behavior. My friends DD is allergic to food dye yellow and red in particular and her fourth grade DD acts naughty if she has it and can't control herself she's old enough now that she knows not to have certain foods because she doesn't like how it makes her feel. You'd be amazed where they have food dyes...pickles and some potatoe chips have yellow food dye in it:confused3 My DBIL is a fifth grade teacher and swears against red food dye. Long shot or not its worth a shot. I guess its like process of elimination or trial and error until you find what it is and then find what works. I'm very impressed on how well you handled Tyler's stepmom...you mantain harmony well and it seems like you are on the same page hopefully your ex will jump on board :sad2: I'm glad your going through this now while he's still young it will help him longterm. Good Luck on Monday and Tuesday:thumbsup2

she looks great in the silver dress ...I was wondering what her dress would look like...very pretty. Glad to see they were in a big group as a parent that would make me feel better and it should be more fun:goodvibes
