Its sad that it takes all this for him to see that he is giving in to him:sad2: It's good your checking everything out early. Ok they say they don't think its anything neurological then ok check him out anyways and rule that out but it doesn't hurt to find out then you could focus on whatever other possiblitlies there are. You may really want to check out an allegist to do a scratch test on his back I had both my kids tested at 3 by their allergist(who is also a pediatrician ...I got lucky) and my DD is not allergic to anything (well sunblock but they didn't test for that) but my son is allergic to a whole bunch of things just like my DH. It doesn't affect his behavior just his breathing/asthma/hives but I have some friends that their kids allergies affect their behavior. My friends DD is allergic to food dye yellow and red in particular and her fourth grade DD acts naughty if she has it and can't control herself she's old enough now that she knows not to have certain foods because she doesn't like how it makes her feel. You'd be amazed where they have food dyes...pickles and some potatoe chips have yellow food dye in it:confused3 My DBIL is a fifth grade teacher and swears against red food dye. Long shot or not its worth a shot. I guess its like process of elimination or trial and error until you find what it is and then find what works. I'm very impressed on how well you handled Tyler's stepmom...you mantain harmony well and it seems like you are on the same page hopefully your ex will jump on board :sad2: I'm glad your going through this now while he's still young it will help him longterm. Good Luck on Monday and Tuesday:thumbsup2
Thanks Gina! I did plan on asking his pediatrician about having him tested for allergies based on things our fellow cruiser allergist mentioned long ago. Hmmm.....was it Kaylee? But thanks for the reminder. :thumbsup2 Somebody at work also mentioned the "evil red dye".

And regarding Tyler's stepmom, I just wanted her to know I'm open to trying all avenues and to let her know I appreciate her being open to everything since her husband is so against certain routes. I could tell she was very hesitant to express her concerns and I was just trying to put her at ease.

I've been popping in and out here, paying bills online, and trying to work up the motivation to go clothes shopping. I absolutely loathe shopping and have just been wearing baggy clothes, but I can't avoid it any more. It was difficult at work yesterday running around with one hand holding my pants up! :rotfl2:

Have you tried online shopping? I love it, I absolutely hate to go shopping for clothes and now I buy most of my stuff at Lands End, they have a great return policy.

I also need to get a haircut, but hate doing that as well. The beautician always wants to chat about my life and I just want to sit and get my haircut. :rotfl: Is there a nice way to ask her to please just cut my hair and don't chit-chat?! :lmao: Just kidding....I could never bring myself to do that. That's why I only get my haircut about once a year! ;)

LOL, same here, I get my hair cut about once every year, and since I don´t use a hair dryer, or dye it or anything, it tends to hold well the entire year. Can´t understand those ladies that go to the beautician and tell them all about their personal lives :confused3

Our house is starting to get cold too - but I refuse to turn on the heat until Nov 1 unless it snows! House temp is down to about 64 at night, and the outside is in the 40's. I like lots of blankets too though - Amy is the opposite - she doesn't even like to sleep with a sheet!

OMG!!!! 64°f at night? We were in Orlando a few days ago and we had our AC on 78° because anything lower was too cold for us!

morning all. I took the day off today. I am a bit worse than yesterday. I am going to pick up some more decongestants and try and sleep. The girls are home with me so that may be a bit hard!

I hope you are feeling better by now V!

I am an excessive planner. I am not happy unless I know what is going on, and when. Before I get in the car, I plan my route in my mind, and figure out the quickest way to get from A to B. The only surprises I like are the ones I plan for other people to surprise them.

Lack of planning gives me stress . . . unless someone else has planned it for me, and I don't have to worry. I would really like to do one of those "Adventures by Disney" trips sometime, since they plan everything so I can relax!

Same here, DH loves to complain about how I have everything planned, but I have caught him giving great Disney advice to others from what he has learned :)

The visit at Tyler's school. His teacher provided me with a list of behaviors she sees him do. I met with the school counsellor (a social worker). They both, while being careful not to diagnose, since they're not allowed to do that, of course, really suspect something neurological or chemical imbalance, based on their experience in dealing with tons of kids and seeing lots of things over the years. Of course they're not trying to diagnose, just telling me that they really think the things he does are beyond his control. The counsellor recommends me taking him to his pediatrician and when I told her I didn't have much luck there before, she told me to specifically request a school problem assessment and she says that usually gets them acting quickly. Sure enough, we were given an appointment for Monday morning.

The bad part is that Tyler's dad is completely against taking him to the doc. He fully believes he just needs counselling to help him learn how to behave. Counselling won't hurt, so I'm just taking both routes. He'll set up whatever he can do through his employer. I've told him about the doc appt in case he wants to come, but he has no interest in being there since he doesn't agree. :headache:

But at least we have the ball rolling. Wish me luck please! :goodvibes And now I need to get it out of my head for the next few days and not think about it until his appointment Monday.

Good luck in you appointment on monday! Poor Tyler, but he is lucky to have a good mommy who doesn´t let this slip and takes good care of him.

Still feeling a bit "under the weather"...

Read all the posts, just not quite up to posting replies.

Hope everyone is feeling better, resolving issues, having fun planning trips, having a good day!

Karen

Karen, I hope you are feeling better now.

I am trying to upload the pictures from Homecoming and my battery died on my camera so I am charging it now. I thought I would post beach pictures fro last weekend. The weather was just perfect.

The thread is really slow tonight....where is everyone.....watching Cleveland??

On Oct 1st you can take your dog on the beach....so here is Goldie!!
101_2061.jpg

Here are Annie and Vanessa swimming. The lifegaurds are not on duty anymore....so I was a little nervous with them swimming.....the waves were not to big though....

101_2068.jpg

Annie and Vanessa on the beach sun tanning!!

101_2081.jpg

They are gorgeous! I also saw the homecoming pictures, I didn´t know either what homecoming meant, so your PP was claryfing. Who is Vanessa? I missed reading about her before.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just found 2 cruise meet threads for my 11/29 mini-cruise. One has 2 pages and the other has 3 posts. Oh boy.....they're not gonna know what hit them when I start posting! :rotfl: :lmao:

:rotfl2: But they will love you for livening their threads.

Hi again everybody, Yay! we have less than 7 months to go!

We have been well, and busy, busy, a trip to WDW in late april/early may, a trip to Acapulco in July and back to WDW late september/early october, and that combined with LOTS of work makes it impossible to keep up with this great thread, I hope to come more after Xmas when we get a break at work.

1. Are you married or single?
Married

2. Do you have brothers and sisters?
One brother and one sister

3. * Are they older or younger than you?
My brother is EXACTLY 2 years younger (I have always told him that he was born with the wrong foot) and my sister is 10 years younger than me.

4. Have you ever met a famous person?
David Copperfield, Randi, Sigfrid and Roy, Rocío Dúrcal (famos singer from Spain, arrived once to our office since she was planning to buy a condo in Mexico), Bora Milutinovic (he has been a trainer for our soccer selection on a few occasions, he too came to the office), Adela Micha (famous TV person, from the office), Consuelo Duval (famous TV person, from the office), and my favorite singers El Consorcio (Spanish).

Before El Consorcio ever came to Mexico, I spent a summer in Spain, and since I never thought they would make it here, I called their manager and asked for a list of places where they would sing in the summer. I could make it to one of the towns and wanted to know how to get tickets, so they told me to look for a white haired big man in the music console, so I arrived there early, looked for him and he took me to meet them, I could not believe it. They have come to Mexico many times after that, and now we are friends :goodvibes , I have seen them 5 times in Spain, like between 30 and 40 in Mexico (not counting all the times we have gone for dinner, and we even had a cooking class with them last year, lol), once in Miami and I travelled with them to Panamá last year. Sorry about the whole long story, but they are so nice.

5. What countries have you visited?
The U.S., Panamá, Bahamas, Spain, Portugal, France, Monaco (technically a Principalty), Italy and Austria.

6. What do you do on Sundays?
Sometimes we attend Mass, if the weather permits is we might go to the club, and tomorrow I am heading to the office since the vacations cost me dearly workwise, I can´t believe how behind everything I am.

7. What kind of people do you not like?
Selfish people who don´t care about others.

8. Who has had the most influence in your life?
My father

9. Would you like to be famous?
No
10. How many different towns or cities have you lived in?
Only one, Mexico city Metro area all my life

11. Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets?
Sunrises, though I haven´t seen one since our cruise last year when we had to be up for inmigration, lol.

12. What was the last book you read?
Janet Evanovich´s "Thirteen [something]"

13. What's your favorite food?
First mexican, then spanish tapas and then italian.

14. Do you live in a house or an apartment/flat or other?
I don´t know the diff among apartment, flat and condo, we live in a building that has 12 houses, one on each level and the elevator opens inside my house.

15. How tall are you?
5'7" (I think, 1.68 cm)

16. What are your hobbies?
Reading, travelling with my DD

17. What's something you do well?
I can read a map so I usually don´t get lost, or if I do, I can "find myself" easy, I bake yummy desserts, and can install children´s carseats well (no techs here, not even laws regarding carseats, and no one ever reads their manuals).

18. Which sports do you like to watch/play?
Soccer in the world cup, watersports in the Olimpics.

19. Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person?
Was a morning person, but now I live so tired that I am hardly a person, lol.

20. What is your motto?
I am not sure about the translation, the original reads "al mal paso darle prisa" which is something like "hurrying the bad step", and means that if you know you have to do something hard, or you don´t like, etc, it is better to do it sooner than later (i.e. bad news for a client, better answer his call right away and face him now and not leave it for later)

It's Brenda but that's ok ...I can't keep anyones name straight either...I vote nametags for our DIS parties:thumbsup2

JULIE! We've all been missing you so much! I'm so happy you came by to visit with us!

It's Brenda but that's ok ...I can't keep anyones name straight either...I vote nametags for our DIS parties:thumbsup2
OOPS! I'm so sorry....you know what happened? I saw the first letter (G) and my brain was thinking GinaMarie. I've had a couple beers tonight and my brain is VERY FUZZY! I probably shouldn't be trying to post at this point! :rotfl: It's been a long time since I've had more than 2 beers, so I'm not as coherent as I'd like to be! :rotfl2:

I was happy to see you on the thread again. I have a DD (5 on Tues.) and she is in her 2nd year of spanish immersion at her school so she will be so happy to know there will be someone at the kids club she could speak spanish to. To be honest she understands more than speaks but she is starting to speak some this year. My DS is only in his first year of learning spanish but is understanding pretty well already. I speak spanish and DH speaks/understands a little but took French in high school instead:confused3 Look forward to seeing you more on the thread.

Have a good night everyone:cloud9:

Hey V...LSU lost!! Great game!!

My, My, My . . . Cal lost too!

Looks like the Buckeyes (who won in a laugher over Kent) are in a good position to move up again! What will the rankings be this week?

Indians and Sox tied at 6.

GO BUCKEYES!

Oh....Julie, I forgot to mention. Online shopping is actually worse for me because since I have such an odd shape (as far as sizes go), I absolutely have to try clothes on first. Plus I'm short, so everything I think will fit, when I try it on, it's too long. :headache: No fun.

OK warning you all ahead of time, I'm highly inebriated, so spelling correctly is not at a premium right now.

The doctor told me 10% of all pregnancies were like ours. My regular jeans were too big for me the day I took Daniel home. I also remember her telling me not to worry about the baby, that he would take from m body what he needed. I never really worried about that...thank goodness.

This was 1989 and I was fired from my job since I missed so much work because of being sick. I filed a Title 9 case with the EEOC (dismissed due to pregnancy) and that lasted forever. That was a very difficult time in my life....but I got the cutest little boy ... who is now 6' 2" and wonderful!! You guys all get to meet him in just a few months!!!!

I can't wait to meet you and your son. You'll be able to meet Olivia too, but she's still tiny (only 18 months now). Even after all that sickness, I'm looking forward to getting pregnant again. Aside from feeling ill, I didn't mind being pregnant at all. I was a happy pregnant lady.
I actually quit my job once I became pregnant. I knew that the law firm I was working for wouldn't be condusive to my pregnancy. They wanted too much of me, and I needed to devote a certain amount of time/energy on taking care of myself. That would have never happened at my old job. You had to give 120% of yourself to the law firm!
DH and I are hoping to get pregnant again next year for a 2009 baby :)

I nursed each of my 3 for about 16-18 months. And yes it is hard work. After Gretchen was born (and I did not loss weight during htis pregnancy) I was over 40 and I said I cna eat anything I want, I'm nursing!!

Well I ate and ate and ate and I never stood on a scale.....nest thing I know I weighed 170 pounds.....and my wieght battle started. I should have been smarter.....

Yes, nursing is hard work! I nursed Olivia for 14 or so months before cutting her off. Of course once the nursing stopped, I gained a bunch of weight. Nursing burns a lot of calories! I'm still trying to adjust to burning fewer calories, and Olivia is 18 months old now!!

BTW- Beautiful homecoming pictures!!!

hunky new neighbor alert - ---- YUM! Two hunky lifeguards are playing football in the street and just so happen to end up in my yard every other throw!

Oooooh, can I come over and watch th eeye candy???

Game night was SOOO much fun. Of course now I'm feeling tired and slightly drunk! I have to get DH to go to bed because he needs to work in teh morning. Luckily, he's NOT drunk, just me!! I did win all three rounds of the games we played though :)

Indians WIN!

Trot Nixon, the former Red Sock and Indians killer comes through!

party:  party:

13-6 in 11 innings and over FIVE hours!

Now it is a best of 5 series, with the next THREE games in Cleveland!

Wahoooooooo!!!!!!!

Oh, I remember my prom pics. My friend Debbi & I doubled with our dates who were twin brothers. A few of those pics showed similar expressions on the boys' faces! :rotfl2: I think it's just the awkwardness of the age. ;)

The well-endowed girl....is she by chance the one sitting next to Vanessa in the group photo?

No the one next to Vanessa is not the one....this girl was a lot worse and she was a 9th grader. It was sad.....

ETA: Nevermind. I just read the part about the well-endowed girl being the 9th grade boy's date, so he wouldn't be in your group photo. Sorry.....I'm a little slow tonight. Tyler went to bed early tonight (7:30), and I had a couple beers afterwards.

Its sad that it takes all this for him to see that he is giving in to him:sad2: It's good your checking everything out early. Ok they say they don't think its anything neurological then ok check him out anyways and rule that out but it doesn't hurt to find out then you could focus on whatever other possiblitlies there are. Good Luck on Monday and Tuesday:thumbsup2

I hate to give advice Holly, but one of my friends had this exact same issue and it turned out to be WHEAT allergy. Celiac Disease

Have you tried online shopping? I love it, I absolutely hate to go shopping for clothes and now I buy most of my stuff at Lands End, they have a great return policy.

Julie, How are you? I think about you a lot!!

Wahoooooooo!!!!!!!

They said it has been 11 years since 1 and 2 both lost (1996) on college football.

That last inning of the Indians game was crazy. I thought about you....you must have been so happy!!!

okay 3am and the curfew was 2:30am for the girls....they came home at 2:45 but I had to text them to get home....

I am a little worried they will sneak out......

I never stayed out late.....never sneaked out ... lots of kids get caught doing that now. Daniel never gave me one minutes worry......so this is new for me.

Julie - hi, lovely to see you. With all those vacations I can see why you have been busy!!!:rotfl:

Lisa, just such lovely photos - both the beach ones and the homecoming ones. They all look so glam. Sorry you were waiting up and they stayed out a little late. Hope all was ok.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I just found 2 cruise meet threads for my 11/29 mini-cruise. One has 2 pages and the other has 3 posts. Oh boy.....they're not gonna know what hit them when I start posting! :rotfl: :lmao:

Probably one has 6 pages and the other 50 posts by now then!!! :lmao: (We love it Holly, and you, don't stop)

Oh....Julie, I forgot to mention. Online shopping is actually worse for me because since I have such an odd shape (as far as sizes go), I absolutely have to try clothes on first. Plus I'm short, so everything I think will fit, when I try it on, it's too long. :headache: No fun.

I'm the same Holly. I have to try so many outfits on just to get one good fitting one. And don't get me onto bras!

OK warning you all ahead of time, I'm highly inebriated, so spelling correctly is not at a premium right now.
This absolutely cracked me up! I'm glad I wasn't the only one last night! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: I'm so glad game night was a success!

I hate to give advice Holly, but one of my friends had this exact same issue and it turned out to be WHEAT allergy. Celiac Disease
I'm open to everything and want to get every option checked out. I'm trying to pay attention to what he eats in relation to when he starts acting crazy, but since his dad is completely opposed to the idea of anything physical going on, he's not going to do the same when Tyler's with him, so my efforts won't do much good.

I also am planning on e-mailing his dad and telling asking him to be sure to tell the counsellor my thoughts on everything, even though he doesn't agree with them, just so he gets both parents' observations since he doesn't want me there at the appointment. :headache:

Probably one has 6 pages and the other 50 posts by now then!!! :lmao: (We love it Holly, and you, don't stop)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Well, I don't want to scare them all away, I'll give them all a chance to respond. ;) I only did 2 posts on 1 and 1 on the other. I asked them if we can combine or just start posting only on 1 thread.

I'm the same Holly. I have to try so many outfits on just to get one good fitting one. And don't get me onto bras!
:rotfl: I tried on about 10 pairs of pants to get just 3 yesterday!

Tyler woke me up at 7am, dressed in blue slacks, dress shirt, and tie, telling me he's ready for church! I told him I'm not ready to get up yet and he told me, "But mom, you say that every time it's church day and then we miss church." :scared1: Not quite accurate......last Sunday we were at the Dinosaur Dash before church would have started, the Sunday before we were in Tennessee, the Sunday before that we were gone before church started (can't remember where). So I'm not as bad as he makes me sound! ;) However, I want to feed his craving, so off I go to get ready for church. He's almost done with breakfast, so I'd better jump in the shower.

Having a quiet lazy afternoon. :confused3 :) John has fallen asleep with his laptop on his lap, so I have sent an email telling him to wake up. When it comes through there should be a fairly loud ding and that should do the job!!!!!:lmao: Trouble is I want to go to the bathroom, but don't want to wake him up before the email comes through!!!

There will just be time for a walk, but it looks a little dull out. Not too cold though. I think it is one of those days when it is warmer out than in!
