OUTDOOR ADVENTURE in PV

Did anyone take pics of the cars we rode in or more generalized scenery pics of the boats, the ride up or things like that? I think I was too nervous on the way up to think about that and then too amped on the way down to touch a camera.

BTW hope everyone who is sick feels better soon....so glad it was at the end of the trip not the start or middle of it. We did start hearing a lot of people coughing towards the end of the cruise we were very fortunate if my DD coughed once(she has a real low immune system I'd give her airborne and it seemed to work for her). Feel better soon Nan, Kelly, and everyone else who's under the weather:hug:

Extra thanks Linda for the scrapbooking class AMAZING job you did so much work and how generous of you:love: I had a blast and had a great time meeting other DISers too...thanks!!!!!

how fun that sounds!!!

Holly loved the pics of Tyler and the dolphin:thumbsup2 My DK did the one you cancelled and only bought one pic each at $17 each for each child you got a much better deal.

Well, gotta run and have lunch with the family and then tend to the neverending pile of laundry:eek:

We're going up to Windsor to get married. I hear that it is the place for weddings this year.

The night before the wedding will be spent in Detroit.

If that ain't classy I don't know what is!

I heard this on public radio this morning. I wish this had happened before the cruise. We would have definitely gotten married in CA (and a trip to DL) had this been the case.

Unfortunately our plans are set for Canada, plus we're already out $400 (nonrefundable) for some of the arrangements.

Sukie thinks we should get married in CA as well. He thinks we should collect a marriage license from every state that will marry us.

Still ... I'd like to have a very good excuse for going to DL!

That sounds like a great idea and remember you would not need to "buy" witnesses here in California. Their are tons of us who would jump at the chance to join in the celebration with you guys. :thumbsup2

Marr, we're really very touched. I mean that sincerely. I now wish that we were doing this in California (no slight against Canada). It would be so much more meaningful to have folks there who know us, and not have the rented witnesses. I guess that's why it seems so anticlimactic to us.

Sukie is researching California, and we are really quite serious about flying out there to get hitched as well.

Is it possible to have too many marriage licenses, well at least too many with the same person?

Ian, I'm a local call and a few minutes away so if you need any help planning don't hesitate to call or email. I'd be happy to help you out. There are some stunning local areas for weddings over the ocean. The new marriage laws are all the talk around here! Everyone is very, very excited!!!

Well, I've just returned from 2 days of attempting to lecture/teach while having a nasty sinus infection. I didn't sound good and tried not to look too swollen around the eyes. But I think I may be feeling slightly better. I had every intention of spending a couple of days visiting several folks at DL and ended up flat on my back for the first 3 days back. Jonathan is finally feeling better and is trying to revive the backyard - man it was a mess. I'm supposed to be having a blast down in Coronado with several other dissers this weekend, but haven't even unpacked yet. We did get through all of the Lost, Ugly Betty, Grey's anatomy, Dancing w/ stars and several other show (still have Moonlight waiting for me.) It was fun to just watch our favorite shows. :)

I'm done for today and ready for the big Lost tonight. Jonathan was supposed to do a big presentation tonight and they cancelled because it conflicted with Lost and there were way too many industry parents at the school. :lmao: :lmao: Only in LA. :lmao:

Kathe,

Sukie told me to tell you he beat you ... he gained 15 pounds!

Me? I haven't even stepped on the scale yet!

NO HE DIDN'T... did he????

mini sandwhich, I think this is an horderves

Look... the Prince has arrived!!! Love the shoes...

Found this post on Youtube - a tourist in Panama that took some video of our ship! If you check out his other ones, he has more.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY_3EMnCjKc

Checked out all the other ones he has from our cruise too... looks like we had fun!!!

To my dinner companions...I enjoyed dining with you all. I hope none of you think that I was not sociable. The dining rooms were so loud that I was having trouble hearing the person sitting right next to me. Or maybe it was one of those darn OG things.:confused3

Donna

Donna.. it was the the ones at the other end of the table that were the loud ones...

Wait...

That was me... :rotfl:

(sorry...)

& the Duke and Dutchess of Ohio were very wonderful to spend dinner with!!!

Ok what gift from DCL?

On our last night we got a boxed ceramic lidded bowl that had chip and dale at the PC (like the pin) on the lid, inside was the path like the poster and decorated all around the bowl, I think even on the bottom.

I figured everyone got it, no?

btw, xrays showed no pnemonia so I'm relived. Got my antibotics and I've been sleeping this afternoon.

It's nice to see everyone checking in and doing so well. Love to hear about what everyone thought and what their favorite things were.

We didn't do laundry on board (ha no suprise with 8 pieces of luggage) and had a little clean to take home. Next time I cut down by one bag, just one bag not one person :rotfl2:

time for my late late afternoon nap. check back later.

Hi everyone. We made it home with all our luggage around midnight on Sunday night. The On Board Check In worked out really well for us since we didn't have to pay for our second bags. Really sorry to hear that a lot of you had problems with lost luggage and long waits. Wasn't thrilled about having to be at the Walt at 7:30 AM but being in the first group off the ship we didn't have a very long wait.

It was really great meeting all of you that we managed to and wish we could have met everyone. Time went by so fast that we were actually getting off before we got to meet everyone we wanted.

NOT the KITTIES???? No, it can't be! We had so much fun seeing them in their adorable wardrobe every theme day. We'll keep a good thought that someone will get to their hotel and realize what happened and you'll be reunited soon. Hope you enjoy our town! I didn't realize you were staying here! Which part of town? Let us know if you need any tips!

The kitties made it home safely. They always travel in my arms not in a suitcase so I am sure they make it. Glad you enjoyed seeing them. They are quite the ice breakers. We had complete strangers coming up and asking if they could take their pictures.

I think your talking about Parumpgirls kitties. Heard they needed their own suitcase!!!

They do have their own suitcase for clothes but it didn't come on this trip. They shared ours. And they do not ride in a suitcase.

We had REAL pizza!!! In&Out burgers tomorrow for sure!!!

IN&OUT, MMMMM, one of the reasons I wish we hadn't had to come home right away. Hopefully we will be in California in October and can visit then.

Home safe and sound!

Cheri and I hit Phoenix around 830 last night (had a traffic delay on the I10 just west of town). We stopped at Peg's for a short visit then Cheri headed on to her sister's for the night. We'll drop off the rental car this morning and go to breakfast before Cheri heads on up north.

Debarkation was a bit of a nightmare, wasn't it? I didn't hit the ENTRANCE to the terminal building till 1035AM...about an hour of standing in line just getting off the ship. So our visit to DTD was cut short. We just did lunch at Goofy's and then headed on out.

Thanks everyone for making this such a special vacation. I had a great time meeting everyone, exchanging fish extender treats, doing the meets and excursions, blowing off excursions to spend the day on a lounge outside Cove Cafe, the shows, the crew and officers, did anyone else fall in love with Daniel? Oh, la la!

Must race to the shower to be ready when Cheri calls....think she'll be up by 9AM? :lmao:

.

Jackie sorry to hear debarkation was so bad for you. Actually since we got off with the early flyers it wasn't so bad for us. Glad you and Cheri made it home okay. It was great meeting both of you.

Hi all and welcome back! Looks like you all had a great time. Not sure if you have this from anyone else, but I took the captured images from the PC webcams that someone was nice enough to save and converted them into video.

Centinnal Bridge

Aproaching Pedro Miguel

Entering Miraflores

Exiting Miraflores

Thank you so much for these.

I can't believe we're back on land....I want to go back to the Magic!!

Finally made it home at just about 230am this morning....after both my flights were delayed (not too bad) and after having to submit a claim for 1 of my suitcases not coming in (seems like my bag wanted to have a longer vacation in Dallas). It's supposed to be delivered today.....key word there is supposed to be. We'll have to wait and see.

Thank you so much to all of you for making an amazing trip even more memorable. I know I didn't get to meet everyone, or even spend tons of time w/ everyone, but really enjoyed the times spent with those I did meet.

I'm in the process of downloading all the pics I took and will share when I can.

It looks like a lot of people had problems with lost luggage. Since we put ours out the night before and didn't see them until we got to Columbus we weren't too sure how many we would see. Lucky us and all four made it.

Hi everyone :) It was so nice to meet you all, I had a wonderful 1st cruise, you all helped to make it the best! I booked another cruise on board (will be sharing the Sept 09 Tortola cruise with lots of you :goodvibes ) and just finished booking the following week too, one week would just be too short ;) .I didn't have a fish extender this cruise, but received lots of "gifts" anyways :) I tried to thank everyone, but know I missed a few, so THANK YOU !

Sorry some of you have lost bags, hope they all show up soon. My flight was delayed by 2 hrs so it was a long wait at LAX . I had a 2 hr bus shuttle home from the airport at 1:00 AM and was just barely able to make it, only had 10 min to spare, so was home at 3:00 AM, if I had missed it I wouldn't have been home until 5:00. I'm so sad this cruise is over...but my granddaughter is coming over tomorrow night and my son will be home June 18 for two weeks :cool1: And now I have two more cruises to look forward to!

I gathered up some courage and got on the scale too, yikes :scared1: 8 lbs for me to lose too. I think I must have lost at least one lb today, lots of running up and down stairs for laundry and I needed to mow the lawn, it was up to my knees! Plus, all I could scrounge up for dinner was a lean cuisine.

Well, a little more reading and I'm off to bed...work in 7 hrs YUCK!

Kathe

Kathe, it was so great to meet you. I truly hope that we get the chance to meet again.

Always the odd man out I've lost 6 pounds. Seems my regular at home diet of coffee for breakfast, junk food lunch at 3pm, normal dinner followed by Smarties and Dr. Pepper is much improved on the Magic with an omelet breakfast, chicken sandwhich lunch and normal dinner while traveling. Now to find that boot camp...after I get rid of the Cabo Crud. Wilson has a doctor appt at 2pm, not his regular doc, which is a bummer because he is good about giving me a prescpription too if needed, so I have my appointment made for Wed @ 4pm.

I lost a pound but my clothes sure didn't show it.

Paul is unpacking and the washer and dryer haven't stopped since we've been home.

My washer and dryer hasn't stopped since we got home.

I've looked for Casey a few times, hard to believe she isn't here. Whoever said coming home with her gone was going to be the hardest is right. I think it was Carol. How is Mickey doing???

Mickey is doing fine. He was really excited to see us and gets really upset if one or both of us leave the house even for an hour. We, also, came home to one of our 5 cats missing (they are indoor cats and are not allowed out). Apparently he got out and the house sitters didn't know it. The unfortunate part is that he is Mickey's playmate while the other cats avoid him. I am hoping that he will still show up.

Working on downloading pictures.

by the way....did she ever get really creative with your towel animals? Ours were always well done but nothing great and creative using other stuff around the room or anything.

As soon as I can I will have to post a couple of pictures of two of our towel animals. One night our hostess did an alligator eating a frog and another night she made two monkeys dressed in Chewy Too and Sadie's clothes. Jerrlyn was really great.

PS - my brother is completely off the ventilator and talking! Almost like a miracle!

John it was really great to meet you and your family. Glad to hear your brother is doing so well.

I went back to work on Tuesday. :worried: Tyler's worse and worse. He had a total loss of control at OT yesterday. He was so physical, the OT could barely restrain him to try to calm him. It was awful. Picture a spitting & hissing cat mixed with tazmanian devil. Very scary to see a kid so out of control. It was all set off by frustration at not being able to do one activity she was trying to do with him and when she tried to move onto something else, he got frustrated because he wanted to keep trying the other, and things just snowballed. Horrible. School was OK for him, but he fell apart at karate class afterwards. The instructor finally told him if he wasn't going to try to do what he was told, he'd have to leave class.

When I dropped him at his dad's, I spent an hour talking with his dad in the kitchen while he made dinner. I told him how heartbroken Tyler was that he was asked to leave the sleepover on the ship, told him how much worse he's getting, etc. We weren't arguing, just discussing, and he finally said, "You know, I used to be dead set against meds, but we have to give it a try so he can have a chance to do well". :faint: He finally sees the light. I didn't tell him that I'd already been in contact with the psychiatrist office to get that ball rolling. I'll just let him know when the appointment is. :thumbsup2

Holly, glad to have met you and Tyler. We always got to see the good side so find it hard to believe he could be such a monster. You were amazing with him. Glad to hear that his father is finally on board and help is on the way. He is really a great kid.

:wave2: All -

I hope by now that everyone is coming home and doing ok - DH and I got sick on the very last day. Me not so much but it hit full force on Thursday morning. DH had to go to doctor n Wednesday where he was told that SoCal region has been hit really hard by some intestinal flu.

Anyway, just wanted to post a question - has anyone received anything from DCL? :rolleyes1 I was going to my mom's to get some TLC and there was a little present waiting for me. Just wandering if anyone else got one? :scratchin Or is this Disney's ploy to get me to come back on? :lmao: Wouldn't surprise me - those people are wicked! :rotfl:

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well, I'm laying around the house trying to get this rigor mortis body of mine in gear - have my DD to pick up in 1/2 hr and my eyes look like I've been drinking since last week. Guess no one will believe the story that I was sick and burst my eye blood vessels - or are they capillaries? WHOA! AOL just kicked me off. Better send this before I lose it.

No present from DCL here.

Sorry to hear that so many were and are ill. Luckily DH and I came home tired but healthy. I have been dealing with a migraine all day but that is due to the changes in weather that we have been having. I was asked on the ship for Chewy Too and Sadie's web site and some pictures of Mickey. As soon as I get a couple of more minutes I will post both.

Till the next time -

Carol

I figured everyone got it, no?

We got that the last night, too, but haven't gotten anything since we got home.

Carol

Hello folks - made it home as well - catching up wit family and our pets...and of course work.

Had the most magical time - more later.

Hi Lisa, we're still here in CA doing all the sights and running ourselves ragged....every night we get back and just crash.....we're exhausted!

We did DL and saw some disers.....Mike and Carol, V and family, PJ, Angie and Dennis, Deborah and family.....great fun to run into all of them!

We did Universal Studios.....we loved the backlot tour! We drove out to Rodondo Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Malibu and hugged the coast line. We did the tourist spots and saw the Hollywood sign, the view from Mulholland Drive, Grumans Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theatre, the walk of fame, Rodeo Drive.

Today we're doing California Adventure and then coming back to pack up and hit the pool and hot tub. Tonight we're having dinner with Woody and Mrs Woody.....then tomorrow morning we head out to Las Vegas.

We ran out of time and never had the chance to get to San Diego or Santa Barbara. Oh well, next trip.

Sounds like so much fun!! I bet you are exhausted!!

John glad Manuel is doing better and glad you were able to get away and have fun. Holly it was so nice to meet you and Tyler (everytime I saw him he was a doll didn't get to see the other Tyler you mentioned) I'm so glad his dad is finally open to meds... hope it all works out:thumbsup2 I really enjoyed meeting so many of you the list would be too long. Kelly and Lisa, thanks for the tea and all of the other DIS gals that happen to be there for the added company. Thanks PJ for organizing the brunches ...yummy!!! Marilyn it was nice bumping into you and at DL too and I hope you made it back to DL after Memorial day when it was less crowded...we saw lots of schools there that Tues. seniors and younger too but in the evening they were gone.... on Mon. we opened and closed the park...We loved that Italian Winery restaurant at California Adventure I recommend it was nice and actually a value the kids meals only $6 at the park its about the same and nice to be able to have a nicer meal and a glass of wine at DL...I recommend it for others when they go back...you have to eat anyways.

Hope everyone gets home safely with all of there luggage of course:goodvibes And, Deborah(Scottishwee) really enjoyed meeting you and your family and I mentioned to my DH what happened and when he saw your DD(she is so cute by the way) he said the same thing happened to him at the same spot and the dentist fixed it and you can't even tell on him at all so she should be fine. Hope for safe travels everyone!!!!
I enjoyed meeting you too! (As well as everybody else I was lucky enough to meet from this board).

Thanks LiserAnn and Cheri for letting my DH taxi over to Budget:goodvibes It was really nice meeting all of you throughout the cruise...didn't get to meet some of you and others I barely saw.

Not a problem! It was great to have people to share the expense. I wish there'd been more time to get to know you folks!

Thanks to everyone who left little gifts at our stateroom... it was wonderful :thumbsup2
Yeah, what she said! But seriously.....I was truly amazed by everybody's kind gifts. Very nice! :goodvibes Thanks a bunch!

I got my gift from DCL in the mail today and I agree with Laura...it is just a ploy to make you book another cruise. I loved it!! and Jennifer (ReadyAlready) will love it as well.....

I won't spoil the surprise.....if you really want to know ... send me a PM!!
