Hey V...
George broke up with Sarah...
George broke up with Sarah...
Hi Lisa, we're still here in CA doing all the sights and running ourselves ragged....every night we get back and just crash.....we're exhausted!
We did DL and saw some disers.....Mike and Carol, V and family, PJ, Angie and Dennis, Deborah and family.....great fun to run into all of them!
We did Universal Studios.....we loved the backlot tour! We drove out to Rodondo Beach, Santa Monica Pier, Malibu and hugged the coast line. We did the tourist spots and saw the Hollywood sign, the view from Mulholland Drive, Grumans Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theatre, the walk of fame, Rodeo Drive.
Today we're doing California Adventure and then coming back to pack up and hit the pool and hot tub. Tonight we're having dinner with Woody and Mrs Woody.....then tomorrow morning we head out to Las Vegas.
We ran out of time and never had the chance to get to San Diego or Santa Barbara. Oh well, next trip.
Did anyone go outside to Ballroom Under The Stars? I never made it. What was it like? Seems to me it was chilly and windy that night.
We went up but no one was there. Didn't hear anything about it but it looked like maybe it had rained - decks were all wet.
ok - you people take the cruise and then forget all about our thread.....do you guys have jobs?

hi there, back from the 2 hour long wait at the doctors office, dianosis walking pneumonia, tomorrow I have a chest xray to make sure it's not pneumonia of the plain variety.
off to Molly's play now and then home to bed for a few days at least I'm told. Yeah that's what I needed a vacation from my vacation. Now I can read all those books I ignored.![]()

Well, what else is new?
I am pages and pages behind, and today is the first day I looked at our thread. Two days at DL, and a day of travel Hell, and then back to work today, with a school board meeting tonight for an encore.
We are really missing all of our old friends that cruise with us, and all the new friends we made in two weeks on the Magic. I hope you all made it home safe and sound!
You were all truly a great group of people to get to know!
PS - my brother is completely off the ventilator and talking! Almost like a miracle!
John glad Manuel is doing better and glad you were able to get away and have fun. Holly it was so nice to meet you and Tyler (everytime I saw him he was a doll didn't get to see the other Tyler you mentioned) I'm so glad his dad is finally open to meds... hope it all works outI really enjoyed meeting so many of you the list would be too long. Kelly and Lisa, thanks for the tea and all of the other DIS gals that happen to be there for the added company. Thanks PJ for organizing the brunches ...yummy!!! Marilyn it was nice bumping into you and at DL too and I hope you made it back to DL after Memorial day when it was less crowded...we saw lots of schools there that Tues. seniors and younger too but in the evening they were gone.... on Mon. we opened and closed the park...We loved that Italian Winery restaurant at California Adventure I recommend it was nice and actually a value the kids meals only $6 at the park its about the same and nice to be able to have a nicer meal and a glass of wine at DL...I recommend it for others when they go back...you have to eat anyways.
Hope everyone gets home safely with all of there luggage of courseAnd, Deborah(Scottishwee) really enjoyed meeting you and your family and I mentioned to my DH what happened and when he saw your DD(she is so cute by the way) he said the same thing happened to him at the same spot and the dentist fixed it and you can't even tell on him at all so she should be fine. Hope for safe travels everyone!!!!
btw, xrays showed no pnemonia so I'm relived. Got my antibotics and I've been sleeping this afternoon.
It's nice to see everyone checking in and doing so well. Love to hear about what everyone thought and what their favorite things were.
We didn't do laundry on board (ha no suprise with 8 pieces of luggage) and had a little clean to take home. Next time I cut down by one bag, just one bag not one person![]()
time for my late late afternoon nap. check back later.
I took my mom to the doctor today. As you all know I had my brother taking care of her while I was gone. I take her to the doctor every 6 weeks. Since her last appointment, she has lost 10 pounds....from 98 pounds to 88 pounds. I don't know if they didn't feed mom or if she was just being "mom" and didn't eat for them.
I fix her specail meals for all three meals everyday. I think they expected her to eat whatever they were eating and I don't think she liked that.
Her doctor was livid. She can't live very long at 88 pounds...I have to weigh her everyday now. He wats to know if she even losses 1 more pound. The did a complete CBC and I have to schedule a colonoscomy (sp??) and a few other tests.
The pain she is experiencing is terrible and the doctor explained what ever muscle she had is now gone and the joints have nothing to rub against. It will only continue to get worse.
I just get Frank pretty well and now mom falls apart. One more time I will say "geting old is hell".....

And perhaps inlcude Northern California in that trip???
Miss you guys!!
Wanted to let you and all the other DISers know that we are closing down our Wine Shop this weekend... for good.We will more than likely still be selling wine on our website, unless we can sell it all this weekend.
We want to thank you and John and our other DIS friends for your support. We just couldn't survive the economy, bad landlord, and other issues.
We hope to see you all soon!!
We are booked for Tortola in June of 2009. Can't do September as Alex will be starting High School(Just shoot me now...)
Hope you enjoy Vegas!!! Wish we were there with you!
Karen, Ted and Alex
We are back!!What can I say - it was fantastic! I think I managed to meet most of you, but didn't manage to spend time with you all. Could be you were all out partying when I was in bed! You were all great, and perhaps someday we will get to meet again. I think you all helped make the cruise so special.
After the awful crawl off the ship on Sunday we had a great 3 nights at the GC hotel and DL. We enjoiyed there so much more than we expected to despite the crowds and hope to go back oneday. It was lovely seeing some of you there too and that helped the feeloings of loss at the end of the cruise.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR FE GIFTS. It was great to see the pockets full of surprises. I think we managed to eat most of the candy!!Both of us have put on weight, but I am not weighing myself. I know I will feel better by tomorrow after the bloatedness of the long journey and flight home settles down. But, I do need to lose the weight and more.
I only noted a few quotes, but I'm sorry so many of you have been ill. It adds insult to injury on top of returning from this special vacation doesn't it? Hope you are all well very very soon.
Sorry about the lost bags too. Hope they all turn up.
Nan, so sorry you have been so ill.![]()
wonderful news about Manuel and a great homecoming present for you.
It was lovely to meet you, and thanks for the help with car recognition at the port. Gret to keep bumping to you.
Better news Nan. Hope you are soon fully well. Miss you.![]()
Sorry to hear about your mom Lisa. such a shame she now has to go through uncomfortable tests too.
Karen, you're a star!!!! We really enjoyed our wine, and the Champagne Girls was a great get together. Thanks!
Marilyn, so glad to hear that you and John made it home safely. No lost bags for you either I take it. Guess we got lucky.
It was fantastic having you, Cork and Rich for table mates. You guys are the reasons we never went to Topsiders for dinner. One of these trips we may have to try Topsiders but not as long as we have table mates like you guys.
Glad you enjoyed DL and the GC. Hopefully we will be there in October.
Carol
It's nice that DCL listened and did something for you.I don't how many of you all know I was directly across from the laundry on the 6th floor.
. . . I filled in the survey and expressed my concern again. When I got home yesterday, DCL called again. . . Then I got the following e-mail
Too funny! How long did it take the workers to snake out the socks you'd stuffed in all the washer drains?
We are very sad to hear about the wine shop. Hopefully new opportunities will arise.Wanted to let you and all the other DISers know that we are closing down our Wine Shop this weekend. . . for good.
We could not have had nicer neighbors!. . . Woody and Mrs. Woody made good neighbors
And perhaps inlcude Northern California in that trip???
