The Mrs. Bennett Report
An Exposé For Readers Possessing Refined Senses and Cultured Dispositions

A few days ago, I promised photos of Mrs. Bennett, but first a few words for concerned readers who have wondered how she was settling into and enjoying her Chicago environs after her long and tedious journey from across the Pacific.

Mrs. Bennett arrived at Eastwood Manor on Thursday late in the day, after a journey of some 6 days via aeroplane and motorcar conveyances.

After disposing of her baggage and taking tea, she proclaimed that she was feeling quite refreshed. She insisted on a turn around the room before settling into her duties.

At these, her duties, she did not disappoint and embarked on them with much proficiency and efficiency giving nothing but the highest of satisfaction.

She immediately familiarised herself with the WiFi network, proclaiming that is was nothing to her, and she did not mind in the least talking with tradesmen.

Her current daily routine consists of advising the Eastwood Manor household of how many days are left until their ocean holiday. She also relates the news and weather to all who would turn a gentle ear, and is very fond of showing all some of her miniature portraits.

Mrs. Bennett, would like everyone who has been inquiring after her health to know that is has never been better, and on the whole, she is quite satisfied with the new position in life in which she finds herself.

It may be of great interest to some readers to view Mrs. Bennett's elegant and tasteful baggage.

And so dear reader, that is all there is to tell about Mrs. Bennett. She is a most welcome addition to Eastwood Manor.

Yep we are flying out on the 5th. Have a quick hop to Seattle and then direct from there to Orlando.

I would take it you are flying out of Whitehorse? with a connection to Van?

We are taking a little different route this time... we are flying from Whitehorse to Calgary - overnighting - then Calgary to Minneapolis to Orlando. On the way home we are going LAX to YVR and then to Whitehorse.

Sheesh, I'm tired already thinking of all the flights. My sister-in-law lives in Peterborough and I envy her 2 hour flight from TO.

OK, back home from the big A to get baseball tkts for this summer, hard to believe we will have already been long home from our May adventure through the Panama Canal.

Mrs. Bennett looks really cool and very stylish.

Oh no, Canada and the USA are trying something new, we fell back later last year and we are springing forward earlier. Can't remember the reasoning for this move.Pj

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it is because the extra daylight helps the farming communities resulting in a perk to the economy. So, its a little pick me up.

My step-dad owns a skin care place here (he is a dermatologist) and my mom manages it. They do spray tans and they are great. The best part is they don't charge me!!! So I will be doing that before the cruise. It is a very strange feeling standing there while someone airbrushes you but it looks great and stays on for awhile too. I can't get in the sun without sunscreen (red hair, freckles, and fair skin).

Okay, a spray tan at no charge....I would look like I had just stepped off a cruise all year!!! I agree, it is a little odd standing there being airbrushed, but compared to how I look with the do-it-yourself spray stuff....I just have to get over it. I usally only do two light coats, and extra light on the face. I am also one of the fairer skinned. I use sunscreen still...I don't think you can get it with sunscreen, but I am not sure.

This must be my lucky week. We went to Disneyland Resort twice. In addition to my getting invited to Club 33 at the last minute, when we were with Edna Mode (Kelly) on Wednesday, we all received free silver Mickey Ears (it's part of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion). I never thought I'd win anything.

This morning, as we were going through Tarzan's Treehouse, DW got a call on her cell (from some friends just outside the tree house), then told me, "Go to the exit, NOW!"

I know better than to ask questions, and went straight to the exit, where cast members were handing out silver Mickey Ears. As soon as I got my ears, they ran out.

Note to the men out there: If your sweetheart says "NOW," don't ask questions.

Thats awesome. We won an dream extra magic hour in the MK with only about 500 other people. It was amazing, no lines. It was strange though b/c I saw the dream team and was expecting ears or pins and the handed us a pin and put on wristbands and said come back at 12 and we will party. We did and the whole park stayed open.

Hubby went in yesterday and got his first Hep A&B combo shot and his tetanus booster. I didn't realize that you have to get a series of three shots for Hepatitis. You get one, another a month later, and the last 6 months after the original.

We will be able to get two shots in before the cruise, which the doctor seemed to think was great. He even gave my husband a Rx for Cipro (unasked). Do you think we should have it filled? Should we get one filled for both of us?

We will be stumbling around in the dark in Acapulco on the Petrogylph excursion. It is scheduled for 5 to 9 pm. We are also hiking in the Sierra Madres in PV. I don't know what we are thinking! I guess I better keep exercising otherwise somebody is going to have to carry me off the mountains!

I was worried about getting shot but my doctor (my stepdad) told us not to get them. He did however give us a perscription for just in case, that I will get filled.

We have gone back to paper bags. We always request them. Personally I hated the plastic carrier bags and how they flew all over the trunk. I forgot how much more stable the paper bags were and how much more capacious there are. The net net is we have fewer bags and they stay put in the trunk.

Having said that, we recently bought our our reusable cloth-esque bags at our supermarket. They were only 10 cents each, have handles. Makes for few bags and easier to schlepp in from the garage.

But I can carry 7 or 8 of those plastic ones( hung on my arms) plus a gallon of milk and a pack of papertowels in at one time. Many more trips out to the car to carry in the paper ones.

It's nice but I don't take advantage of it very often since I hate to take up a paying slot. They don't care so I will do it before the cruise. No you can't get it with sunscreen that I know of. I have to still where tons of sunscreen and DH is allergic to the sun!

So now that I am finished ordering my clothes, we started on DH's this morning. I rented a white tux for him to use on the cruise. He already owns a black outfit that he wears on formal nights. He's got tux pants and a velvet jacket. It looks real sharp. Now he'll have the rented white one too.

Then I contacted a tailor online that I have used before and he makes custom to fit clothing and John wants to order two new vests for both formal nights. He has a hot pink tux shirt to wear with the black outfit and he has a purple tux shirt to wear with the white jacket. He's getting a white vest to wear with the pink shirt and a silver gray vest to wear with the purple shirt.

He should look awesome and we'll take some great pics.

Very true monica, now all I have to do it get out the sewing machine, find some material, and find the time to sew one up... All without alerting the boys to the advent of the cruise.

Nothing much going on at home today.....cooking, cleaning, puttering.....but not decluttering.....that's a big project for when we move to Delaware and have to do it.

John is cooking pot roast in the crock pot. He likes to make crock pot meals on weekends and then have leftover food to eat during the week.

For some reason I'm thinking March 1st.....today.....as the cut off date for fish giving. Does anyone else remember?

I think we should reserve for 30 people at 5:30pm at Fishlips. Then the little kids will be able to eat early and go home to sleep early and the older folks can stay as late as they want. Some may be returning rental cars that evening. Me and John decided to return our rental the following morning on the way to the port. I'm getting so excited because it's getting so much closer......it's March today!!
