V, yours does have card reader slots, they could be on the side or the front.

Pj

Very cool. V gets a new computer and I learn that mine can read my photo cards. Thanks V & PJ.

Welcome to all the new cruisers.

Happy Birthday to everyone this week and next (I am terrible at remembering who and when).

 to all!

Hello Everyone

Pardon my bad memory, but can someone direct me to who amongst us has the beautiful cheerleading daughter that was in HSM? Some fantastic photos were posted here, and now I cant find them - my 6yr old is a HSM fanatic and wants to see them - HELP!!!:confused3

Thankyou!!:)

That would be Linda (Seaulater) in UT. Though I see that I was not the first one to answer your question.

Good morning all, I'm off to get Angels baseball tickets this morning. Have to go early to get in line, so I'll plug away at the worst statistics class I've ever taken in my life while waiting. Our friends in Boston can't get tickets to the Red Sox, so they are coming here this summer to see them play at the Big A stadium.

Thanks for such a warm welcome. Everyone seems so nice on here.:goodvibes
It's just the four of us going on this trip - me, dh, ds(5) and dd(3). This will be our first DVC stay at OKW from May 4 - 10 and then after the cruise we are staying at the GC until Wed. I'm so excited for this trip but I think I'd be more excited if could get a stateroom number assigned. I feel really displaced being GTY but I guess I shouldn't complain since we only booked in January. I've been skimming through some of the old posts and I thought I was the only one having problems booking excursions at the 90 day mark. :rotfl2: I should have found this thread earlier... I wouldn't have been so frustrated knowing others were having the same problems. I never was able to get a reservation for a Palo brunch after being online until 1:00 am (4 hrs total). I managed to get only 2 of the 4 excursions I wanted that night and booked the other 2 the next morning.

A few notes about OKW, be prepared about the room service, it is not daily. Also, take the little boat over to DTD, it's fun.

Right there with you - I have two shades pasty white and red! Oh and the pasty white does have a lot of freckles too :scared1:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

This must be my lucky week. We went to Disneyland Resort twice. In addition to my getting invited to Club 33 at the last minute, when we were with Edna Mode (Kelly) on Wednesday, we all received free silver Mickey Ears (it's part of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion). I never thought I'd win anything. This morning, as we were going through Tarzan's Treehouse, DW got a call on her cell (from some friends just outside the tree house), then told me, "Go to the exit, NOW!"
I know better than to ask questions, and went straight to the exit, where cast members were handing out silver Mickey Ears. As soon as I got my ears, they ran out. Note to the men out there: If your sweetheart says "NOW," don't ask questions. Woody

Very fun!

Do your clocks go forward in the US this weekend or next?

Yes, at 2am on 3/9/08. They moved it up a month. Not all cities and states follow this though.

Good Morning Everybody......Jackie, I got your Lost PM, ah-ha I get it now. Thanks for that.

I tracked the tee shirt delivery for Jackie and Nan.....they will arrive on Monday by UPS ground. Check for your deliveries when you're home.

I played it back a couple of times and never got a clear name....certainly someone I had never heard of.

PM me with who you heard them say it was. Thanks.

PM sent (and to taysmom and nskjerven too).

Absolutely! We wouldn't have our shirts if it wasn't for you. Thanks! I'll have your shirt for you as soon as I see you. They're awesome!

They actually tried to deliver mine Friday, but I was at work. I'll fill out the form to have them leave it with my neighbor on Monday!

I just wanted to say hi and subscribe to this thread. I'm really new at posting so I'm not sure of the formalities - hopefully I'm doing this correctly. :scared1:

WELCOME!

Yeah, I'm one of those folks who don't change. So after next weekend I'll be on the same clock as the west coast folks. Makes it a bit harder to make contact with my Carolina brother having the three hour time difference. I also won't need to hang out at work till 6PM in case my LA crew needs me....ALTHOUGH....I usually end up DISing till past then anyway! :lmao:

TIme to cook some breakfast and get this day started. Mucho house purging/organizing to do so that I can then HIRE somebody to clean it. Just two more weekends before big sister arrives, so I think I've procrastinated about as long as I can. :sad2:

...later kids...

WELCOME!!!

Just jump on in - tell us about yourself (who you're sailing w/) and be ready for some fun! Page 1 has tons of info.

I previously posted about an excellent History Channel DVD "Modern Marvels, Panama Canal." It's done quite well and is very insightful. Panama Canal DVD

Thanks once again for the link! I didn't use it the first time I saw it, I just went to the History Channel website and searched for the show as I knew the series was still on. Thought maybe I could DVR it. On the webpage with the show information was the opportunity to buy the DVD for $24.95.

Now I don't mind spending money, it is just that I don't like to spend more than I HAVE to! So I embark on a mission to find it for less..amazon, BestBuy, Circuit City, library... All no go. Sigh.

Flash forward to this morning. Trying to find where I left off before, I find the post thanking Woody. OK, I am just going to have to spend the $25. I click on the link and finds that it leads me to the A&E store where it is ON SALE!!! DUH! $10.17 Clearance priced even!

So, thanks again for the link!

I know I am about 20 pages behind on this discussion, but Sophia is in 2nd grade, and I too had planned on helping her do some kind of report, whether in Powerpoint or iMovie. I wanted her to share the experience with her class when we return.

If the internet access were not so darn expensive, I was even thinking that as we go through the canal on Friday it would be neat for her to do a video iChat with her class. (Yes, our district is primarily Macs too - even BEFORE my kids got there - lower cost of ownership, and more secure against virus attacks).

I will keep reading, but am also looking for an age-appropriate book on the canal. Maybe it is posted in the 20 or so pages I am behind.

Hi

Do you have Marks and Spencer in your area? Just wonder because some worldwide have it.

I saw one in Singapore and it was very expensive than my home:scared1:

Didn't see one in Australia, not sure about Amercia?

Scottishwee35

We used to have a M&S at the local mall, it has been gone for about 8 years now. Use to love the food section and, all kinds of treats that my GrandD loved.

MY FIRST SERIOUS POST - Not that you do not have enough to organize but....on our November 2005 cruise, we had a "kids meet event" for the kids mostly in school. Each kid brought postcards from thei state or local area. On the back of the postcard a greeting was writtten, many inlcuded the state birds, motto and other news. We had a map of the US (for this cruise it owuld need to be the world) and part of the fun was to see how many states could be colored in - many children had not met so many others from different parts of the states. This information was then used in a school report. Most folks went to the local Dollar stores for postcards. There were not as many Dissers and I participated (no kids) and my cards were generic views of Florida - flowers, fish, dolphins, views of the city etc. It was fun to see the little ones going around and exchanging post cards. Webistes list the various songs, mottos, mascots of the state and some folks printed these and pasted them to the back. A screen name was included for reference. Just a thought - it could be a kids scrap book - or authograph book, along with greetings from the kids friends they meet on the cruise. I still have my postcards somewhere.

OK BACK TO CHATTING NOW.

I think this is a great and very cool idea!

I hope you can make that work.* Maybe we will see you on the road!! :thumbsup2

Angie: I really hope we can make it work too....and we'll have to meet up on the road for sure...We'll secretly plan on "dropping" in on some unsuspecting DISer:cool1: :goodvibes

Kelly did say not all States do so, so perhaps GA is one of them.

Ours go forward the last Sunday morning in March.

Oh no, Canada and the USA are trying something new, we fell back later last year and we are springing forward earlier. Can't remember the reasoning for this move.

Thank you for the update on the price. I'm sure there are many out there that would be happy to save the money - more $$ for DOD.

Which means it is less than 65 days until we leave...* Sheesh and I still have SOOOOOO much to do ...
Ok, I didn't think about this until you were talking about flying out of Van to Seattle....are you anywhere near Nimpo Lake or Williams Lake? We have friends who own a home/resort on Nimpo that we have visited. What a drive!!!! Ok, it was great except for the mosquito problem there, YUCK!

This episode is on Itunes for $1.99, I bought this and the Ocean Liners episode, love them. History Channel, Modern Marvels. Also the Episode from Extreme Engineering called Widening the Panama Canal. All can be watched right on your computer, no need for an ipod.

Panama Canal

Extreme Engineering's Widening the Panama Canal

There is even a kids song about the canal, do a search for Panama Canal and it will come up.
