Thanks everyone for the comments on the pics (it was quite beautiful there) and the camera issue. I'm still playing around with it and have emailed a few pics off to walmart to see what they look like there. Hopefully they will turn out good there and then I know the problem lies with the printer. I think I have the resolution as high as it will go on the camera....:confused3

Another thought...maybe the downloading software that you're using compresses the pictures? Compressed pics don't usually print very well...they're usually for emailing. Let us know what the Walmart pics look like!

If you see the locusts coming my way, will you please divert them?

In the last 14 hours we have had:
DD twist the huge iron dining room chandelier causing it to come crashing down (she is fine)

our overflow freezer defrost, ice cream and spaghetti sauce allover

the garage door spring explode and I'm pretty sure DH broke the door getting it up

If I weren't waiting for the repairman, I'd go back to bed and pull the covers over my head...

Oh I really hope your day gets better. :flower3:

Hello!

We are visiting Seattle as the first part of our trip before the cruise! Sydney to LAX then Seattle - anything you can recommend that we should do in Seattle - we have already booked our Boeing tours... Thanks!!:)

Breakfast or lunch at the Space Needle.

So it looks like we can only join forces with one other cabin. :sad2:

That's kinda a bummer...it would be fun to be able to join with other DISers (not that I don't love my family and all). Oh well, guess we'll have to make due!

Hi, I hope that you don't mind if I jump in with a Palo question since you are talking about Palo ressies. I was about 12 hours too late from when we could first book at 90 days out. Since then it has said no reservations available. Are they all booked? Or do they only release a small amount? Or is there something wrong with my account? Were most people able to get their reservations?

Thanks for your help.

keep trying, there are several who did not get a reservation.

Thanks, Lisa!

Sure, DOD on me...one drink, many straws??
so flights do change prices? should we keep checking them?
Yes! But if you already have a great rate, probably won't go down too much. Mine was really high...that is why I kept checking. I really wanted this flight as it was the only direct SFO-MCO one.

No real trivia in the High Seas edition. The Read Everything is important. It is amazing how many people miss something because they assumed they knew what we were looking for, rather than actually reading to learn what we wanted.

You don't need to do anything prior to May 20 - no need to PM or anything. You can form your teams now or on board. Each stateroom listed in the navigator will get a game packet automatically.

Rules from the last time:

  • Each cabin is a team. You may join forces with ONE other cabin so long as there are no more than 6 people on your total team. In some cases, families with two cabins have already been combined into one team.
  • Return your answer sheet by 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26th to the location indicated in the final quest. Late returns are not graded. Results and answers will be posted sometime after 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 27th.
  • Prohibited behaviors: running, line-cutting, pushing, shoving, or other rudeness. Play it safe: this is essentially a subjective call. Do not interfere with other guests or crew members.
  • Quest answers must be written on the answer sheet. Write other task answers where indicated. The answer sheet is the ONLY sheet that will be graded – if it's not on there, it doesn't count.
  • Participants consent to the use of their likeness in photos for posts and/or articles about the event.
  • One quest will require you to interact with a specific crew member. This person will be on duty between 8am and midnight on the 26th. You must locate this person during the normal course of their duties. YOU MAY NOT HAVE THIS PERSON PAGED, or ask for any assistance in finding this person.

This packet contains the following materials:

• Eight “Quests,” marked as "A" through "G"
• “Answer Sheet”– all quest answers must be on this sheet.

The object of the game is to score as many points as possible. You may complete the quests in any order, and some quests can only be completed during certain times. When you are done with your last quest—or when it nears the 10:00 p.m. event deadline—you must turn in your answer sheet. Late returns are not graded. Absolutely no exceptions. Make sure to write your stateroom number(s) on the top of the answer sheet!!! QUOTE]

Don't these 2 statements clash? So can we pick our teams with different people or not? Could be interesting!!!!
I don't think the statements are conflicting - I think you can join up with one other cabin - so you can do that now if you want or wait until you are on board. I think only one of our cabins will be doing it (as our 2 year old won't be much of a help!) so we could join with one other cabin. Make sense?

Don't even get us started! Booking was a mess, although many people were able to get reservations. I really wouldn't worry at all - they keep a lot of reservations free to book the first day. You have to go to the Rockin Bar right when you board and ask for reservations. If they are booked by the time you get there, put your name on the waitlist. They always do everything to make it work, for at least one Palo meal. Brunch I believe is the hardest as they only do that at Sea days. That being said, we got TONS of sea days!

I don't think the plan to not link until after 90/75 days would work if you wanted to do Palo together.

Ah, but you can still only book for the number of adult in your single reservation/cabin, that you are signed in for online, so linking does not help on that either.

so who has exciting plans this weekend?
I am going to clean and purge some more....next weekend we are heading over to the world for ESPN weekend. We may be crashing at my mom's unless I can find a cheap hotel.

I'm going to take Brent to the circus tomorrow. He has never been. We have 2nd row seats front and center!

Great Tony! So now I just hope I am on the navigator! :)

The answer sheet is the ONLY sheet that will be graded

Was I the only one that had a slight shudder and bad flashback to college/highschool when I read that line?

wouldn't "Scored" be a better term .... :lmao:

I just bought 100 pins! I think what we will do is put the pins in a treasure chest, and at Easter tell the kids this is a special Easter and Mommy & Daddy will be giving them a gift...and then give them the treasure chest with a map of Castaway Cay and all the pins. I'm afraid to have it be from the Easter bunny it might bring up too many questions and cause our oldest not to believe...and I saw like them believing!
Lisa

Ummm Easter Bunny? Not believing?? May I ask what's not to believe?? I put my basket out each Easter eve and when I get up it is filled with candy. The Easter Bunny has faithfully arrived for me for 35 years!! so again, what do you mean "not believe"??????

There seems to be some question as to what may or may not happen. Some have heard from DCL that what is available has been put on the site, so when they are gone they are gone. Others find it hard to believe that is the case (put me in this group). The only thing that seems to be in agreement about it is to keep checking (almost daily) for openings and then to also check on the 75 booking day to see if more have been opened up.

We were able to get what we wanted, but others have had varying results.

Jump in anytime! Booking was a nightmare. You did not miss anything those first 12 hours. Some have been able to get Palo booked, many have not. Just go to book as soon as you board. That will save you tons of stress! DCL really needs to get this prebooking straightened out or just not offer it.

so flights do change prices? should we keep checking them?

Sometimes. In 2006 our flight dropped in price to save us a couple hundred dollars. However, this year I am noticing that my flight that I got for $390 is now sitting at $513. It was at $300 when I first looked but I hesitated and it went up. I'm glad I didn't hesitate too long now when I see the price.

Hi All.....well, I'm snowed in again.....about 6 inches.....just enough to keep me off the driveway unless it's plowed. John is still working on fixing the truck so that's no help right now. So I'm in the house unless I want to walk it and believe me....we don't want to do that. Talk about a work out!

We live in Central Oregon by Mt. Bachelor!! We actually have family up in the Tacoma area!

I am not that far from Tacoma. We are kind of between Seattle and Tacoma but closer to the mountains.....perfect spot....in the woods but close to the cities!
