OKW room request at 11 months. interesting result

We made our OKW reservation at our 11month mark. We always request Turtle pond. My DD also requested Southpoint as our second choice. We flew in on a Thursday. Arrived at the resort around 2pm. We knew we'd have several hours before the room ready text. We got our text at 2:30. Went to the front desk to clarify and we were given Millers Road. Surprsing. We asked at the front desk and we were told that Thursday is an "odd" check in day and there were only 2 GV available. We were pleasantly suprised with the location walkable to HH and not too far from the bus. We did have a long stay so we got trash every day and on day 4 only trash/towel not a full clean. (not sure if that's a sure thing) Overall great trip (hot!!)

Sounds like your stay was 7 nights or less. It's only if your stay is 8 nights or more that you get a full clean on day 4.

Back in May of this year, I checked in on a Sunday into a GV and there were only 3 rooms checking out/available.

Were you, by any chance, in a GV in one of the elevator buildings? We were the one time we got a GV-best view and best location ever at OKW.

Sadly this isn't the first time I've heard of housekeeping screw-ups. Sorry it happened to you.

I love the location of building 15. Not too far from HH, so you choose between the two pools. My only complaint is that the trees out back have grown and matured to the point that you can no longer see the 7th green.

That's a shame! When we stayed there, DH would love sitting on the balcony watching the golfers. Otherwise, the location was great.

My whole family golfs so we love sitting and watching golfers pass by. Seeing reactions for great (or duffed) tee shots is fun, but you can't applaud from the stands if you can't see where the shot ends up.
