Marching into March: Exercise Challenge!

List updated!

Busy weekend for us, sorry for the delay.
I had 35 mins yesterday of light cardio and weights/core work in the gym, but really needed the extra sleep this morning so between work and other engagements it's not happening today. :( Oh well.

Well done everyone over the weekend with races, staying healthy, etc! We are currently at a collective 12,667 minutes or 211 hours (!) of exercise, for 27% of our goal as a group! That's awesome!

March is national nutrition month, so I have a "discussion question" since we are getting into the swing of things here.

What is one good nutrition choice we can make this week?

I know for me, I need to be drinking more water and staying better hydrated, so that is my "healthy choice" goal this week. Thoughts?

Great question! I think one I really need to stick with is having a fruit and/or veggie serving with EVERY meal and snack! Somehow I always end up missing that one at dinner and snack time...:sad2:

Hi all! I haven't posted all weekend because I haven't done anything. I have had a sick kid and have been feeling blah all weekend. I typically don't do exercising on the weekend and just during the week, but today I will again get nothing in due to my dd staying home sick. I am hoping she will go back to school tomorrow (her fever has been normal since waking up this morning, just a sore throat and stuffy nose.) and I can get moving again. I did however buy a season pass to our state parks this weekend and we as a family are going to do lots of hiking and picnics this spring/summer/fall so I can get some movement on the weekends.

As far as the question.....Not sure if this is really nutritional, but I am going to try to be better at taking my multivitamin every morning. I haven't been to good at that and only taking it every other day or more.

I hope all are doing well and had a great weekend! :)

Oh bad me, I missed a few days :rolleyes1 But I got back on track today. I did 25 minutes C25K, 25 minutes on the bike and 10 minutes strength (arms). Total of 60 minutes.

350/1000

Thank you!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I did 25 minutes of the 30 day shred on Saturday and 60 minutes of mall walking :)

Today I did 25 minutes of the 30 day shred and 30 minutes of weights. My total is currently:

400/1000! Almost halfway there! :cool1:

Woo hoo!:woohoo::woohoo:

Even with some knee pain that I was able to work through, I managed to finish my first 10k pretty close to what I had hoped for. On to the Half in 3 weeks!:cool1:

3/8 - 30 minutes PT
3/9 - 62 minute run

393/1400

WooHoo:cheer2:

I'm sure you will CRUSH that Half in 3 weeks!

What is one good nutrition choice we can make this week?

Eat your green veggies!

I bring Sugar snap peas to work everyday and snack on them all day long. YUM

I compled day 1 of week two training today!
30 min run walk
Feeling good
As far as nutrition I think staying hydrated is my goal I get head aches really fast if I don't

180/600 for me!

571/1400
a little bit of walking, a little bit of running, and some rehab.
Thanks!

QOTD--I need to drink more water. I don't really drink anything. I am just not thirsty and then I forget. When I was sick (before going g-f) I was ridiculously thirsty and couldn't drink enough. I had the worst dry mouth ever. I have gone from one extreme to the other. :)

Congrats on your run Plutobaby. :)

This was a work weekend and crazy busy short staffed. And DST didn't help. With the stability ball being splated I got no extra exercise outside of work done.

But today I did get in a 2.5 hour run/walk. Pounded out all the frustrations from this weekend. :rotfl:

570/1200

I've got to get myself organized. I worked a total of 36 out of 50 hours this weekend, and only left work to run!lol So, 90 minute run on 3/9, 3/10 was a rest day, 60 minute run today.

630/1600

Hello there!

Yesterday I went to the gym for an hour of cardio. 290/620.

Great job plutobaby!!!

It was a really crazy weekend but I managed to get 30 min in on Sunday and 50 min run in tonight. New total 320/800

As for nutrition: this month I'm really trying so hard to drop a few pounds. I was making progress, actually, before ds's birthday party this weekend... Anyhow, my main approach is more veggies and lean protein, less carbs and sugar. It worked really well the last two weeks- finally got into some old pants of mine, but I feel like I was totally thrown off course with houseguests. I have 30 days til our Disney trip- why can't I seem to hold it together for 30 days?! :) I'm just glad I'm not running high mileage, I find it nearly impossible to "diet" then bc I need more and different fuel.

Hunter...I hope your daughter is well on the road to recovery!

Plutobaby - nice job on the 10K - congrats!

Thanks for all the kudos on my 5k - I just needed to get over the hump of actually doing one - I dawdled for days before I finally got up the nerve to register. As is often the case, after the fact I asked myself what the big deal was??

30 min walk today puts me at

302/800.

Regarding figments comment about needing different fuel for high mileage, I find myself hungry alot and am doing a lot of snacking. Can anyone comment on how they've changed their diets to account for the extra calories burned?

Thanks!

114 minutes yesterday brings me to 475/1400
