Making the DVC Rounds...A March '11 PTR: TR link added p. 30

Why did that flight get canceled if there was no snow in the forecast?! How awful! And the next available flight was 12 hours away---ugh! I can see why it makes you superstitious.

Did you watch the NYE fireworks? I really want to go back and see them again. They are simply incredible. I'd love for it to happen this year, but I don't know if it will.

I had no idea they had new judges on AI! Are all three of the other judges gone so they have all new ones, or just Simon? Steven Tyler will do a great job I think, he's just iconic in the rock world. And I LOVE that ride! Sooooo awesome!

Ahh, this part of the line always brings butterflies to my stomach! Especially when she says she got us a fast car and its out in the alley, then the door opens for us to move to the loading area. I swear everytime I watch people take off, I think to myself "What am I doing getting on this?!" Haha

I know, I still always get a little nervous before that ride. It's kind of nervewracking sitting in the car waiting for that launch. :rotfl:

I have a serious purse problem, so maybe we should start Purse Lovers Anonymous? :lmao:

I'll totally be watching AI. Can't judge it until I see it.

haha, maybe we should! Funny thing is I NEVER used to be a purse girl at all.

I have to catch up on AI since I worked last night so I'm going to have a 3-hour marathon tonight! I can't wait!

I'll be watching AI tonight! Even though Simon's gone I can't resist taking a peek. I've been watching that show since the beginning so I wanna see how it is now with just Randy. Do you know when the X-Factor starts to air?

I used to be so scared of RnR for the longest. I remember watching so many YouTube videos of it but when I'd go to MGM I just couldn't get on line. But now that I've been on it it's not even that bad! i think I read in one of my guide books that after the launch & first couple of turns it slows down to around 35 mph.

I'm not sure about the X-Factor show. But that'll be interesting to see.

haha, the first time I went on it I did it back to back with Tower of Terror. That was enough thrill for me for one day. I remember getting off and having jello legs. And the launch, I was just sitting there with my eyes closed and holding on for dear life. I was too scared to even scream.

There had been some bad weather a couple days before that messed up the flights so they were still recovering. The excuse was that they didn't have enough flight attendants (something having to do with their rest time in between flights). It was so annoying!

haha, no, we were actually out of the parks by probably 9 or 10:00. :rolleyes1 We didn't want to have to deal with the crowds anymore. Maybe sometime though...I do think it would be fun!

Last year it was Simon, Randy, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi. Ellen decided not to come back and I don't know what Kara's deal was. So Randy is still there, along with Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. I've seen some good comments about Steven Tyler, so we'll see. Ahh I can't wait to see it tonight!

Apparently I've been selectively reading only certain parts of this TR, so I just went and caught up with myself!

This is just a really cool picture! :thumbsup2

[quote="wdwgirl03, post: 39397573"] And then of course there was the backlot that had various sets/props from movies. Can you guess what any of these are from?

This one is actually from a TV show:

Whoo hoo I got those those two! And is small world at Disneyland the one where they've incorporated doll versions of Disney characters?

Are you still imagining you're on a bus? Now imagine that you're just a few minutes away from the park. The guy comes on and starts talking about the park and offers you some "inside tips". I don't know what it is about those spiels but it always gets me pumped. Maybe it's the way they describe the parks and all the attractions. Or maybe it's the park music that serves as the background. You can't help but get excited for your day! :yay::yay::yay: So...

my quote of the week is...

"It's all waiting for you today at the Magic Kingdom*. We'll be there soon!"

*or insert your park of choice ;)

I can literally hear that voice in my head and I got a little teary/nostalgic for it. We'll only get to hear it once on our next trip. :sad1:

Like I said, after that it started to get really cold. We had to bundle up in jeans, jackets, even mittens.

When we were there in Feb. '07, it was sooooo cold. Of course, being from Buffalo we hadn't really planned for it-I had left my winter jacket in the car when Dad dropped us off at the airport. There was a lot of layering going on and my mom still says to this day that Disney must have made a fortune off our group of 200+ for all the warmer clothes we bought while down there!

OMG I LOVE the new VB bag!!! :lovestruc That pattern is so adorable, I love the inside almost as much as the outside! I really love the new purple pattern also, I think that might be the pattern I FINALLY buy a hipster in, purple is my favorite color and I've been waiting for a new purple pattern to finally come out! :thumbsup2

Love the trip flashback, so much fun! I wish I got to see the Lights of Winter at Epcot, I missed it by a year! Maybe someday they will bring them back. :)

I love the quote of the week! RnRC is one of my favorite rides!

I liked the look back at your 2007-2008 trip. I'm an FSU girl, so I'm glad to hear you saw the Gators get beat! :thumbsup2

My comments are in purple. :)

Thanks...I think it turned out pretty neat too. :)

Nice job! And yes, Disneyland is where they incorporated the character dolls but that was done after we were there.

I can literally hear that voice in my head and I got a little teary/nostalgic for it. We'll only get to hear it once on our next trip. :sad1:

There is just something about that voice, along with so many other Disney quote...I think that's what inspired me to do the quotes as my countdown game! :goodvibes

LOL, I'm sure it was the same way when we were there with so many people buying sweatshirts/gloves/etc. Luckily we had some warmer stuff since it's kind of hard to leave WI in December without something warm. haha

I know, the inside is super cute too. I usually love the spring patterns more than the fall/winter ones and this season is no exception. I love them all! I think the purple one is really pretty too. Might have to get something in that once I accumulate more gift cards, hehe.

Even though we haven't been to WDW since they removed the Lights of Winter it made me really sad when I heard they didn't put them up. :sad2:

haha yeah, it was nice to see a Michigan victory especially with all the hype about Tim Tebow.

I'm watching AI,
but am DISing at the same time.
I turn around or look up, when it is interesting.

I need a new bag for my IPad.
The bag I bought at Kohl's didn't work.
The strap kept slipping and the bag was down past my hips
and kept slapping into my leg. Really annoying.
It fit my new camera, wallet, Ipad and some other things,
but it was super annoying.
So, I need something quick.

Oh, I loved the Christmas pictures.

I have to say so far I am enjoying this season of AI. I actually really like the new judges. Can't wait for Milwaukee auditions tomorrow though I hope they don't make us look stupid! haha

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been updating too much lately...but we're getting closer! Today we hit the 2-month mark according to my ticker, and according to my planner that's 59 days!:dance3::yay::woohoo: I seriously can't wait. I'm all of a sudden really excited about staying at Old Key West (not that I wasn't before!) and am trying to find pictures of the resort. I know there are a lot of threads on here for resort pictures but I can't find one for OKW. :confused3 Soooo...if you have any Old Key West pictures feel free to post them. :thumbsup2

Since we're under 60 days now, it's about time I start my list of must-do attractions/plans for each park. What better way to start off than with the Magic Kingdom!

Magic Kingdom Plans

MK EMH
Sun. 3/27 PM EMH 11 pm-2 am
Thurs. 3/31 AM EMH 8-9am

I don't know if we'll be able to take advantage of any of the EMH since Sunday is our first day there and we'll probably be going to the MK in the morning and Thursday is the day we've got our breakfast at Chef Mickey's!

With six full days we'll have plenty of time to do all of the things we want to at the Magic Kingdom. I definitely plan on being there for the opening show Sunday morning and I'm sure my sister won't argue with that...we just love it! :goodvibes:cloud9: Who knows, we might even be able to catch it more than once during the week...

The first day we visit the Magic Kingdom we typically do the "big" attractions. Those include:

:wizard: Space Mountain...nothing beats starting off your first day in the parks with a Disney classic!

:wizard: Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

:wizard: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
:wizard: Splash Mountain...triple mountain whammy, anyone? ;)

The thing about those four are that not only are they must-dos every trip, they're must-dos MULTIPLE times. I'm sure we'll try to ride them atleast twice. :thumbsup2

We'll also be sure to stop at Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion. Hopefully we'll be able to take a spin on Peter Pan's Flight...if not we'll be sure to do it on our second day when we do the rest of Fantasyland. I don't think anything is going to be closed during that time. Because it was closed in August I want to go on it's a small world.

There are also a couple of things I want to do that we've never done before. One of them is meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. OK, I loved that movie and can't wait to meet them! I also think it might be fun to stop and watch the castle show, Dream Along With Mickey. It's kind of weird, we've never really stopped to watch the castle shows so we've only ever seen bits and pieces of it. Might have to change that this trip.

And I'm sure we'll plan on seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes one night too.

Anything I missed? Or any suggestions for out-of-the-ordinary things to do at the MK (like a store or restaurant?)?

I'll leave you with another Quote of the Week, that comes from another classic Magic Kingdom attraction, one that I always enjoy riding for its relaxation factor. :thumbsup2 Yep, the good old Tomorrowland Transit Authority, aka the People Mover.

I know I've said this before but I was a much bigger fan of the old audio on this ride. There was something about it that made it seem more futuristic and fun. I loved all the mentions of things like the League of Planets, Rockettower Plaza, and other intergalactic stuff. :) I also always liked the "NOW APPROACHING...Mickey's Star Traders!" It really felt more like you were a citizen of Tomorrowland! And how could you forget the classic line,

"Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow. Your party from Saturn has arrived. Please give them a ring."

Boo, I miss the old version. :guilty: Feeling nostalgic too? Take a ride on the old TTA right here.

Wow I can't believe you're going in 59 days!!! The time just flew by between your last trip and this trip! Hope it does the same for me! Seems like October is years away! :rotfl:

MK must do's look great! :thumbsup2

You know what I love doing at MK that isn't very popular? The Swiss Family treehouse, but only at night! It's kind of creepy going through that house when it's dark, especially if the crowds are low and there aren't a lot of people up there with you, it's fun! Although climbing all of those stairs is tiring!

yay update!!!!! I'm jealous you have 6 days but then again I went 4 times last year so I guess I'm not hurting. I really would like a trip with little parks, more pool time, and more water park time..maybe this summer haha!!

Sounds like a good start though!

Man, it's coming up!

Great plan for the Magic Kingdom! I like the triple mountain plan.

I'm just like you too, I always try to get my favorites in multiple times on a trip.

Such a great, laid back resort! I wish I was there right now instead of looking out my window at 6 inches of new snow.:headache:

Yay for 2 months! :goodvibes I love your MK must-dos! I'm with you, I don't like the new TTA spiel, either.

Oh I loved American Idol last night! I hope they go back to Milwaukee again. :)

:wizard: Splash Mountain...triple mountain whammy, anyone? ;)
"I'm gonna ride that puppy!" :goodvibes

I'm sure you have ridden Astro Orbitor.
It takes so long to get up to the top, but the scenery is great.
Very cheesy ride, but still good.
Did you figure out which days, you will be at each park?
I know the MK has EMH on the 31st-Thurs. plus the local h.s. band plays that evening.

I don't know if I will get my sisters up and going that early, but I can try, or I can tell them to meet me there, when they get going.

I usually do Buzz at least 3 times in the morning, because of no line.

That sounds like a perfect Mk day!!! Brought a smile to my face with your Tom Morrow bit....man I miss that:sad2:

I can't wait to see all your pics form OKW...there is something about that resort that I really want to stay there...can't wait to hear all about it!

That looks like a wonderful MK day! I do miss the old voice on the TTA too, but the new one doesn't bother me either. I am VERY happy they added the "Paging Mr. Tom Morrow" back in, but I miss the Mickey Star Traders bit.

I have a few OKW pics, but they were in the dark, so they aren't great:

Approaching the dock via the boat from DTD

561031560_rFjeU-O.jpg

A very sparkly boat! I liked how the dock was right there, it was part of the main area you walk around instead of tucked off somewhere. The water runs right through the resort, which is so pretty!

I know, it is coming up fast. I can't wait!

Dad and I did the Swiss Family Treehouse in April and it was pretty neat. It's just one of those things we overlook and don't do very often so it was cool to do it again.

yay update!!!!! I'm jealous you have 6 days but then again I went 4 times last year so I guess I'm not hurting. I really would like a trip with little parks, more pool time, and more water park time..maybe this summer haha!!

LOL, yeah, you've taken lots of trips (not that I haven't...). By the time we go I think you'll have been there a bunch of times between your trips this year and your birthday trip!

Man, it's coming up!

Great plan for the Magic Kingdom! I like the triple mountain plan.

The new TTA spiel is OK but I definitely prefer the new one.

haha, glad you liked AI in Milwaukee. It still kind of annoys me though that all the good people they showed weren't even from here. :sad2:

Good old Stacy. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who quotes her.

Hey, don't forget I'm the one who has resort TV on my ipod...:rolleyes1 So I wouldn't think anything of having the video bookmarked.

I'm sure you have ridden Astro Orbitor.

haha, yup, we've done Astro Orbitor. It's not one we're able to do every trip but every once in a while we'll squeeze it in. I do like the view from the top.

We have not figured out where we're going to go each day. I am almost positive we'll go to the MK our first morning just because we can't break tradition. :goodvibes Hopefully we'll be able to visit each park once for opening. The 31st is the day we've got our breakfast at Chef Mickey's so we won't be there for opening...but we could always go after or later in the day. It would be fun to see the band.

I love Buzz!!!
