The Running Thread - 2026

My year has been focused on training for the marathon and and I didn’t do many races and didn’t get pics. But here’s me on a long run!

ATTQOTD: here's me rounding the final turn of my first-ever marathon, as part of Dopey. The Half the day before went terribly, and I thought there was no way I'd ever be able to finish the full, but then the first 15 or so miles went super well, the next few were kind of crap, but then I caught up with @Herding_Cats and @The Expert and they pulled my brain out of its funk (and pulled me along physically for a couple minutes ) and then we picked up @nancipants at The Boardwalk and we all finished together(ish)

Great photo. Lots of joy there. You'd never know that you were finishing 48.6 miles, and you look like you are flyin'.

I did not do an organized race today, but I did take advantage of the sunshine and warm(er) temps to get in what was supposed to be an easy run. Buuuuut, all was feeling good and it wound up being 4 miles at a fairly-fast-for-me 10:41 pace.
I'll do better with a slower 3 mile run on Sunday.
