Our last two cruises have been on the Fantasy in category 5E staterooms. We were off the aft of the ship and had extended verandahs. The verandahs were like having another whole room but outside with lounge chairs, a table, and two regular chairs. We spent a ton of time out there and not sure we'd want to cruise again without all of that extra space. My question is does the Magic have anything similar? My wife is a Tangled fanatic and really wants to see the show at sea. Thinking the booking window for 2018 should be opening soon and hoping one of you experts can send me in the right direction. Thanks! :yay:

There are verandah rooms on the Magic.

I believe the extended verandah on the classic ship have solid white wall railings with no plexiglass.

Thanks everyone! I didn't see any a picture or layout that had the deluxe verandah Stateroom with the extended verandah like we had on the aft of the Fantasy. I guess the magic just doesn't have the option. The verandahs on the one bedroom looks amazing but I doubt we could swing that. Thanks again!

nothing to add about verandahs, but regarding tangled...
DD's on the magic right now (in the med)...
she just told me on the phone that they skipped dinner last night so that they could see tangled twice!!!!!
and she said it was totally worth it!!!
they LOVED it!!!!!

We were very lucky on booking a GTY verandah and were assigned 6154 on the Magic - which is a an accessible cabin. It has the most amazing layout inside the cabin with a roll-in shower and a separate tub/shower in the oversized bathroom and another big empty room with a door that we used to store the suitcases. The verandah is AMAZING. Very large with 2 lounge chairs and a table with 4 chairs. Part of the verandah is covered if you want to stay out of the sun. It did have a white wall, so the only way to see the water was to stand at the rail.

We are also huge 5E fans and no there is nothing like that in the magic or wonder. I love the older ships but I am very bummed not to be able to book an extended verandah. We actually went with an ocean view since I'm not sure those little verandahs are worth it. The accessible verandah sounds similar to a 5 E but you can't book those unless you're handicapped or you get very lucky with your GTY, which of course you can't count on.

In reply to my own post some of the 6A's on the classic ships seem similar to the 5Es on the newer ships. The problem with them (for me anyway) is that they can only accommodate 3. And yes they are solid whitewall but so are the 5Es on the newer ships.

Are they extended verandahs? Do you think we'd have a chance the day the new itineraries are announced? Thanks! :yay:

Yes they are extended verandahs with a solid white wall. Look aft on a Magic or Wonder deck plan layout. Deck 5 5150 &5650, deck 6 6150, 6152, 6652 and 6650 or deck 7 7134 or 7634. I would think they would certainly be available when new dates open up. I just hate that they only accommodate 3, we are 4!!

They definitely look like they have an extended verandah but it doesn't look like any of them are connecting rooms so might not work out. All of the deck plans I've looked at have an asterisk next to those Stateroom numbers. Any idea what that's about? Can't find anywhere. Thanks for all your help!

The asterisk means it's a solid white wall verandah. Below the railing is a solid wall, not plexiglass.
