We'll be going in May and bringing a Maclaren Stroller.

How do you lock yours without it being a hastle?

The wheels are solid, so there is no way to put a lock through them, etc.

I just want my niece to be comfortable, especially if she takes a nap later in the day.

I'd like to figure out a way that is simple, fast and easy. I dont want to have to use some kind of lock that I have to wrap around and is a hassle.

Is there anything I can do that isnt a hassle?

sorry...you want to lock the stroller up, by the wheels, when your child is in the stroller?

i am confused!

Don't take it! Get a $12 Walmart stroller or rent one! You have no idea how many times i've seen those things stolen, even when people locked them up somehow.

You can't lock the stroller to anything at WDW - the CMs will cut the lock off, and move your stroller to who-knows-whereville (not to be confused with Whoville) but a coiled bike lock put through the seating area of the stroller would make it mighty uncomfortable for anyone to sit in! Do the wheel covers pop off, so that you could lock the back wheels together, if you don't want the hassle of stringing a lock through the straps/sides of the stroller?

We took our Maclaren on our last trip and it's decked out in wide lime green with purple polka dots, wide loud plaid, and another bright ribbon; in three separate places. I put the ribbons in places that were noticable but not easily removed just by untying. Not saying that loud ribbons or identifying markers are fool proof, but we never had ours stolen. One of the best identifying markers I've ever heard of was a fake poopy diaper in a plastic grocery bag tied to the handle :rotfl2:

I have brought mine for 6 different trips to Disney and never had any problems. Just make sure you can tell which is your so no one takes it on accident. I would not worry about it being stolen.

I took 2 Mac Volos last trip and had no problems at all. One is pink and one is orange. I hung a toy around the handle of each one to make it easy to pick out in the sea of strollers at each attraction.

Sorry- I don't know how to tell you to lock it, and from what I understand you couldn't to that anyway because the CMs rearrange them quite often to make use of space. I've taken my Mac to Disney twice before and I've never had a problem or felt the least bit funny leaving it alone. I've seen lots of cheap umbrella strollers and quite a few strollers that were lots more expensive than my Mac. Occasionally I will have to hunt for it after being moved for a CM but it's always been close by.

Sorry, I should have clarified more and said, "How do I lock the wheels."

I know I cant lock it to anything, etc. But, the wheels are solid, without spokes, so its more difficult to neutralize than other brands.

The reason I am bringing the stroller is for my niece's comfort. I just dont want it taken during the trip and be without it. It's an ease to navigate and push, plus she can nap in the parks while reclined, etc.

Short of drilling a hole in the wheels, are there any ideas out there?

Truthfully, I really wouldn't worry too much about it. There are hundreds of Maclaren strollers in the parks every day, so don't worry about it being the most alluring stroller to steal. As long as you don't leave stuff in it, don't worry about it. I always mark mine in some way, to make it more recognizable, and have never had an issue.

We have taken 2 macs the last 4 years and never had one stolen...we don't lock them...I guess we have been lucky.

Our Maclaren will be making its fourth trip to Disney next month, so no theft concerns here. Can't say I've ever tried locking the wheels... well, aside from the built-in wheel locks that keep it from rolling away.

We always wrap something colorful (like a fake-flower lei) around the handle to make it easy to find in the sea of ever-moving-around strollers.

We have taken our Peg Perego Pliko P3 twice to WDW and never once locked its wheels and both times it came right back home with us. It's a lot more expensive the our new Mac Quest that we bought which will be coming with us on our next trip in March. I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Just put something on the stroller so you can easily identify it in the sea of strollers. That will not only help you but will also prevent others from grabbing yours by accident.

Ditto. Our Mac has survived many, many WDW trips without issue. Yes it does happen once in a blue moon but when you consider the thousands of strollers at WDW every day your odds are pretty good.

Our Macs have also survived 4 trips. they do get moved so identify them somehow. Would not really worry about it to much.

I just got a Maclaren Quest for Christmas....specifically for our Disney trip. We plan on making a fairly large sign w/ our last name on it, laminating it and then tying it to the stroller w/ zip ties. I will also probably hang something else on it ( I like the lei idea :) ) I really hope this will deter thiefs from it. I can't picture us dealing w/ a lock constantly...or dealing w/ one of those cheap Wal-Mart strollers for that matter! We'll use the stroller at Disney more than ever, I'd rather us be comfortable and our baby.

Would you take a Valco stroller to the parks? I just got a new one and was planning on taking it this May.... Any thoughts appreciated.

Just thought of something.. Is there anyway to get the stoller canopy monogrammed or screened? The canopy comes off so easy so I think it could work?

:)

Really, locking the wheels won't do any good as if someone truly wanted to steal it they could just fold it up and walk away with it....

One thing people have done is use a lock that prevents it from being folded. Strollers have to be folded to go on the parking lot trams or on the buses (and to fit in car trunks). CMs have posted that people who have taken one sometimes ditch it at the point where it would need to be folded; those strollers end up in lost and found.
