I have seen a canine sniffing not once but twice today, which is something I've not seen that frequently before.

I know they are around everyday, and I am used to seeing them at the park entrances and occasionally walking around. Twice today they came onto transportation. The first time the handler took the dog onto the boat leaving DHS, and just now he came onto the monorail at the TTC.

Just found that curious. I'm plenty glad to see them, just wondering why so frequently today.

I have never seen any dogs sniffing while we were at disney. What are they sniffing for, drugs or firearms? Kind of scary. Maybe they were just testing a new dog out today?

Last trip we were seated eating and an adjacent table was empty but had a backpack on the ground. The dog came in and sniffed it and then it was removed from the area. Safety first but apparently someone just left their bag behind.

Wow I am here now (at BCV) and we were at HS today also and didnt see anything.

They could have been training dogs to be prepared and keep the dogs in good practice, just like people need to practice their skills. However, I've been to WDW many times in Sept. and seen dogs and felt comforted by them. Don't forget, the anniversary of 9/11 is coming up. God Bless America, our troops and WDW!

We seen a dog sniffing around the front of Epcot during rope drop on the 29th. Didn't see anymore after that tho.

Well said!! :-)

May be too the extra crowds with a holiday weekend?

Haven't noticed them before - will keep an eye out.:)

I've never seen a dog sniffing. My first thought was they were sniffing for bed bugs. (They can travel anywhere, not just in hotel rooms.)

I was at WDW the end of June & saw sniffing dog on the monorail several times. I never saw that during past trips.

I've only seen a Disney dog once, near the turnstiles of Epcot way off to the side. I think that's where the of the kennels was before they built that big new one. We had a service dog and it was potty time, and by the kennel was one of the "approved" spots at the time. I happened to look up and see a man in a uniform with a dog (I believe a German Shepard) heading our way, but he stopped near the corner of the building and waited til we were out of the area to bring the dog over. I can only imagine he thought the dogs might react to each other or draw too much attention, but it makes me wonder if they have the sniffers use the service dog break sites.

Saw them twice on this trip. Once outside the turnstiles at Epcot, and once yesterday afternoon out front of MK.
Come to think of it, I saw way more security vehicles and people in security uniforms than I remember seeing before on other trips as well.

We were at BB this day. The sherif and security were all over which usually isn't the case. Not sure what was going on.
