I'm just wondering who I would contact to give us a tour of these when we're down in Dec. Is there a DVC compnay that is better to deal with or is there just the one? I'm totally new to this and I'm thinking this will benefit us in the future.

DVC reps are set up in the lobby of all of the resorts and they have kiosks set up around the world as well including the parks. So its fairly easy to find one.

There's just 1 company to buy direct and that is DVC. And as mentioned, they're all over WDW just talk to any of them;)

VWL is a sold out DVC resort though and the smallest of all of them. If you buy directly from DVC you may have to go on a waitlist if they have nothing available at the moment. You could also go resale though with any number of resale places...I'd definetly recommend checking the resales right here from the Timeshare store. Click at the top of these boards to view them and if any interest you give them a shout:)

You can go online and request a DVC DVD or call the toll free number found on the website. You'll be assigned a guide when you make the call and they will be able to set up a tour for you at SSR in December.

As others have mentioned, SSR is the only resort DVC is actively selling at this time. You can still purchase the sold out resort from Disney but you can also purchase resale from several reputable resellers and save a little money. I'm not exactly sure what Disney is charging these days but I believe it's $98/pt @ SSR and $92/pt for the sold out resorts.

If you can't get what you want directly from DVC, the sponsor of this board has 2 listings, jump on them!!! Because VWL is so small, only a few listings pop up!!

Allearsnet.com has some great pics of VWL if you want to see what the rooms look like. I think you can also go to wdw.com and see some as well.

A couple years ago we were visiting at WL and on a lark stopped at the front desk, explained we were already members, and asked if we could see one of the VWL units. The CM (not a DVC rep) was very helpful and took us right over and showed us a 1BR. I think she was happy for an excuse to get away from the front desk for a few minutes!

Of course there's no guarantee this will always work. And the situation may be completely different if you are prospective buyers as there are a lot of laws concerning selling of timeshares. I don't think a DVC rep would show you a VWL room as they can't sell it to you.

They only have models over at SSR, there are no models any longer at VWL. So you can't really set up a tour of VWL. The room layout is very similar to SSR, only the color scheme is different. If a room is empty, they might be able to show you a room at VWL, but in December that probability would be small.

If you want to buy VWL, you'll have to go to one of the on-line resale realtors. There's one who sponsors this board, there's Jaki Apetz (don't remember her site), several others. Good luck!

I purchased a VWL resale this spring through the Timeshare Store. It was all very easy. The only hitch was that VWL resales (in the points range I wanted) do not come up very often.

Once I found the resale, the rest was smooth.

I decided I wanted VWL, because WL was where I always stayed.

Good luck!
