Looking for recommendatiosn on laundry stain remover

If I were you, I'd use dish liquid 1st and try to work it out before washing. You already have this at home. Do NOT put it into the dryer if it doesn't come out (of course you wouldn't, but..). If that didn't work, I'd use Simple Green. I can guarantee it will come out with that if the stain hasn't been set. Many mechanics wives use it for their husband's clothing. You can find it at Western Auto & Sam's Club used to carry it.

Lestoil is great for grease and grass stains. Just be sure to pay attention to the surface that you try to clean it on. Before we left for WDW, I had applied it to one of my DS's shirts. I forgot and left it on the butcher block (but finished) counter (breakfast bar) overnight. The Lestoil ate though the finish and left a huge black stain right in the middle of the counter. DH had to sand the entire surface, (4 by 8 ft) to restore it. He just applied the last coat of polyurethane tonight. It took all weekend and it will be another 72 hours before I can use. I still like Lestoil however, I will be more careful.

I use Simple Green on my DH's dirty work clothes.

You can find it in the automotive section in most stores. I get it at Wal-Mart.

brown naptha laundry soap and brush usually works for me

Haven't tried it but read in budget column - clear shampoo (must be clear) and salt with brush gets out all grease and most stains.
