Yeah, we're letting Ally watch some shows that I know are geared for older kids, but I did crack down on Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh. In fact, I'm keeping her off Nick. Every so often, they have something on there that is totally inappropriate for a 7 year old. Even though Zoey and D&J seem okay, the humor is much older. Once I caught her watching Nick, which at the time I thought was okay, and it was a show about a 16 yr old who got pregnant! :scared1: That was when I implemented the Disney Channel ONLY rule.

Getting ready to order Chinese for dinner. Nobody feels like cooking - I think we're still full from last night! :rotfl:

This stuff he is trying out is just so blasted agressive! I turned it off, and he got so aggravated he hit me. No TV for that child tonight! We had a long talk, and I think he knows that i mean business!

I've been doing my stack of paperwork for my appt tomorrow. Gosh are they VERY interested in EVERYTHING! Good though. I leave with a diagnosis tomorrow after another CT scan, Pulminary Function Test, Allergy Tests :thumbsup2 , Scoping of Sinuses, etc. 4 hours of FUN, FUN, FUN! :rotfl: At least we will know what is up, what to do to fix it, and end all this madness.

Of course, one big question was do you have a pet that sleeps in the bed with you. I TOLD Carlos we need a new mattress. Our dog slept with us for 10 years. I am going to die if they tell me we need a new one! Our mattress isn't that old - but it is 8 years old. And since I am so much worse at night, that is where my money is  .

Kara, Carlos is eyeing my steamer to clean his rims. :sad2:

As far as your comment about CMs - that place did not impress me one bit. The food at CP seemed by far (leaps and bounds) better. Characters were SLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOW! We spent 2 hours there. It just wasn't all that. I felt Tusker did a better show. I think I'm canning it - hopefully it will make someone's day. I know it is a "must do" for many, but I think I would rather make that night "magical" with Spectro. How often can you do something like that on your birthday? :confused3 :dance3:

Okay, off to clean myself tonight with all my non-scented products so I can do a quick clense in the morning and get going without waking the house up with the hairdryer! Wish me luck! :upsidedow

PS - Jillian - they will be specifically checking for any masses too, so we will see.

Hi all! I've had such a busy weekend! Party on Friday, church on Sat, training for newbie today, then Jim and I went to a new chop house for our Valentine's dinner - then DQ for everyone on the way home.

For our trip to Vegas in April, we had rooms at MGM Grand for $846 for 5 nights - today Jim's uncle told him about how cheap he found rooms in Henderson, so Jim got online and found us rooms at the newly refurbished Tropicana for $344 for the 5 days! It's right next door anyway, so not any further to walk to the convention than from the tower at MGM. I'm pretty stoked about the $500 savings! That will take care of our food for the week! I don't think we'll get a car - Jim's uncle will drive us to the lake when we go, otherwise we can walk everywhere - we should be in shape from Disney!:thumbsup2

Kara, I'll try to be good:angel: I have a fondue pot, but my cheese fondue always stinks. I would love a good recipe! Congrats on the radio, and the colon cleanse! :rotfl: (sorry, I guess it's pick on Kara week:goodvibes ) As for your hair, sounds cute! The eyelash thing scares me - my eyes watered from every mascara I ever used before Arbonne - tried them all. I do want to get eyeliner tatooed, though.

Hi Debbie! Tell Cammie hi when you hear from her!

Lorrie, hope your tests help them find something.

Hi Jillian! Hi to everyone else! Guess I'd better get sheets on the bed - Jim is looking tired!

I got a text from Cammie awhile ago and she said Lauren woke up sick today! :sad2: Hopefully she'll perk back up - nothing worse than being sick on vacation!

Good Monday Morning girls! It is vacation week here so we have My Nephew and Tabitha and we are trying to think of fun things to do. I am thinking the movies, aquarium, batting cages and bowling should give them a little something to do everyday.

I am going to make t shirts tonight and I ordered some transfer for the white t shirts. Start packing and then tomorrow is tshirt/shorts shopping and flip flops. I am so excited.

I hate that Cammie and Lauren are sick I hope they are feeling a bit better today.

Kara- Can't wait for you to post that fondue recipe I would love to try it Yum. What day are we meeting up? Do you just want to call me when you get to Orlando?

Lorrie- How are the plans going? Also What steamer do you have? Where did you get it? My Mom is looking for one and I thought since you and Kara love yours I would pick that one up for her.

Well off to Make an early dinner. Pam you are invited to this one too!

oh that's too bad about Lauren. hopefully she will pop out of it. I have the bug! I need to plan something fun. I have our parent grade party this weekend and I am so not into it. yuck. SO I have decided I need to start working on my budget for the trip that is 2 years away!! :rotfl2: Yes a bit obsessive but I want to do it so I need to hide a little cash away each month.

I am thinking 7 days at least at a value resort with the DDXP. I loved it last time and we are big eaters. crazy I know. but i am in the dumps over our project list and current state of the weather. I want a new kitchen and windows but I need to live in a fantasy world so I am going to plan it out. :rotfl: I think this is why I am a worry wort and control freak

OK, cheese fondue recipe.

4 oz of beer (or milk, but the beer is what I have always had)
set fondue pot about 300 deg and as soon as beer begins to steam and lightly bubble, add about 1/2 t of garlic and a couple shakes of dry mustard.

Then take the cheddar cheese (make sure it is floured if you shred yourself - the prepackaged shredded cheese is already floured) and add about 2 oz at a time and mix with fork, keep adding until it is the right consistency and then add a couple squirts of worcestershire sauce and ground black pepper if desired.

turn heat way down so it doesn't scorch!

Jillian - the only plans we have for this trip is Sci Fi on Saturday for lunch. Otherwise, we'll just go wherever Ally wants to go each day. She loves AK so we'll probably go there for at least 1/2 a day, and I'm insisting on Epcot, cause we didn't go there in Nov. So it's almost like we might miss MK this trip. Weird, I know.

We should get in arounf 3 or 4 on Friday I'm guessing. So I'm thinking MK on Friday night, MGM Sat morning, then Epcot the rest of the day, and then AK on Sunday. See? I KNEW I could figure a way to hit all four parks in 2 1/2 days!

So I finally have a game plan for decorating the living room and dining room. First of all, we have older furniture in there, but just can't afford to go buy something more formal. So I'm gonna try slip covers in either dark red or off white, then I"m painting the walls in there the same color as the foyer and family room - a beige color. Then I'm gonna go with a deep red below the chair rail in the dining room.

We also don't like our dining room set, but we're stuck with that. Eventually I want to move the LR furniture up to the bonus room and make it a real TV room for Ally - right now it's just a couple of bookcases and computer desk (with no computer!) and TV up there. Plus beanbags. But that won't happen until we someday get new furniture in the LR.

Anyone have experience with slip covers?

Then I picked out paint for my office - it's called Pesto, but it's more a medium green, kind of on the sage side. I think that will look great with the white trim and the hardwood floors we want to lay in here. We've picked out the hardwoods, just need to buy and install. If it's as easy as everyone says, we're gonna tackle the rest of the downstairs, except for the LR and DR.

Plus with the green paint, I can accent either golf, floral, or even beachy. So that should be good. I think I'm gonna paint the LR and DR this weekend as it's gonna be cold and gloomy I think. I'm gonna go to JCP tonight and check out their slip covers.

See, our Family room is beige, with a lot of deep red accents, and the kitchen is green with red and gold accents. So I kinda want to keep the red accents flowing, along with the beige and gold.

Cammie said she's in shorts and flip flops today!

I'm in a sweatshirt and sweatpants today! I think it's warmer outside than it is in my house!

Kara, thanks for the update on Cammie - I hope Lauren is feeling better. I want to be in shorts and flips! It has been snowing on and off here for a few days.

Thanks for the fondue recipe - we'll try it this weekend.:thumbsup2 I like your decorating ideas! I haven't ever had "good" slip covers. I tried cheap ones when the kids were little, and they would never stay in place. Go figure - 4 to 5 boys in the house jumping on them :confused3

I'm trying to figure out what to do in here after everyone moves out. We need to replace the carpet, but can't do the bedrooms yet, so we're thinking bamboo with a dark finish. I have the black and white kitchen with red and yellow accents - mostly disney. Right now, the LR an DR - all open to each other - are in greens and golds with just a little red here and there, and some plum- they are a little too formal considering the kitchen. I just used what I had when we moved in except for the window coverings, and never really changed anything.

I'm thinking about going with light yellow walls - maybe a different tone in the LR - I'll have to go down the hall way with it, too. I want to change the pillows and curtains to somehow tie all the colors together. I've been playing on the Behr paint website with different color combos.

Laura, I love to live in "fantasyland" too! :goodvibes I was just saying today that I will be really sorry when our trip is over, because planning is half the fun for me. I got my new passporter on Friday - I was so excited!!

Jillian, your trip is SO CLOSE!!! I need to check back in on your PTR!
Lorrie, I'll see you on your PTR!

Well, I really should get something done - I'll check back later!

I ordered mine from Amazon (no shipping, no tax and cheaper than retail.
I had it bookmarked and it is gone...

Kara - do you have the link still?

How exciting to be getting ready for your trip! I love new Flops :lovestruc

:cool1: Hey, that is how I started and found a deal that saved us money, so you never know. Planning is fun though, and I"m so happy you have been planning too!!!!!

Slipcovers = :mad: *(*^&% *&^&*^&^ %%^%^$&&& :mad:

Had them - hated them - spent every day adjusting them - HATED THEM. Our dog constantly (and Carlos too) would sit and they would get out of line and looked sloppy so I was constantly moving them about trying to make them look nice. I had the nicer recommended ones too. HATED THEM!

Now, that was about 5 years ago, so maybe they've come a long way since them - but those STUNK!

I texted Cammie - said Lauren should be fine - just stuffy. Poor girl. Hope that it clears up quickly! They stayed out till 3 am and then slept in today - so maybe that is it! I can't even wrap my head around how wonderful being at MK with your mom until 3 am would be. :cloud9:

Notice I said YOUR mom. :lmao:

ALLERGY /SINUS TEST RESULTS:

Okay, MASSIVE allergy to grass - small minor allergy (not enough to be a true positive, but enough for them to note: strawberries, bananas, and cockroaches :rotfl2: SO.... :rotfl2: I can't stay at anything less than 4 star hotels now. :rotfl:

Seriously though - CT showed I'm barely taking air in - some mucus cysts showing previous severe infection on the right side (where I always complain about). Nothing they can do surgically, or that shots would do for the grass allergy.

So my plan:
1. Since no infection is present, I get to take Prednisone (and I am on such a high dose I got given a strict diet or told I'd gain 20 lbs in 7 days!:scared1: )
2. Nasaquart AQ twice a day daily
3. DO NOT USE NETIPOT! It causes fluid to get to the ear tubes, so they recommend the sinus wash bottle instead to use in the shower or lean your head forward so your nose & lips are horizontal. I have massive fluid behind both ears.
4. Another nose spray - allergy related, can't remember the name off hand
5. STOP MUSINEXD (only use it 1 hour prior to flying)
6. AFRIN okay to use one squirt once a day indefinately, or as directed on the box for 5 days max.
7. Zyrtec daily whenever grass pollen count is up - or April thru July
8. Wash sinuses 2x daily - and any time I've been outside
9. Shower & change clothes immediately when I come in
10. no one on the bed with "pollen clothing"

My problem is swelling related, so that is my plan. I follow back up in 2 weeks. I'm excited about all the help and knowledge. I'm hopeful this will end all the madness. It was 11 antibiotics I took last year - heavy duty ones at that!

They told me the pred would make me a **(&(& and to just give out blanket apologies that I would not be myself for the next 7 days. So there is yours! :rotfl:

Kara - I think I can only swing meeting up at Boma with you. That next day, I just don't see a way we can hit EPCOT until 7ish, and I bet you will be gone by then. We might not get the drink at EPCOT this go round. That first day after Boma, we'll be at AK that day.

BTW - my massive grass allergy is mostly to fescue - not bermuda. That is why I do so stinkin well at the beach in FL. We may have to move. :thumbsup2

Lorrie - First of all, I don't know for sure where we'll be each day - depends on BSIL I'm sure. I just don't know if we're doing a park with them that day - I'm hoping NO, after the way they behaved last time. I don't really want to ride the Tomorrowland race cars 8 times in a row.... So we might be at AK - ya just never know!

As for the slip covers, these will be in the LR where NOBODY will ever sit! So hopefully they'll work. Although right now that is Bucky's couch, so I have to train him to stay off....

The allergies.... oy vey! That's about all I can say. I'm also allergic to fescue which is what our yard was at our old house. I do much better here with st augustine grass. But I have a heck of a time when I go to my inlaws - and here I thought I was allergic to THEM! :rotfl2:

And maybe the diet they gave you is just the push you need, ya know? Now that it's warming up, try to get out for about 1/2 hr brisk walk each day, too. It will do wonders for your mood as well as exercise!

Yeah - you know, not to get all religious on you guys, but I had been praying for help in the dieting department, careful to clarify in those prayers that I was not asking for any major sickness, but rather the strength to finally get it in gear.

Guess what?

Be careful what you ask for - you just might get it!

3 oz of meat daily only
Limitations on carbs/proteins
Certain "free" veggies (think the yuckier - the higher on the list)
limited fruits
no bread
no processed foods
no sugar
2 1/2 cups of juice are allowed though -

Basically - how you should probably eat every day anyway. You are right about the weather and exercise. I have no excuses now. I was just feeling too tired. They think the meds will help that. Oddly - that is the #1 sign of major sinus issues - fatigue.

OY VEY! :scared1:

Renee- Do you remember the brand name?

You and your poor sinuses. I can't believe all you have to go thru to feel better. UGH!

I am thinking No carb until Disney I need to feel a bit better and it always boosts my energy!

Oh, Lorrie, I think they tricked you when they gave you that diet! That's what they tell everyone to eat with anything they do, including COLON CLEANSE!!!! :scared1: J/K but it will definately make a difference, and I'm sure you'll feel better!

Hi Girls...
Quick one. Sorry to say Renee but Prednisone is TERRIBLE!!! You won't even feel like yourself and the part about gaining weight is NO exaggeration. The bad thing is I think you will be feeling VERY hungry on it along with a terrible PMS feeling. I feel so bad for you...really I do. I wish you were just better! Good luck with all of this. I forgive you ahead of time for any cross words you throw my way! LOL!

Mark will be working nights for two weeks which throws my whole routine (and computer time) off!!!!

Hi Kara, Laura, Jillian and Tammie........
Sorry so short!

Everyone, thanks for the support. I'm sure that I'll be complaining bigtime about cutting out the Dr. Pepper (although I give it up each year for Lent) but that first week is always a rough one! ;)

I'm crawling out of my skin. I've never taken this stuff before. I'm in a full body sweat off taking one! Tomorrow and the rest of the days I take 3! YIKES!

Debbie - you ARE NOT talking this stuff up dear! :sad2: At least I know I've got to pay attention about the weight gain. I've already chewed off what little bit of fingernails that I have left - not pretty.

OH! Since DH forgot V-day AGAIN  he told me I could get some new crocs (how nice of him  ) www.crocs has an outlet and ALL the disney styles are in there. ALL HALF PRICE TOO - just fyi in case anyone is looking for any. They had all styles including flops which I didn't know they made in Disney.

Jillian - I found the name... SteamFast SF-275 SteamMax Steam Cleaner. That is the same one that Kara has too. I think it retails at $150, but no shipping no tax at amazon and I got it for 97 I think. After my trip to the dr today, it is just a nice option when they tell you non-frag cleaner!

I'm going to bed. I hope I can sleep. I feel like I have drank about 16 cups of coffee. :hyper: this is going to be a rough week!

Kara (or anyone else too), I know that you like San Angels @ epcot. Which to do - San Angels or Cantina? Are they about the same or is one way better for Cinco de Mayo - or for that matter would we be better off doing MK CS (it is a GOOD night at MK since Epcot is EMH)

I'd just do MK if Epcot is EMH. But some people don't like San Angel. It is not tex/mex, it is a lot of seafood, not burritos and such. But the atmosphere at San Angel is awesome! It's really dark and sits along the river in the Rio del Tiempo boat ride in the Mexico pavillion. We like Cantina for a quick CS meal. The portions are good and it is the kind of mexican food we find at home - burritos, etc.

How are you feeling today?

Well, our garage freezer died. It's actually our old fridge/freezer fromour old house, and the freezer portion died. We have a big freezer chest too, but it's been turned off, so Jeff turned it on last night and now I can't open it to move the food from the other freezer. It's got a vacuum seal or something. And there's no room in the kitchen freezer for this stuff so I'm pissed right now. I don't even know if the big freezer out there is clean or now - Jeff assured me it is. Mmmm, hmmmm. Like he would have a clue! So I don't know what to do now. But we've got a lot of meat in the freezer that's gonna go bad! I guess it'll hold until he gets home tonight..... I hope.

I'm really grumpy today - woke up at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep! What is up with that??? So think I'm gonna go nap during lunch, then I have the neighbor kids coming home from school with Ally. So I'll need to get myself showered at a decent time today! :rotfl2:

Starting to like my hair a little better. Still hate the color, but the style is easier - I just use the diffuser and scrunch it and it's okay. I'm getting used to it. I think another couple of inches and I'll be happy.

Jillian - I love that steamer! I've done a little research and it looks like I can use it on hardwoods too, since it dries so fast. I don't think I'd use it a lot, maybe every 6 weeks or so to get a deep clean, but it seems safe. Honestly, the dirt on the cloth after I'm done is disgusting! My mop water was never that dirty. It really does a great job!!!! Once all the pollen is done, I'm gonna use it on the outside bar, too.

I just realized that we'll be seeing you in a little over 2 weeks!!!! I do know that we wanna hit AK one day so we can all ride Primeval Whirl. That is one ride that NONE of us have ever done. Probably that Sunday, but I don't know for sure......
