Tammie - I forgot to comment on this several times even though I mean to. With things like they are, I'd be better approaching Carlos about the trip next year - and we could manage that better anyway I think.

Now all that said if it works out for everyone else to continue to go this year, I'll move heaven & earth to be there, but with the economy the way it is AND my trip to WDW with the family AND my weekend with my BF, I'd feel really selfish.

STILL - I hope you all know for me it isn't a matter of IF I will go on a weekend with you guys but WHEN :grouphug:

Lorrie, that is probably the concensus, (?) but It just ocurred to me the other day - it will be so fun when we can all do it, and it will be good that we have all met each other here and there by then - so our families will know we are not axe-murders! :rotfl2:

Okay ladies, I started my PTR for March - its in my siggie! I can re-plan anymore, so I need to vent!

Jillian, I forgot to mention last night that I got a code for the car rental on the Budget boards on DIS. You might look over there and see what people are finding.

Happy Friday the 13th!

Well, we have another project going on. We're gonna lay hardwoods in my office, and then if that goes as simply as everyone tells us, we're gonna lay them throughout the rest of the downstairs! I just hate this cheap carpet in our house - it's destroyed after only a year. Then I wanna get berber on the steps and upstairs.

Even though I complained about my hardwoods in our last house, they were so pretty, and I didn't really know how to clean them at that time. We're looking at the handscraped style, wide planks, so pretty! I think that is where our tax refund is going..... Plus, we're gonna replace the spindles on our staircase. Right now they are painted white, but we're gonna get wrought iron and replace them ourselves. Again, we've read and heard that it's easy to do..... And we actually like doing these projects ourself. Our very first house we laid tile on the screened in porch. We did a pretty darn good job, if I don't say so myself....

Going to Ally's V'day party today at school. Just gonna stop in for a few minutes - don't wanna cramp her style! :rotfl2: She asked me if I was coming so I asked her if she wanted me to. She kept saying, "it's up to you." Finally, I said I'd come and she got a big grin on her face. I don't know why she wouldn't just tell me she wanted me there! I think she's afraid that I'll talk to her teacher about her talking issues lately.

OK, I've gotta ask - Lorrie, don't laugh at me! Has anyone here done a colon cleanse? I'll leave it at that..... :rotfl2:

Not on purpose :rolleyes1  :rotfl2: I know you can drop a few pounds. It is most often water weight and little of what is left. I have some GI issues and mine used clean itself. (KWIM?) I know too much info..... I did notice a difference

Kara... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :happytv: :rotfl: :lmao:
(you know I couldn't resist that)

Tammie - I'll try to head over today! :thumbsup2

Princess Dress advice. Okay, little miss skinny butt LOVES her princess clothing. LOVES it. I actually bought a lot of those winter princess gown sleepware for her to play in and that is all she ever wears! She has that nice Snow White dress in a XXS which is a 2/3 size. The kiddo is tall, but SKINNY.

All that to say, how many princess dresses do you guys get the girls - and how many do you take on the trip.

God help me, but I am really eyeing this one... Especially since it is 30% off...

Lorrie - I take ONE dress and let her wear it to the princess meal. I may just let her wear something else that day and then roll it up in a ziplock and pull it out for her to wear to the meal. Or for pics with princesses, etc.

Good morning girls!

Doing laundry and finally starting to pack! I'm not to worried - packing for Lauren and I is a breeze compared to packing for the three of us!;)

Lorrie - I know I missed the "mother" drama (and I put that in quotes because I use the term loosely), but WOW - she's a winner! Well, you know how I've handled PITA parents before - I just stop talking to them. I'm probably not the best one to give advice on this subject because I'm quite cynical regarding parental relationships but my $.02: when having a relationship causes more harm than good, I would start to question the relationship. Good luck!

As for our DIS trip - I would LOVE to say I could do it (and I really want to!) I should probably see what airfares are looking like for that time of year (Sept., right?) That's what's going to be the breaking point for me. Although I was pleasantly surprised to find airfare for $205/rt, non-stop for our trip in Dec. That's the cheapest I've paid for tix in years! Since it's not such a busy time of year, I'm thinking we are in no real hurry to book it so we can still keep it in the back of our minds for awhile.

Yes, Lauren's boyfriend gave her a box of chocolate, a small teddy bear, and in the teddy bear were a small pair of earrings. So cute. He gave it to her yesterday in the hall at school because he's going away & won't be in school today. Lauren is going to get him something at Disney. I've met this boy - real cute - short with glasses. LIke I said, he's had a crush on her since last year. Anyway, we were at curriculum night last night, and Lauren went over to him to say hello and meet his mother. And then she HUGGED him goodbye! Do you know how weird it was to watch your little girl hug a boy?! I can't even find a smiley to express what I was feeling. I'm so not ready for this!

I'm with ya Laura on the "not on purpose" comment! :thumbsup2

Cammie - Oh, man. That had to be rough! It is like you know it is going to happen at some point, but it doesn't make it any easier when it does - you know? At least he is a good kid and not one of those boys that looks like rejected members of the Cure! What is up with the way 17 years olds are dressing. Those skin tight jeans and hair combed to hang all in their face.

Kara - one dress - really? That is probably good advice. Her dress was bought at the park originally and will take up some room with all the frilly stuff.

Kara, I'm like Lauren, anything with the words colon and cleanse in them together makes me :scared1: We have those detox things, but believe me, I think my colon is just fine.;) Have fun at the V party!

Cammie, how sweet:love: I'm glad he's a nice boy. I can't believe you are leaving in 2 DAYS!!!! I was thinking about packing the other day, just for something to do, but I started my PTR instead.

Jillian, cute dress!

Okay, gotta run!

OH, just weighed in and down 2 lbs this week - but there has got to be a mistake! I ate so many choco covered pretzels, plus McD's twice this week! I'll take it, but I'm thinking it's gonna reflect next week....

Jeff found a gal in his office who gets shrimp right off the docks for $4/lb and they are HUGE! He got 5 lbs this week, and they are soooo good and sweet. Last night I made a shrimp salad - kinda like egg salad but with shrimp mixed in, too. It was so yummy! It called for canned shrimp but we just cooked up and chopped some of this shrimp. OMG, I just can't get over how different fresh shrimp tastes!

Kara - congrats on the two pounds. I think I found them this week - so don't worry about next week! :rotfl2:

You guys are really going to think I'm a nut, but I DON'T like seafood. YUCK! Occassionally, I'll have a baked piece of tilapia but that is about as far as I go! That is just me though! When we go to the beach, we buy from a fresh market that gets their seafood that day.

Kara - I used the William Sonoma Diablo Sauce with fresh shrimp and pasta and a little cheese on top - Carlos LOVED it! It is spicy, but he really liked it. That might make an easy meal one night.

I have a splitting headache. In my mind, I'm plotting & scheming on how I could get on the monorail this trip. It sucks - but I hate to say it isn't going to happen. I should have lobbied stronger I think. Now everything is gone for our dates except value & cabins (um... no thanks).

I'm such a ditz. I log on to tell you guys something and forget! :sad2:

Here is a cute v-day for the kiddos. I saw french toast, cut into little pieces - about a 1 inch x 1 inch square. the title was french toast fondue. Basically, cute little container of chocolate sauce, whipped cream, coconut, strawberry sauce, choc chips, etc. for the kids to dip.

Thought it sounded like a cute, special little meal.

All right everyone, get off Facebook, I've got a question. :rotfl2: :lmao:

(and feel free to tell me to shut up already)

So I was looking and was SHOCKED to see that a 1 BR villa would only be $700 for our trip.

Okay, Carlos set a $3k limit for the trip. $800 was plane tickets -which left me at 2300 - what CSR is going to cost us with park hoppers & dining.

WELL.... here are my concerns/thoughts...

1- if you had a kitchen and got some eggs, bread, milk, juice, water... would those savings on not feeding a family of 4 breakfast every morning not count for at least a few hundred? :confused3

2 - We've NEVER stayed in the same room while away. The condo we rent has 3 BRs. We stay up a lot after the kids go to bed watching TV for a few hours.

Could anyone tell me how their trip in one room went. Part of me wants to say you are so tired, everyone is ready to go to sleep at the same time....

Hi Girls...Quick fly by...I am not even supposed to be on the computer until tonight! I actually read all your posts this morning and my self disciplining timer went off and I never posted. Now I am back....I am not very self disciplined!

Laura...I hear ya girl! I LMAO because that is what just happened to all of us last week! It wasn't pretty but I lost 5lbs!
Kara...I love hard wood floors. It will look so good! Congrats on the 2lbs!Jillian....your trip is so close I can't stand it!
Tammie...Hiya pal!
Renee....you know how i feel about the monorail but it is part of the problem I am having money problems!!!!!!! Your trip will be awesome no matter where you stay!

In regards to our CFWW trip...I am freaking out that I might not make it to WDW in 2009! All this talk about money on this end is frickin depressing! I am sure you have noticed that I have been on a downer when it comes to trip talk and money and all...I know it's all going to work out but I am not to that point yet.

Lorrie - Think it depends on the individual. I know for me, no matter how tired I am after a day out at the parks, I still like to unwind a little - watch TV, have a glass of wine and just be alone. I can put up with being in one room for maybe 1-3 nights; but any longer would bug me.

As for breakfast, I think you would save alot if you did a grocery delivery and ate in the room. Heck, some days you may go back to the room in the middle of the day and you could also have lunch. Where is the 1 bedroom?

Oh and Cammie...your DD Valentine story is so adorable! She is so grown up. So sad!

Renee....we have ALWAYS stayed in one room and we are always fine. The kids tend to pass out because they are so....tired! We aren't big breakfast people either so we would just wing breakfast a lot and we always used our snack credits for breakfast. Bagels and dough nuts, apples and oranges, stuff like that are considered snacks.
