Just out of curiosity, why is it that you believe they should have told you about this? I just cannot figure out why you think you needed to be warned that gay people are at Disney.

As far as seeing them making out....I see straight people making out all the time! I would not demand a refund because of it. I just don't get why you seem to think that because these men were gay that it makes it so much worse and your niece and nephew needed to be shielded from it.

Rinkwide, where are you? You accused me of killing the thread, but it still seems to be limping along.

Beca, thank you for also noticing that this thread isn't very mature. Now I don't feel quite so schoolmarmish.

I don't think that Disney is responsible for telling us who their guests will be at any given time. Gay Week is very well known and is even mentioned in guidebooks, so if you felt that you needed to avoid it, it wouldn't be hard to do so. If any couple was engaged in serious PDA in front of my kids, I would either quickly hustle the kiddos along, or politely ask the people to stop if there was no escape. But I wouldn't expect a refund. It does seem like a dangerous precedent for DVC to set.

I think any large group can get a little crazy...imagine what the Red Hatters would be like if they descended upon WDW. (My grandma's a Red Hatter, so I can say that.) We were nearly stampeded several times by highly exuberant cheerleaders on our last visit, but that wasn't Disney's fault!

Sorry...we must have been typing at the same time.

I don't regret buying SSR for one second, but I would be thrilled if some wonderful things (like those mentioned here) got added. I'm not offended by other DVC members trying to improve the place. I just wish they would think about how they're presenting their ideas...for example, don't interrupt a thread where someone is expressing their happiness about their trip to SSR to let everyone know what a bad resort it is. That sort of thing isn't cool.
