Thanks for visiting our thread.

What is the point of putting your jammies on to go to a bar? The bars were all closed by the time any of us got around to putting on jamies! Does your birthday suit count? According to Lampy, we had some of that on our cruise. :earseek:

TCD

There is a rumour going around... ...that we were in the bars in our jammies looong before they closed....but again, and I can't stress this enough :smooth: ....it's just a RUMOUR!!!

Not sure that even I am crazy enough to run around nekkid though.....so you's guy's gots me there!!!!!

Have enjoyed looking at all of yer pics!!!!!

Hey everyone,

Well I finally caught up to the end of the rports.

Great Photo's everyone. I still haven't had a chance to upload any pictures yet and even take my underwater cams to get developed.

Tri- Circle,
Keep that warm weather in place, I'll be returning to Lakeland on Wednesday for a few days. Going to the Kingdom on Thursday afternoon, DVC meet and Friday evening. Mickey's Merry Christmas party.

Well lets see, did anyone book the DVC cruise for October 2006. We were going to give it a shot, but decided against it as we will be up to our eye lids in building our new home in Polk County, Fla. and thought it would be better not to warnder to far from its construction.

We are going on a three days in March.

We had 1 1/2" of that horrible white stuff this morning and more predicted for Monday evening.

Talk to all soon

Hey Kenny- White stuff? Yuck! We had mid 70's and sunshine here all day yesterday. This morning it is a little cloudy, but already in the mid 60's. Get that house built, and get down here!

When you get the chance, you at least have to get your shark photo posted! I saw the photo when it got passed around, and still can't believe that thing was caught so close to CC!

Have fun at the World. We usually hit the Christmas party each year. Haven't made plans yet, but we will probably pop over for a visit sometime soon.

As you all know by now, the Dis'ers owned the Magic for the week of Nov. 19th. I "accidently" found my way into the crew's quarters, and now share a rare behind the scenes photo:

crewsquarters.jpg

Also, while I was enjoying my tour, I happened upon this top secret publication:

DCLcrew.jpg

So, you all want some inside information? What special cruises are going to be offered in 2007? Some staff gossip? When is the new ship going to be built? Private e-mail addresses for Captain Tom and the staff? It's all in this secret publication! Not really, it is actually pretty boring. Definitely not worth the time I had to spend in the brig after I got caught wandering in unauthorized areas.

Do not try this on your cruise.

Maria,

Do y'all have a thread going yet for your 2006 Turkey Day Gang? I will have to drop in there from time to time, just to keep your new Turkeys in line!

I am calling today for rates on using Disney transportation. Airfare and everything. Looks like next year I will have to fly down on day of departure. And from Laura's(Momsgoofy) experience last year, I think that Disney will get me there one way or the other before the ship sails.

Also, like Sherri, I was tipped out by the time I got all those bags back and forth so much!

Anyone use Disney transportation this year?

Yes Willie, it's the only way to go!

Once we recovered from the price quote :faint: you don't see the bags until you're settled in your stateroom. I can't remember what the price was this year (probably the same as last year 77.00 per person). We've never flown in the day of the cruise (yet, there's a first time for everything though) so I'm assuming an airline rep will just wheel your bags to the DCL bus (the only time you'll have to tip! The tipping gets really old, doesn't it?)

Also, when you (sadly) disembark to go home, you can check-in for your flight at the DCL terminal, and you won't see your bags again till you arrive home! :earsgirl:

It can also be figured into the cost of your cruise, so you can kid yourself into thinking you're not really paying for it. :rotfl:

I just called DCL and added Disney airfare and ground transfers to my package for 2006 10 day. It cost me $399.40 per person. I figure it is not much more than I spent this past year on airfare, limo, tips, headache.

We will be flying in on the departure day this next cruise. I figure flying from Houston to Orlando is two warm weather cities, I should be pretty safe, weather wise.

We have ALWAYS used it Willie.....Airport to resort, resort to port and port to Airport.....same price even with the EXTRA transport.....BUT, if you book 2 staterooms as we do you can't book the resort thru DCL.....they can't "link" 2 staterooms to 1 resort room!

Ron.

I am gonna have to figure out how to do this and still meet you for brews at Downtown Disney on the nite before! Uh oh, may have to make changes here!

W

P.S. will you do something to wake up the 10 day thread? Man I just can't get excited about posting there yet. Looks like the heaviest poster and website admin is a 17 year old.....

I guess it is hard for anyone to compare with TCD. Brilliant, twisted minds think alike......

Wow that sounds like a good price!! I had originally included the airfare but I think they wanted like $800 per person (this was last year when I booked for T-day 2005) so i dropped it as I was able to get airfare for all four of us for $700... BUT then the $320 for the airport to port and back and the $180 for the home to airport and back AND THEN ALL THEM DARN TIPS AND DRAGGING THE BAGS.. i was only going to check into the ground transportation but I'll definitely look at both... only thing though about the air (and I'm asking) is it true you don't know what you are doing (airline/time/day) until like a week before... and you may be making multiple stops AND more than likely not sitting together?

Brilliant? Not really.

Twisted? OK, maybe a little, but hey, who isn't?

Maybe I am going to have to sign up for that 12/06 cruise and give that thread a jump start.

As I've said before though, Mrs. TCD says no way. Hmmmm. I wonder if they would mind Dad being away for Chirstmas? As long as everyone gets their gifts, maybe not.

Sherri,

The rep I spoke with told me that we will be on an early flight from Houston and a 12:30 ish flight back home, but we won't have details til about 30 days out. I won't accept not sitting together, or anything less than a direct flight. Continental has about 6 per day from Houston. Also Southwest has some direct flights. So there should be no reason for us to not be nonstop.
I really like the idea that I won't have to fool with my bags from airport to ship, then ship to airport.
Here is what I estimate I spent this year.

Airfare
$282 PP= $1128.
Limo(splurged again, but was not as cool when DD's knew about it this year)
$330
Cab from Airport to hotel- $40
tips at hotel up to the room-$10
tips at hotel down to limo $10
tips at port bags to room $10
tips at port bags to limo $10
tip at airport bags to plane $5

Total spent $1543

Cost this year 4 @399.40 PP = $1597.60

A little more, but no headaches for Willie--priceless..

Hey Turkeys!

Take a look at this photo (originally posted by dubbya):

See the guy back by the rail without the green t-shirt?

On the last night of our cruise, I saw him talking to Doogie up on Deck 9. I was walking by, and stopped to say hello. He admitted that he was a lurker, and that he had read all 5000 posts on our meets thread, but had never posted!

I believe he said that his name was Abel. Well, Abel, if you read all of our other posts, I'll bet you are reading this thread, and I am outing you!

Why don't you register and make your first post on this thread and tell all the people how much fun you had watching us all week?

Come on, lighten up and have some fun! Life is short.

Did anyone else meet this guy?

Andrew, you were the best at spending quality time with the family this cruise. So, they would still get to spend time with ya. Of course, it appears that much of the quality time was spent going to off limits areas on the ship and CC, breaking into the gingerbread house, and showing X rated Mexican artwork to the kiddos!

W

Willie-I agree with you about posting on the 12/16/06 thread--we need a more lively conversation!! Also, my friend Sue booked her air and ground transfers thru Disney for the Turkey Cruise. Everything worked out great--she was on a non stop flight each way and never touched her bags. Also, on the bus to the port they played a disney cruise video. She is really happy that she booked the air and ground transportation thru Disney.

Dang it, I knew I shouldn't have posted those photos! Man, if Mrs. TCD ever finds out about any of the things you mentioned, I am in big trouble. ;) The shame of it is, that there were some other interesting things we did, and I didn't have the camera!

I'm not asking for any reason other than curiosity, but does anyone know how to get to the crew pool? I think I found the door, but it was locked. Of all the nerve! I'm not planning on doing a cannonball in the crew pool or anything, I was just wondering how to access it. If anyone knows, please share.
