Hey, got the photos back from the underwater camera. Here is the sunken mickey w/ DD:

mickeystat.jpg

I am going to ask this question on the main board, too, but is this a new statue? There was no sunken Mickey on our 11/04 cruise because of the 2004 hurricanes. This statue looks different from the photo on the CC survivor CD:

SunkenMickey.jpg

The sunken Mickey in my photo has his hand open and reaching up. The one from the CD doesn't. Hmmmm :scratchin

Anyone know what is up with this?

TCD

Melody- Thanks. You really should have been there. I doubt that there has been another group of Dis'sers who took over a ship the way we did! I really miss my Dis friends!

Kris, as you now know from being on the Magic with me for the week, I am not adventurous at all. Anyway, I think I got plenty of the Mayan culture right there in port. Who needs to see real ruins when they had a nice fake Mayan pyramid right there for you to see. Kind of like the World Showcase at EPCOT. I don't need to take my kids to Europe or Asia they can see it all in a day at EPCOT! ;)

TCD

Actually, my kids really believe that we did a whirlwind tour of Europe last September. They were very impressed that we even got to see the Beatles perform in England. Walt really had us parents in mind when we made all this so easy for us to culturize our kids.

I'll just bet he had something to do with those Mayan pyramids at the port. They just really had that Disney touch to them, didn't then?

I believe that in your photo, Mickey is giving the universal distress signal for drowning.

In the original photo, he wasn't drowning.

It was great that you were able to save him after taking your dd's picture.

Kris

Great photos!

I believe the previous Mickey statue (perhaps the original) has been sustaining damage from hurricanes the last two seasons. There is a chance he's been replaced with the one in your photo?

I just wanted you all to know that I am really enjoying your make-shift trip report. The banter between you all is great! Makes for a very descriptive retelling of your adventures!

Melody, Melody, Melody. You really should have come with us on the 2004 Thanksgiving cruise! Then we could have corrupted Mr.Crsndsny just like we did TCD,kenny, etc.
We really just like to post alot, because we have no real lives! Our meets thread went over 5, 000 posts. And I can brag that I had the final post there! (Yes, I did turn out the lights on the way out!)

Okay, fess up, how many of you are still TIRED?

Please, it can't be just us. Maybe it's coming back to cold, (for TX anyway, 35 in Dallas yesterday) after wearing shorts all week. We've yet to put the Christmas tree up. The thought of doing anything Christmas-related is overwhelming. We just (no, I'm not kidding,) finished putting the suitcases away today. (We forgot about the snorkel gear too, LOL!)

Still trying to adjust ourselves back to 'real life.' Grocery shopping, cleaning, reminding to do homework, etc. Coming back here and posting with new DISboard friends is great! :teeth:

Wished we could've packed our servers and room steward in our luggage though! :teeth: Hey, we'll let them have a room in our house (don't use our dining room that much anyway.) And we'll even give them weekends off. Heck, we'll even do our own house-cleaning and laundry. Just prepare and serve those wonderful meals, and turn down our beds each night (and make them each a.m.) :flower:

Guilty! Still no tree up and the suitcases are at the foot of the stairs that lead to the attic.(Where the Christmas tree is)

And, Pris, if it makes you feel better, I fell asleep Tuesday at 8:30 Pm and slept til 6:30 next day. Guess I did not get as much hammock time as I needed. I tell you it was ruff being a rock star.... even for a nite!

Hi all!! Quick question in prep for my April 2007 cruise!

Have any of you ever used Disney's ground transportation? I'm thinking about it for next time... the amount of $$$$ i put out moving my bags around was majorly crazy?

The town car driver to the airport - yes his tip was included but i just feel compelled

The guy at the airport

The driver to the hotel

The guy at the hotel (for all the bags we weren't going to even use) up to the room

The guy at the hotel down from the room

The guy on Radisson's shuttle

The guy at the port to the ship

The guy at the port from the ship

The town car driver to the airport

the guy at the airport

the town car driver to home

I thought it was worth it (and listening to everyone on the board) to do private transportation but man o man... i was shocked!

Recovery is a twelve step program... one twelve pack each weekend until the next cruise :rotfl2:

Hey everybody!

I wasn't on this cruise but reading these posts make me feel like I was and sure wish that I was. Love to hear that everyone had a great time. I'm enjoying the pictures as well. Nice legs, Lampy!!

I'm with you too Priscilla.

But, I don't feel the boat moving any more.

And, I am amazed at how fast elevators move in the real world.

We are getting the Christmas decorations up this weekend. That cruise did put us a bit behind schedule, but it was worth it.

Willie and previously shy Lampy

Talking about the 04 Turkeyday cruise influence.
We had only one child before.... and now two.... :rotfl2:

Sorry I missed this years fun but I lived it somewhat through the dis boards.
A lot less calories though! :rotfl2:

Here is a photo of DD Katie in the Gingerbread house before they started to put the cookies on it.

It was quite roomy inside there. We were thinking of hiding out in there on Saturday morning, and going on the next cruise too. You know, it could work. They don't keep track of who is leaving the boat. :scratchin

OK my DD just saw this pic while I was perusing and said "that ain't right - you're not allowed to do that" :rotfl2:

Oh Sherri!

Yes! We've used the transportation each time, and let me tell ya..DO IT! Once we recovered from the sticker shock (I think it was 77.00ish per person?) we later agreed it'll save you a lot of hassles, and tipping. And, (as if you're not spending enough for a cruise, right) if you can, go one step further, and stay at the Orlando Airport Hyatt the night before. It's too wonderful. You wake up Saturday a.m., place your bags outside your door by 8:30, DCL collects them, and you don't see your bags again until you're settled in your stateroom! You wait in the hotel Lobby for the DCL rep to lead you to the bus. He arrives, (waving the Mickey hand of course,) leads you to your bus, and you watch a DCL video (seen only on the bus, not the Travel Channel, LOL!) which gets you and your family all excited for the cruise. :Pinkbounc You don't have to book your transportation right away, and it can be figured into the cost of your cruise if you decide to do it. It's definitely something you want give some consideration. :earsgirl:

Priscilla

Priscilla,

Thanks so much... our town car/limo, etc. cost us $320 OUCH plus all those tips.. maddening!! Plus the major hassle... when I put my bags out the door that last night :( i so much wanted to say see you later, we won't need you again until next summer... but NOOOOOOO... there they were at every turn!!

By the way... not sure if we saw you to tell you this but we did have the same two little girls for the massage... OUCHY... my word!! I had Beatrice... she was killing me.. i finally had to say ease up! but then she got my neck and it was vundava LOL! That was my DHs first massage ever and he said never again.. he hurt more afterword (we was too manly to say ease up I guess) ....
