Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Hey! Just wanted to wish you good luck if you haven't left yet - I see your green light is on - but that doesn't really mean anything.

Love that new purse, cool pattern. I need to examine the park bag question myself. I don't think I want to carry the baggalini again. Too heavy.

Can't wait to hear how those sandals feel. They are very cute, and the soles look really supportive. If it turns out the straps are comfy I might look into getting a pair.

Thanks Rebecca! I'm excited to see the purse, should arrive tomorrow and I have high high hopes for those sandals.

Good luck Cynthia! Going back to look at the binder pages.

Thanks Glennbo! :goodvibes

I have to be honest. I was more nervous, almost sick to my stomach today prior to the interview.

That's when you know you REALLY want something.

It was definitely another full interview. I really liked both of the people that I met, one of whom I would work with closely who will be really a huge source of information for me.

However, as I suspected, they had already made their decision, or he made it on the spot but there was no further debriefing. After the 2 women left the room we spent some time reviewing some prior work that I'd brought.

Afterwards, he offered me the job

So I guess he liked what he saw! Or heard. Or both.

I need a passing out from relief smilie, I'm sure there is one, just too lazy to go look.

I am supposed to receive an offer letter by Friday, Monday at the latest. :thumbsup2

Holy cats!

I can breathe again. So excited, so relieved and it's more than a little surreal....it's the next phase of my life in so many ways and it's huge! It's so cool to see they are as excited about it as I am.

I was telling Jeff a week ago that I really do, always have, believe things happen for a reason. It's that half full thing...but it's more than that.

There was a reason I looked at Craigslist that day when I hadn't been checking it at all.

A reason it jumped out at me.

A reason it didn't pop up until I decided to try and sell my papers. Which I still plan to do by the way.

A reason there is a personal connection at the company.

A reason it's taken so long and been so hard.

Moments. Faith. Water on Stone.

And it's all worth it. Thank you all so much for your support and good luck wishes, for seeing me through all the interviews over the past few months and the ups and downs.

Of course it's not a done deal until that offers comes in and is signed. I don't have details on salary, benefits etc yet and will feel a little better once I see it. I have a good feel for the benefits and the salary but there is that vacation question out there....fingers crossed that it's enough! And that my references check out

:rotfl: not worried about that part thank goodness! It's more about getting ahold of my main reference as she's gone international.

Once I do have the offer, before I accept, I do plan to call my girlfriend and just make sure she's ok with it. I'm not worried about it but I do want to have the conversation and we have not done that, I didn't think it appropriate until now.

Afterwards, he offered me the job

That is awesome Cynthia!!!

Congratulations!

I agree, things do happen at certain times for a reason. I don't believe in blind luck.

Can you tell me what it is you'll be doing?

Well, it's a Forensic Engineering firm. Think Mythbusters meets CSI but not nearly as glamorous. When huge fires happen, monorails derail, cranes topple over, or things "fail" for some reason people (manufacturers, retailers, owners etc) need to know why (for a variety of reasons as you might imagine). The firm investigates what went wrong from a science/technical perspective, often providing expert testimony in litigation. They also do proactive product failure and safety testing (what could go wrong). It's a pretty wide range of services. Everything from fire and explosion to marine and products.

I will be selling and marketing those services to potential and existing clients.

Wow! Congratulations! Yes, things do happen for a Reason! The job sounds really fascinating. I hope you're happy with the offer, though it doesn't sound like that will be an issue. Yay!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

It sounds like it will be a great new challenge for you!

Thanks! I hope so too (on the offer) not really worried about it but still, it will be nice to see.

It sounds like it will be a great new challenge for you!

I think so, very excited about it!

I posted at the same time as your other one- didn't want you to think I had forgotten to say how happy I am for you!!!

Congrats Cynthia! :cool1:

Sounds like a cool place to work.

Awesome job on the bider pages as usual.

I had not planned on really looking hard at, or thinking about airfare just quite yet. When I've looked the best fares, at hideous times, have been in the mid to upper $300's.

Our plan/hope has always been to get good flight times, even if it meant paying a little more as last year they really had a negative impact on our trip.

Last year we had a 1pm flight, got in at 10:30pm. Midnight before we were at the cabin, eating dinner and heading to bed.

We never recovered from that late night and I could not get teens out of bed before 9am est (6am to them). Heading back we had a 6:30 am flight...leaving the fort at 4:30 am. It was a brutal trip home, wasted a whole day and had our schedules so messed up we all felt crummy for the rest of the week.

So even though it was a 7 night trip...we only really had 6 full days at WDW as far as I'm concerned and it really bummed us out.

We did however get a killer rate which eased the pain...a little. $208 a ticket.

I found that ticket today! And with the flight times (and non stop flights) that I wanted!

However it's not available on our dates. Or more accurately our days of the week. We'd have to leave, and come back a day later, to get it.

Should we do it? Can we do it? Will we do it?

What will these mean for our hotel reservations?

Our ADR's?

Kendall's HS sport tryouts?

:scared1:

Next best option jumps up to $321 and would also require a date change, moving arrival and departure one day earlier. Same potential drama except no issues with tryouts.

our current dates would cost....$448.

Now. I can keep our current dates and go back to all day 1 stop flights, losing 2 days of the trip for $235 on United.

So it's not impossible but what makes more sense?

Keeping the dates?

Good flights?

Great price? Another $100 per ticket (or more) adds up really fast when you are talking about 6 tickets!

Taking a wait and see attitude to see if our ideal dates and times somehow drop?

Stay tuned to see everyone weigh in.

Of course everything looks non refundable...

and as I'm looking...emailing my TA and Jeff... things are disappearing...including the $208 rate on that day.

Next. Of this...and that
