Let's close another attraction before we get there!

Free dinners smell funny, like a combination of bratwurst and zebra domes, they usually have food stains on their shirts and walk too slow because they ate too much. :lmao: I wish I could get some free dining...sniffle

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

About time Disney spread those closures out more I say. After all, the free dining types already get their "perk" in the free dining. Since I'm trying to avoid the free dining types by going in January, this doesn't bother me one bit.

Please explain to me what the "free dining types are"?

proud to be a free diner!

Exactly what am I? I have gone for free dining twice before and again this year, and have gone three times without. Am I a half breed of free dining, a mudblood if we were at universal with Harry Potter? Should I wear a scarlet "F" on my head to signify that I am dining for free?pirate:

On behalf of 'free diners' everywhere, let me say something - some of us can't go to WDW any time we want and have to take advantage of any deals that Mickey may give. We are truly thankful that our kids will get to enjoy WDW just as much as anyone else. We 'free diners' also understand that going at this time there will be some ride closures since it's traditionally a slower time of year. Really, we get it!;) But the thousands of dollars I'm spending this September are just as good as anyone else's. So just cause a large group of people CHOOSE to take advantage of a deal (and a good one at that) doesn't make us second-class citizens or certain 'types' as others have said. Now, I'm sure there was no offense meant by that post. But beware people, beware - next time you're on the monorail, and myself or someone sits down next to you, it could be... a 'free diner' (gasp!). We're gonna be everywhere starting Aug 15th!!!

And really, for the deal we're getting, I can handle a few closures here and there. Three years ago, it was Spaceship Earth, Last year was SM. It's gonna happen at this time of year, you just have to find other things to do. And if you can't do that at WDW, you're not trying.

Last time we were there Space Mountain was closed. This time IASM and TSM...oh well, this time I can go on SM and next time I can go on IASM and TSM hopefully in better shape then they are now.

The thing that bothers me is when they CHANGE rides like they did to the Wedway People Mover....I am hearing not so good things about it since the SM rehab..

When you FD'rs see me coming this September kindly waddle off to the right side of the walkway so I may pass...and try not to drip your free mickey bars on my red disney crocs :hippie:

Haven't read the whole thread yet, but I was a bit surprised by this. Kind of rude, no?

I wonder if "free diners" are as bad as "pop warnerers"???

eta... FWIW, we would have been free diners as well, but dh couldn't get the time off.

OMG, WDW....like OMG....

First, you take away Toy Story Mania before our 8/18 arrival, then Small World, then Star Tours???!!!! C'MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about you wait until JANUARY?????? NOT DURING FREE DINING when your goal is to have MANY of us there ENJOYING our FAV rides????!!!! GEEEEESSSHHHH!!!!!:confused3

Ok, anyone else going in that time frame can hop on the vent train with me...toot, toot....let's go! :sad2:

This time of year is usually not very busy. So they do maintenance on the attractions during this time AND they offer special deals to try to fill the resorts. You bit their offer and you get reduced number of attractions. Their goal is just to fill the resorts. They don't care if you get to enjoy your favorite attractions.

Seriously? The next time you decide to type something so rude....by all means PLEASE stick around for clarification. I am really puzzled as to what you mean by "free dining types". Unless you mean "intelligent" type because I think traveling to WDW during value season and free dining is a pretty smart thing to do. Can I afford to travel at peak season? Yes. Do I want to pay $2000 more for the same amount of time at WDW? No!

To the OP...I understand your frustration, however last year Space Mountain was closed and in 2007 Haunted Mansion was closed. We still had a blast and it gave us something to look forward to on our next trip!:thumbsup2
