Can't search at the moment, so I figured I'd post...

We'll be at the BC Villas from May 20-25. Was trying to figure out if buying a 5 day hopper (in advance) from disneyworld.com would be a better deal than just buying a Length of stay pass (utilizing what I remember to be a DVC discount, I think?) for the 6 days we're there.

The passes in advance through the Disney ticket site are $230, + $15 FL tax.

I haven't purchased a LoS pass in FOREVER, so I can't remember what the rate + any DVC discount would add up to. Can anyone shed any light?

Our trip is a month away, just want to get tickets squared away! Thanks for any ideas!

I have always found the FAQ and discussion on Deb's AllEarsNet.com to be most helpful in deciding which ticket to buy. It would mainly depend on whether you plan to take advantage of the water parks; if not, save you money and get the PH.::yes::

BTW, the LOS is now known as the UPH, or Ultimate Park Hopper.

AH!

Thank you for the fast response - no water parks for us, and I guess it's been a while, since I didn't know it was called the UPH now. Doy. :)

Thanks, we'll go ahead and get the 5day PH. :) rock on!

The UPH includes DQ, BB, TL and PI in addition to the four parks. The park hopper only includes the four parks. If you have pluses, you can use them at the water parks and PI, but not DQ.

Hope this helps:

We just bought everyone 7 day PH+ passes before our trip. I think they are better then the UPH because:

1) We will not go to the parks every day.

2) On a short trip (less then 7 or 8 days), you can never use all of the perks on a UPH.

Another option for you is the AP. If you plan to go for a long time this year, then, schedule a second (3rd, 4th) trip before the start date of the AP, then, maybe that is the way to go.

Also, buy the PH+ through discouters. I saved a ton off of WDW cost.

Think it all comes down to:

1) How long is the trip?
2) How much you want to do?
3) Can you schedule subsequent trips during the same AP period?

According to WDW ticket page, UPH for 5 nights (tax not added in to these prices) would be
Adult: $282.00 onsite or $259.00 purchased online before you get there
Kids: $226.00 or $208.00 online price
You don't get the DVC discount until you are at the resort - at that time the 10% discount would get you an adult ticket for $253.00 and kid's ticket would be $203.40 (All before tax)
IMO, the PH tickets are the most flexible....they don't run out and will last until you enjoy the last day on your ticket.
Have fun!!
PS We took the plunge this year and got APs...we'll be at WDW 3 times this year and it is actually cheaper to get those. Love the discounts you get with those, too. :earsboy:

Thanks to everyone for the great responses!! I am looking forward to our trip very much - we're only going for 6 days, so that's why I'm thinking "no" to the park hopper plus - especially since it's my parents' first trip down there with us, and in just 6 days, I don't want to drag them EVERYWHERE, they just want to see the parks more than anything else.

I've had annuals the past 2 years, and chose not to renew it this year b/c we're only doing one trip this year, and our next trip down is (potentially) in Dec. 05. So - I think the 5 day hopper would do just fine for us, since the last day out of the 6 we aren't planning to go to parks, but to DTD! :)

Thanks for the advice -- I'm just going to get my tickets online from disneyworld.com. That's the best deal going.

Man I wish AAA sold 5 day hoppers and not just 4 day!! :)

In Greensboro NC the AAA price is 199.00 for a 4 day and 220 for a 5 day. no water parks. no Fl tax. The LoS is really a 6 day ticket. I have purchased both tickets before. I do not like the LoS tickets because they expire. If you do not go to the parks one day they you have lost it. Also you are paying for a full day worth of ticket on you checkin and checkout days. Most people arrive a wdw between 1-5 and leave between 10-2. I by my tickets based on the full days between check in and check out. which would give you a 4 day hopper.
