I see on the Legoland website that outside food and drink is not permitted how strictly is this rule enforced? I am not planning on bringing in a 5 course meal, but will they allow snacks for the kids (goldfish, cheese sticks, gogurts, etc) or are they strict and I should plan on leaving it all in the car?

I know I brought in a few snacks in my large-ish purse last October, plus a sippy cup. I don't remember them looking in my purse upon entry.

If you do Trip Advisor, their San Diego board has a lot of locals who might be able to give you more info on this.

As always, Your Mileage May Vary!

I go every week and take a small cooler with me. It's visible and I have never ever been stopped or had any of my bags checked, and I've been going almost every week for over a year.

I wouldn't worry about it!
Have fun!

We were there 2 days last week and it is no problem. They just take your tickets, and let you in a turnstile or stroller/wheelchair gate. No bag check like Disney. We brought in snacks and drinks every day, and ate lunch at a counter service place. The food was actually pretty good, but my shaved steak sandwich was $9.80 and a bread bowl of soup was almost $9 so it adds up quick.

thanks everyone. I dont know that we will bring in a full blown lunch or anything, but glad to know snacks and drinks are doable
