Le Cellier question

Has this restaurant changed since 1994. I remember eating there in 1994 and it was horrible. I remember it being more like a food court and 2 people in our party got sick from a salad that I think had flank steak on it. After that trip I moved down there and was a CM for 2 years and avoided Le Cellier like the plague and have been to WDW a few times since moving back up north and still avoided it. But I looked at the menu and it seems like it would be nice for our upcoming trip. Does my memory serve me right and this used to be more like a food court and is a nicer restaurant now or am I losing my mind.

I'm not sure what it used to be like but we've eaten there the past three trips and we love it.

It's a great sit down restaurant now. We won't go to Epcot without eating there.

Out of all the times that we've eaten at Le Cellier we have had nothing but great service and food. The CM's are all very pleasant and knowledgeable. We have never gotten sick from the food and eat there at least two to three times during each vacation. It is our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant above and beyond any other restaurant on WDW property. You should definitely eat there again. I'm sure that you won't regret that you gave it another chance. :goodvibes

we had the prime rib and and two grandkids ahd the free range chicken....they do not like meat except venison and moose...the cheddar cheese soup is OUTSTANDING and so are the breadsticks......we had a great time as usual.....

I love Le Cellier. It serves the best food in all of WDW.

I was just reading at wdwig.com about the restaurants and such .. and according to that site, Le Cellier used to be a cafeteria style restaurant but has since been converted to a sit-down restuarant known for its steaks.

We have a ps there for our upcoming trip and have heard only wonderful things!!

Thanks now I know Im not going crazy. From the responses to this thread we will definitly be eating there on our trip. Thanks all

We went there for the 1st time ever last week. The food was very good, although, the service was not. I think it was a bad night. Our friends were apologetic because it's usually great.

However, my preference is JIKO or CALIFORNIA GRILL - my personal favorites!

Just wanted to chime in and say it's one of our favs too. When we were there in September, the CM told us that Le Cellier is ranked as the #1 restaurant in Epcot, the #2 restaurant in WDW (after V & A's) and the #3 restaurant in Orlando (may have been all of FL, but I think it was just Orlando.)

We had prime rib & garlic mashed potatoes, cheese soup, raspberry/chocolate smoothie, and of course the breadsticks. We'd HIGHLY recommend all of these :) Have fun!

Four words :

Cream. Cheese. Mashed. Potatoes.

My God, I'm salivating just thinking about it!

We ate here once when it was the cafeteria style (late 80's or very early 90's I am guessing). The food was ok - nothing great; and the restaurant was not nearly as popular as it is now. For some reason I am remembering some type of meatball soup. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We first went 4 or 5 years ago and now make it a point to go every time we are at WDW. The food has always been outstanding - especially the filet mignon and cheese soup.

All these wonderful reviews are making me excited...and hungry!! :goodvibes DH and I will be having lunch here in May for his birthday. Does anyone know if they will serve any of the dinner entrees during lunch time? We have 2:00 PS, and now that DH has seen the menus, he wants something off of the dinner menu. I called CRO to change our times, but they were all booked for dinner. The CM put down in the notes that it was DH's birthday as well as the item that he wanted off the dinner menu. I am hoping that he will be accomodated.

I don't remember exactly what time our PS was for, but we used a VKL voucher which can only be used during lunch hours, so I'm assuming it was around 2:00?? We ordered the filet, so we must have ordered off a dinner menu? I wasn't even aware that there were 2 different menus. We ordered off the one we were given at that time, and it had dinner items on it. So I don't think you'll have a problem.
