Last year free dining people question?

Did anybody change there hotel for free dining after the date to make a ressie ended? I thought I had read last year that people had but I don't remember. Does anybody have any thoughts?

I remember many said they were changing their plans to include the free dining, but then there were many who said they couldn't because their children had to go back to school. I remember a few saying they were taking their children out of school so they could expericence the free dining.

Hi Kimball...not sure if this will be any help, but I was told as long as we are not decreasing the price of our package in any way...lower tix, lower resort /room rate, that we can change ( if available) clear up until check-in!Even of it is view etc. I had been inquirong about a resort change, calling daily but the standard view was unavailable, but the CM said we could still bump up from our current ressie after 6/25...and no penalty to even downgrade as long as we did that prior to our "balance Due/ 45 day out date". Again, if a resort was available, we could upgrade. I was a bit confused becasue I said how could free dining still be in the system...but they said the dining isn't altered, just the rack rate for room. Now, as far as changing length of stay, I have no idea...I was only looking for our exact dates.

OH, and I was given this info by SEVERAL CM's...as was calling multiple times a day!

Was wondering the same thing..we have two rooms at the WL and are 6 people. My mom being in one of the rooms with my older son..however, if she doesn't come...and that is a possibility(dad is sick)...we would were considering switching to a hotel that would accomodate 5..Beach Club or Poly...and not paying for two rooms at the WL. Dates would remain the same..just considering the resort change. Realize this would cost us less...and wondered if we'd be penalized for that..but it might be worth it for the savings of not paying for the two rooms. Was planning to call disney tomorrow and run that past them..and saw this post here.

Weird that they told the above poster that.....You could change the package but not the price. I dropped a day off of my package yesterday and they are crediting back the differance?

Based on that It can work? ( no particular reason I used this smiley just thought it was cute)

I upgraded from ASMo to CSR last year during free dining and it was no problem at all.
